Looking for recommendations for a well-priced remote/access management system for video editing

Hi,

I am looking to deploy a remote access/management system on a number of workstations primarily used for video editing.

I want to be able to allow editors to remotely login and take charge of the machine and upload/ download files also.

I would like to hear opinions on what is the best path to achieve this whether it be VPN or third party software.

Cost is also a factor.
