Very scalable, convenient, and stable protection against attacks
Our company uses the solution as a cloud perimeter and VPN. We don't need to use on-premises devices to open firewalls to inbound or outbound traffic.  The solution is very convenient and stable because you don't have to worry about attacks to public IPs or public networks.  The solution has two…

Efficiently manage applications with secure single sign-on and streamlined operations
Access Manager allows us to efficiently manage a broad spectrum of applications while ensuring secure, single-page application access. Its ability to consolidate applications on a single interface streamlines operations significantly. The product is highly secure and reliable, especially in managing user access across various platforms. Multi-factor authentication enhances security by requiring additional verification steps.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Application Access's most valuable feature is the accessibility of enterprise tech protection."
"The solution is very convenient and stable because you don't have to worry about attacks to public IPs or public networks."
"The capability of Akamai Enterprise Application Access is what you're looking for, it's giving you the service that you're looking for. It's simple and doesn't use an agent. It uses LCSD responders, and they have a lot of services around the globe. That's the reason that we were very interested in using it because it has a lot of coverage. This is because it's under the GDS umbrella."
"My favorite part of the Akamai Enterprise Application Access service is its SSO and auto-scaling capabilities."
"The product supports customization."
"I would tell others that this solution is reliable. If they are looking for a solution that is reliable and that is scalable, then this is a good one."
"The product allows customization via custom code."
"The solution is able to save time and resources for my clients."
"Once it is set up, it is easy to use and it integrates with most of the products on the market."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...I rate the technical support a ten out of ten."
"Access Manager allows us to efficiently manage a broad spectrum of applications while ensuring secure, single-page application access."
"Overall, I rate Oracle Access Manager nine out of ten for its extensive capabilities."

Cons

"We need another approach to bring the solution to the cloud. In addition to Access Management, we would like to see if we can jump into Directories. I think ADs are going to go away and everything is going to be cloud-based and minimize the use of ADs because of the cost and some other dependencies to the cloud. Every time you buy AD it is more hardware, and everything's changing to software. The network's changing, the applications are changing, and for IT it is hard to keep up with it."
"The solution has two agents so should combine its enterprise application and security access into one agent."
"The technical enablement sessions are quite limited, and Akamai could help by providing more of them."
"The pricing could be lower for Akamai Enterprise Application Access."
"There could be some improvements in the documentation and overall knowledge base of the solution."
"The initial implementation can definitely be improved because you have to work on several components to configure it correctly."
"Multi-factor authentication requires a lot of processes and technicalities."
"In other products, we can customize on the GUI end, whereas in Oracle, we need to take a backup of the JAR file and then customize it...and during this process, sometimes the WebLogic admin console will go down, which will impact the process."
"The product is complicated and difficult to install and configure."
"There are problems with stability."
"May not integrate easily with non-Oracle products."
"The performance of Oracle Access Manager could be improved. It should be quick to install, but it wasn't, so this is another area for improvement. The Oracle Access Manager console also has room for improvement because it's slow."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is great it is all-inclusive, they use an enterprise cost model. That's what we like compared to other users. This is one of the main attractions of Akamai Enterprise Application Access. It's already an enterprise cost model established with us for services."
"The license can be shared based on the number of active users."
"Licensing is based on user count."
"The product is a little expensive."
"The tool is affordable."
"The price is really good and it is flexible because they have CPU licenses. The license is a one-time-only purchase."
"I cannot comment on the exact pricing because Oracle has different licensing models for other clients, making it flexible."
"Can be expensive as a solution."
"On a scale where one is a high price, and ten is a low price, I rate the solution a one. Purchasing a license for the solution is very expensive now."
