| SACTA Architect at MRInformatica | 3.0 | I use VNC Connect for remote access to our labs due to its ease of use. While its performance is okay, I find the bandwidth slow and scalability lacking. Though I occasionally use Microsoft products, I recommend VNC Connect for Linux solutions. |
| Sys Admin at a tech services company with 11-50 employees | 3.5 | As a sysadmin managing 25 users remotely, I rely on VNC Connect for its ease of use and security. However, implementing single sign-on is challenging. Despite these issues, it's easier to implement than our backup solution and essential for my role. |
| Sys Admin at a tech services company with 11-50 employees | 4.5 | I rely on Real VNC for remote IT support, finding it reliable and consistently effective. My primary challenges include occasional graphic interface issues and difficulty connecting to un-prepped machines. Despite needing prior software installation for setup, I recommend it as our main go-to solution. |

I use the solution to get remote access to our labs.
The most valuable feature of the solution is its ease of use. The tool's performance is okay.
The bandwidth is slow. Improvements are required in the area of scalability since it is an aspect of the tool where there are shortcomings.
I have experience with VNC Connect.
It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a seven to eight out of ten.
The tool's scalability is bad. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a two to three out of ten.
My company is big, and around 100 users use the tool on their systems.
I have not contacted technical support for the solution.
Occasionally, I use products from Microsoft Windows. We use VNC Connect for Linux solutions.
As the tool is easy to use, I recommend using VNC Connect for other people.
The product is easy to deploy. Managing the tool is not so easy.
The solution can be deployed by myself.
I use the tool's free version.
There are no specific challenges I faced while using the product.
I haven't used the solution to support any AI-driven projects.
In our company, we need to have remote access to our labs because if not, people have to move to the laboratory, and we will spend a lot of time working.
I don't know the features of VNC Connect that improved our company's support capabilities.
I rate the tool a six out of ten.
I am a sysadmin for a company. I help manage 25 users, their laptops, and other equipment.
The product makes my life easier by providing rapid access to the users’ machines when I need to do maintenance or troubleshooting.
RealVNC is the primary method of remote access that we use. The product’s ease of use and security are valuable. The security architecture meets our minimum requirements.
We've been trying to implement single sign-on for more than a year and keep running into roadblocks. Ease of access is a bit of a challenge. We can't get the single sign-on feature to work, which to us is a security issue as much as it is a convenience issue. The solution must provide more ability to scan the status of the workstation that we're interfacing with and pull stats on the configuration of the machine.
I have been using the solution for more than ten years. I am using the latest version of the solution.
One of the primary reasons we keep using the tool is because it is fairly stable. It's unusual for us to have any issues with stability.
We have 25 users, including project managers, engineers, and technicians. If we hire more people, we might increase the usage. However, we don't typically hire many people at a time. It's usually one or two people at a time.
Customer support must be improved. I've had a ticket open for three weeks, and the support team has yet to respond to our request.
Negative
The initial setup is pretty straightforward for a machine we've previously set up. We have not set up a machine remotely, though. The only challenge with deployment is that I have to access the machines physically. I can't remotely configure a machine for RealVNC.
I do all the deployment. I'm the sysadmin for the company.
The tool is not cheap. However, as long as the product keeps doing its job and we don't have any issues with it, the pricing is not an issue.
We also use a backup solution in our organization. VNC Connect is easier to implement than our backup solution. All of my users are remote. I do not have physical access to any of those machines. I use these tools because I must have remote access to the machines. I can't do my job if I don't have remote access.
Other than convenience factors, for the most part, the tool does what we need. There are features that would be nice to have, but they are a little bit beyond the scope of a VNC-type application. The tool must provide more integration to enable configuration and compliance. I maintain the solution. The maintenance is not complicated.
The product provides access to a single workstation. It doesn’t broadcast to push out updates. We do not incorporate AI into our workflow. VNC Connect does what we need, and it lets me get down with my job. I don't know of any other tools with similar capabilities that are any cheaper.
I will recommend the solution to others, but it is not inexpensive. It may not be the right tool for some applications. However, it is the right tool for our environment and our application. Technically, I rate the product a nine or ten out of ten. Since we are facing some challenges with support, I rate the product a seven out of ten.
My company is a totally virtual company. All of my users are geographically remote from my location. Any IT support that we have to provide has to occur virtually.
All the patches, updates, or troubleshooting we do with a laptop is the primary go-to for a remote connect, for connecting to those machines is Real VNC.
The most valuable features are that it is consistently low profile and consistently works without hiccups or headaches.
It's reliable and trustworthy.
We occasionally have issues with the graphic software of the interface. It's a bit of a challenge.
They have a version that allows us to stand up a remote connection if we have not previously set the machine up to do that. This is an area where the VNC Connect doesn't support establishing a connection where we haven't set up software drivers on the machine beforehand.
In regards to scalability and finding a person's connection point on the dashboard, it can be an issue, but there are some tools to deal with that, we just haven't had to use them.
They have a new feature where they allow the Audio connection to use the microphone and the speaker on the laptop to talk to the end-user, which would save on having to have a phone call set up at the same time, but we haven't been able to get that working quite yet. There seem to be some issues with getting that implemented. It will require an update.
I have been working with VNC Connect for more than five years.
The software stability for the most part is good. They have regular updates.
I haven't had an issue with the scalability. We are 15 to 20 users. I have 50 licenses but haven't had to deal with hundreds or thousands.
From the usability standpoint, I don't see any issues.
When we do have an issue we contact technical support.
The technical support is responsive when we have an issue and we call, they have at least seen it or have a workaround or they have an update patch to deal with it.
The initial set up is straightforward as long as I have physical access to the machine.
If I don't have physical access to the machine, then it's a problem with VNC Connect because I have to install the software.
We don't allow our end-users to have admin access to the machine. I have to use a different way to connect to the machine if the machine wasn't previously set up by me or one of my team members.
I would recommend this solution. We have evaluated quite a few other tools and VNC Connect is our main go-to.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.
