I primarily use Codebeamer for requirements management, especially when I need to employ out-of-the-box functionalities without much customization. It is promoted to various customers and is particularly useful for automobile and health manufacturing companies requiring quick plugin solutions to improve business processes. As PTC partners, we have integrated Codebeamer in numerous customer contexts.

What is most valuable?

The biggest advantage of Codebeamer is its ability to directly use built-in project management modules without the need for extensive customization. For example, it has modules for ASPICE, ISO 26262, and Hara which are readily available. The integration with Windchill is also commendable. Codebeamer saves on time and resources with its web-based client, eliminating the need to install it on every system.

I find Codebeamer to be best suited for automotive projects in various automotive companies. It is very economical for medium-sized companies. It finds use cases in small, medium, and large enterprises. However, I strongly recommend it for medium companies.

What is most valuable?

The key features of Codebeamer include templates and basic structures, most of which are created and readily available for deployment out of the box, reducing deployment time. Additionally, its integration capability is very high, with almost eighty to eighty-five percent of integrations available readily out of the box, minimizing the need for specific integration-related work.

We were looking to gather information on Codebeamer to build our ALM practice. However, the plan was put on hold as we are now focusing on expanding our PLM practice, working with our OEM on different product lines. As a system integrator, we have extensive experience working with these solutions and competing tools.

The requirements management aspect of Codebeamer is critical because it helps various industries, such as automotive or medical devices, to capture requirements based on industry-specific standards and processes. A plethora of advantages in a single, secure environment

What is our primary use case?

I worked in the ALM and PLM industry, and for my various clients, I have evaluated, I have deployed, and I have come up with a strategy for lifecycle management solutions. Now I want to share the same with people around the world so that they can benefit from my knowledge.

Regarding codeBeamer ALM, I have the SaaS version, I have deployed it on the cloud and I have used the on-premise version as well for my various clients.

Our clients' primary use case was for automotive embedded systems, wherein they required ISO 26262 certification. They also use it as a stronger tool to manage the whole of their portfolio.

We are planning to go all out with codeBeamer. One of our clients has agreed. They have decided strategically that codeBeamer will replace their other tools. They will be retiring IBM Doors, XG, PTC Integrity, and Jama.

How has it helped my organization?

Two of my important clients were trying to work on a couple of big projects which were spread across the globe. CodeBeamer has provided them with an out-of-box solution that doesn't require any additional infrastructure. 

During this pandemic, my clients were able to conveniently work remotely thanks to codeBeamer. When the lockdown situation started happening all of a sudden in most countries, if you have a solution that is browser-based, you can easily provide access to your employees. CodeBeamer has proven to be a scalable solution for working from a home environment.
