What is our primary use case?
I use the solution in my company to monitor our entire network infrastructure, including access points, core switches, firewalls, and everything else, which is currently maintained by Juniper. The overall control of the tool is available from the web portal, so Juniper Mist's dashboard gives access to all the information related to our company's network infrastructure through a cloud portal, making it very easy to manage and troubleshoot it.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that my company doesn't need a specific controller when using the tool since it is managed by the cloud infrastructure, making it very easy to maintain or troubleshoot, and in case of any failures, it is easy to replace the product. You don't need any physical engineers to help you with any issues related to the product since you can just actually go through a PnP process and configure the solution remotely.
What needs improvement?
I think for any corporate requirements, the tool has pretty much covered all the features. I don't think any improvements are needed in the tool currently. My company can still be considered as an early user of the product. As my company uses the product, we may come across some challenges with the solution.
Though certain security features are integrated into the product, my company has to always look forward to tightening certain security functionalities in the solution. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points for the last four months. My company is implementing and setting up the tool in a new facility. I am an end-user of the tool. I don't remember the version I used.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is a quite stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
The product can be used to manage quite a wide area, and it can also manage multiple sites with its scalability features, especially if you plan your infrastructure properly.
My company has around 20 Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points.
The tool is used twenty-four by seven.
My company does plan to increase the use of the product, specifically when we plan to expand our branch offices since we will have to deploy the product at multiple sites.
How are customer service and support?
My company is in touch with the product's partner, and so we don't have any problems because of which we have to contact the solution's technical team. I rate the technical support an eight out of ten.
It is too early to comment on whether my company needs to see any improvements in the capabilities of the product's support team since we have only used it for a few months. My company will require at least one here to be able to speak about what needs to be improved with the support team.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have experience with Cisco, Ruckus and HPE in a different organization. My current company purchases the product due to the ease of management it provides along with cloud management capabilities.
How was the initial setup?
I rate the product's initial setup phase as an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy.
My company has a partner who implemented the tool in our organization, and they had actually preconfigured everything before coming on-site. The deployment was quite an easy process because they created the standard templates in configuration, and the deployment was done smoothly.
The solution is deployed on an on-premises model. The tool's access points are on an on-premises model, but the control is on the cloud.
The solution can be deployed in less than a week.
Only four people were required to manage the product's deployment and maintenance. Two people were from Juniper's partner company, and there were two system integrators, along with two more from our company's team, to deploy the tool.
What was our ROI?
The product does not directly help our company to save money or costs.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I rate the product price as a six on a scale of one to ten, where one is inexpensive, and ten is expensive. It is a reasonably priced tool.
What other advice do I have?
The product has the ability to meet our company's needs and requirements, especially since it has been properly planned and implemented for our newsrooms and studios, where it is working seamlessly.
The product has improved certain areas for our company, especially when it comes to the area of being able to troubleshoot with a mid-level understanding of the network. A person can easily configure the tool as well as manage it even with a less skill set.
In terms of the challenges that may show up due to the product's integration capabilities, I would say that the product handles such issues very well. It is very easy to configure the product, especially since it is a new solution. There might be a little bit of a learning curve, but it is very user-friendly, so I can easily manage it.
People with basic network infrastructure can manage the tool's maintenance part, so there is no need for a person with a higher skill set since someone with a medium skill level can take care of the maintenance.
Not only for the maintenance of Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points but for our entire enterprise, my company uses around five to six people since we run three shifts on a twenty- four by seven basis as we function in the television industry.
The product is quite user-friendly and easy to deploy, so one should definitely consider buying it.
Though the product is not directly linked with the productivity aspect, it is essentially an essential feature required for any infrastructure, office or newsroom.
I rate the tool an eight out of ten.
