We performed a comparison between Acronis Cyber Protect and MSP360 Backup based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Backup and Recovery solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."If you need to recover, it's the best recovery software I've ever used and I've been in this business for over 30 years. Plug a disc in and tell it to recover this machine and it's done. You walk away from it and it's done. Reboot it and it's perfect."
"The tool’s licensing and pricing are economical for SMB customers."
"The most valuable features of Acronis Backup are cloning and many other capabilities. For example, you are able to clone the whole operating system and drive. Additionally, the solution is a complete package."
"I have everything I need in the backup or in the partition. "
"I can encrypt the data, I can make it send me an email if it fails. It lets me choose which files I want to ignore during backup."
"In our recent experiences, Acronis Cyber Protect proved most valuable during instances of colleagues facing migration challenges due to ransomware impacts. In these situations, where servers and backups were affected, having a backup stored in external drives or other devices within our data centers posed risks. To address this vulnerability, we decided to shift to a cloud backup solution."
"It actually does its job very well and has interesting capabilities, but it has the most awful interface."
"i use the backup solution and I use something called Disk Director, which is a related product. Together, they allow me to manage all of my storage space."
"MSP360 Backup's most valuable feature is its backup interface."
"Technical support is very good."
"The solution is simple to use and easy to configure."
"The UI is pretty good. It's very simple. That is one thing that we like about this. It's very user-friendly."
"The initial setup is very easy. It's not overly complex."
"Provides connectivity to a lot of different cloud storage solutions."
"Client-side encryption minimizes worries about data being captured on the back-end."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is its online backup capacity because you don't have to do an entire backup again and again, it just does whatever you type in, you type a, it goes a, you type b, it goes b. It doesn't take an entire site up again and again. So that incremental and bit by bit backup is important, it is a nice feature here."
"The product needs to have a simple DR process."
"Because Acronis Backup is an on-premises solution, there is extra overhead. It's harder to manage, and there's no real remote access. You have to physically log in to the machine to manage it. The reporting feature works fine, and you will be able to send out reports. However, that is where it stops. The deployment could be improved and could be through a network chain. If we need to deploy two machines that are not connected to the internet but connected to two different networks, it would be great to have a machine with dual mix that has access to the backup server and to those machines. It would be like a relay that you can install on the machine with a two-mix, and that machine can then connect to your backup server and to the other machines. You should be able to see the other machines on that network and be able to deploy to it and push jobs to it."
"When you are using enterprise hardware and software that increases over time, there need to be better and more management features. For pure backup software, it is fine, but when it comes to managing a large infrastructure it is lacking."
"Acronis Backup has a straightforward initial setup process and an easy-to-use interface. However, a potential issue for Acronis partners is that registered partners do not have access to marketing materials, which can make it difficult for them to reach mass markets and sell the product. This could be improved by allowing registered partners to access marketing materials and tools, such as email templates, that would help them to promote Acronis Backup effectively."
"I believe that the next release should be easier to configure as this one is difficult to configure even the easiest of tasks."
"The solution's reporting feature could be better."
"The technical support of Acronis Backup could improve. They have the depth of knowledge but the speed of the response could be quicker."
"They can include something called a backup appliance. Although Acronis is a software-driven company, it would be good for customers to have some kind of backup appliance on top of a lightweight operating system. This will also reduce the cost. Currently, the customers have to buy the hardware in addition to the operating system, which increases the overhead in terms of procurement."
"There are some things that we don't like about it. That is why I was exploring alternatives in a hyper-scale environment. That is why I was checking IT Central Station."
"The interface feels like it is targeted for end users who typically are looking for an all-in-one integrated push button solution. It would be better if the interface had a beginner mode and an expert mode."
"The main improvement is that it should have GDPR compliance. That's the problematic point. They say they are GDPR compliant, but they are not."
"They can add some production backup capabilities and the ability to do single instance back up. At the moment, it doesn't do deduplication on the standard backup. So, the issue is backing up PSG files for customers who have limited bandwidth. The other issue is that I don't like the implementation of the SQL backup. We do use SQL ourselves using a PowerShell script with the VDA tools as a module. That's how we back up. The rotation feature would be nice to have, but I know that they've got it on their dashboard or on their list to look at. They can also do a few tweaks to the dashboard. I would like the reporting capabilities on the portal to be much more granular. Normally, I export it to a text file, and then I run it through a pivot table in order to look at it from a cost-recovery point of view and to see when the backup last ran and if it was successful when it ran two or three days ago. Such a feature would work really well for my market. They can also add a cost-effective backup for Android and Apple cellphones. I've had one or two customers who were looking for this feature. I haven't found this functionality at the moment. I've been looking for a product that does that."
"The product could be more user-friendly."
"We could basically use just a more concise visual dashboard reporting on the status of the various machines."
"Using the solution incurs additional charges for the device storage and backup which are not included in the service."
"The solution's pricing is very high."
