Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer is an MFT SaaS solution that I have worked with.

Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer has multiple features including Azure, GCP, SharePoint, and S3 bucket connections, which are all very easy to use. Cloud connectivity has been introduced, which was not provided previously, allowing customers to use cloud storage.

There is not much impact on data integrity; the solution is more secure, and as everything is moving to the cloud, it is very easy to manage. Previously, a gateway with no environment separation was used, but now environments can be segregated, which is the main focus in the cloud.

My customers use the end-to-end security protocol.

During huge file transfers, sometimes the system becomes very slow when the load increases, especially when integrating with Flow Manager, causing flow deployment to slow down. If this slowness can be fixed, it would be very useful; otherwise, it takes time to implement the flows. There are also some known bugs, so sometimes deployment does not occur in one attempt, but overall, the solution is good.

I have faced deployment issues where sometimes the flow did not get deployed through Flow Manager. During flow deployment from Flow Manager to Secure Transport, the deployment fails due to some error, but after manually redeploying, it deploys smoothly.

Additional features I would like to see include Control-M notification, as some customers need it for scheduling and notifications during that time would be helpful. The ability to add a date and time stamp for file renaming or changes based on customer requirements would be very useful.

I previously worked on Secure Transport, and it is very easy to use. Previously, flows were created directly on the tool, but now this is done through GitHub, making it easy to deploy the tool. However, deploying the flow through GitHub is not as straightforward.

To this point, Secure Transport is very stable and user-friendly.

We provide technical support related to the flows that are implemented, and we are implementing the flows while providing technical support to customers. For any issues related to the tool or application, we inform the customer's LC team, and they contact Axway directly.

I would rate Axway technical support as an eight. Sometimes some issues take time to resolve because some issues cannot be fixed quickly. That is why I give it an eight, but not all issues can be fixed immediately as the root cause must be identified before a fix can be applied. Being a tool, certain issues cannot be avoided.

I have used MOVEit, Axway CFT, and the MFT part of IICS before working with Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer.

I have also used Axway B2Bi.

I am not aware of how long it usually takes to deploy the solution fully because the deployment was completed prior to my joining the project, but it should not take much time. If everything is in place, the deployment will be completed within the working hours of the day.

Currently, I want to stay with Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer as it is part of a stable project, and the migration is ongoing. However, if any new opportunities or tools come up that could help me explore further, I would consider them.

The features I have found most valuable about Axway AMPLIFY API Management are the security features, which is number one as it enables me to create a much better, secure environment to base my API integration on. Then I also have the ability to have visibility and to monitor my flows in one place, which I think is important. Additionally, I use the whole platform as an integration layer, which I also think is important for our customers.

I assess the real-time visibility provided by Axway AMPLIFY API Management tools as very important for customers because now you can very easily problem-solve and troubleshoot and understand if a business flow did not happen. It gives you a good starting point to look for issues in the downstream.

I do see some room for improvement. The platform already integrates with API technology so you can kick off workflows from there. I think now it would be beneficial to improve integration capabilities, potentially add more built-in connectors, and include some AI capabilities. In the file transfer space, I think those flows are kind of preset. I think it has reached a level of maturity at this point in time, and the market also perceives that. A lot of customers are moving to Axway. I think they provide the features that the market needs today.

In one particular scenario that I have used Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer recently, we needed to pick out a specific type of file such as a .zip from a client location with a specific MB size at a particular scheduled time, then place it into our server where we could do modifications and then send it into another destination using Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer.

Using Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer, picking out a file was very difficult before, but now we can pick out a file with a specific extension, with a specific size, and at a scheduled time in any location. I love their UI, an easy-to-use interface, and a very detailed view of files on the reporting page. For example, I can see exactly what type of file we picked up, at what time, and whether it was sent to the destination or not, with their correct coloring codes, with green being successful and red being errored.

I find myself relying on everything with Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer most often. Everything is very useful because in day-to-day interactions with clients to show them what has been done and what has errored out, everything was useful.

We are using Axway AMPLIFY Managed File Transfer for managed file transfer, specifically for moving files from one system to another, across different entities globally, such as from New Zealand to Australia, Thailand, Japan, etc.

It is used for transporting gigabytes of data and supports the standard SFTP protocol among others.

It gives a good amount of storage capacity for a reasonable price and supports a lot of different protocols.

It allows for auto-scaling, although this may increase user charges. We receive good support from Axway under the platinum subscription which offers 24/7 support and additional benefits.

Their monitoring is not up to the mark and needs improvement. They should have enhanced auto-reconnection capabilities for interrupted file transfers and implement features allowing chunk movement of data. 

These improvements are necessary for situations where large files are being transported and might face interruptions, requiring operations intervention.

I use the solution in my company for regular file transfer as well as encryption and description of files. It is used as a platform providing users the facility for uploading and downloading files. The tool is mainly used as a postman for picking and dropping files to multiple locations and doing some transformation if required.

When it comes to the tool's scalability, I cannot say that everything can be done in the best version. There is always a scope for improvement. The tool can try to make it a little bit more flexible so that we can easily invoke the APIs, and in such a way, it can be made a little bit better. In general, everything is fine with respect to the tool's scalability.

My company has encountered some challenges. The tool does not allow the explicit port for some of the protocols, like FTP. We are still selling the tool to some of our clients. I feel they should allow us to do some testing for the SMB-related protocols or Windows path-related protocols, which we are not allowing, making it difficult for us to identify the issue with respect to those SMB protocols as well as Amazon S3's protocols. I believe it is an area that needs to be fixed so that it will help the end customer do those types of tests without the help of another external tool. As of now, I can remember only these two scenarios where improvements are needed.

I have been working with the tool for around six years. Once or twice in a six-year period, I faced some issues with the tool. Overall, everything is fine with the tool. When it comes to some error messages, they are not very prominent enough to be identified. Even if we raise the case with Axway's vendor, they suggest we upgrade the version rather than providing in-depth knowledge about what the issue is. I didn't see as much breakdown in the tool. Stability-wise, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

People need to have some prior experience because it is not very easy and cannot be used by everyone. A month of experience can help someone to do the fundamental stuff over there. For going in-depth, you need to have the experience, like, in order to debug the issues or check the logs and everything. Some experience is definitely required to use the tool.

I recommend the tool to others for managed file transfer or business-to-business integration.

It is a highly stable platform. It works fine if the embedded databases are maintained well. Otherwise, there can be database clashes and will need manual intervention. But if you have the enterprise version, the application will manage the issues. I rate the stability a nine out of ten.

AMPLIFY's license is a one-time investment. We need to renew the support services yearly. Overall, we have a comprehensive plan and do not need to pay anything extra.

It is a good application. They provide timely upgrades and patches. They offer multiple cloud version licensing plans, including subscription-based and one-time payment licensing models. I rate it a nine out of ten.

If I want to have a file here and I want to get it to someone, then we can use file transfer to encrypt the file from my location to the new location. It’s a managed file transfer. It’s a secure line. We can transfer one file or hundreds of files. We can also receive encrypted files. It’s always checking to see if the files we send or receive are 100% safe.

There's some programming you can use however you like. There are different loaders, from user passwords to connections to different levels of databases and you can use it from Oracle, Windows, you name it. It’s very flexible.

We are pretty happy with the solution. There haven’t been any shortcomings.

We only hope that they continue to keep updating the solution and improving the offering. They could always do more updates and releases.

I’ve been using the solution for four or five years.

The solution is very stable. We’ve used it for five years or so without issue. There are no bugs or glitches.

It is quite scalable. If a company needs to expand, it can do so.

The initial setup is very simple, very straightforward. We didn’t find it to be overly complex.
