We performed a comparison between Nutanix Prism and Pandora FMS based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Virtualization Management Tools solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It also does a good job when it comes to optimizing performance with machine learning and AI. It's able to identify the VMs that are constrained and not constrained, and which ones are "bully" or not. It gives you a recommendation based on your usage. It learns your user environment."
"Nutanix Prism is very fast compared to VMware and whatever you need to do, you can do it quickly."
"The storage management is one of the best."
"Has a user-friendly UI with a centralized console."
"The GUI and the dashboard are impressive. I like that you can modify the GUI and the dashboard as per your requirements."
"Duplication and compression work for data in a hybrid solution."
"One valuable aspect of Nutanix Prism is how easy it is to set up. The setup process is useful to us because all we need to do is to set some variables and go with the recommended settings."
"The feature that stands out for me is the simplicity and ease of use. That is what comes to mind when I think about the Prism console. You don't need to be a core technical person to manage a cluster. Everything is available in the console itself."
"The network monitoring and configuration within this solution is very good."
"The solution is so lightweight that with only 4GB of ram, it allows keeping track of up to two hundred agents from a single console."
"The most valuable features are auto-discovery and automatic detection of the network topology and network monitoring."
"Pandora's architecture is interesting. It's open so you can easily extend and enhance it. It's simpler to customize Pandora compared to other solutions. It's also scalable enough to support large environments."
"You can configure several types of architecture for high availability or load balancing."
"Pandora FMS provides us with a general report (graphical) about all of the connected devices, which helps with planning new stations and tracking them."
"It provides us with proactive monitoring and is very easy to configure and maintain."
"This product has allowed us to identify and correct certain issues that were affecting our solution."
"The life cycle management or LCM feature is the most complicated. It takes really long and is unpredictable for our use cases. They should provide more detailed information about the kind of LCM to go for, various errors, and different kinds of tasks. For analytics for certain configurations, we require more details with the report. Sometimes, not all elements are present for support, management, and configuration. For troubleshooting, it would be very easy and useful if we can analyze log files directly from Prism, that is, not from the command line but directly from Prism."
"Perhaps the interface can be more intuitive."
"Performance metrics and analytics could be improved."
"The simplicity that Prism provides is something of a dual-edged sword. It can be almost too simple at times. When there is an issue and something is really wrong, it can make it a little more difficult to track it down because the Prism interface is very limited for drilling down into those highly technical or highly complicated errors."
"The replication we have does not have any backup systems built-in. We have to separate license records for backup, like onboard. We would like to have this in a future release."
"The solution should offer the ability to change network settings without removing the network card from the virtual machine."
"We definitely have some issues with Nutanix Prism. Our main issue is that we cannot operate the database. It would seem that less configuration would be desirable, because between Nutanix and the Oracle database on Windows, there tends to be problems."
"I would like to see the integration of native, one-click "open support ticket" functionality for errors generated by the system within Prism. Currently, we have to manually open a support ticket in a separate web browser and manually input the error information."
"It would be useful if Pandora FMS included an ISO image (or «software appliance») for each big company that leases virtual private machines (VPS), just like in AWS."
"I find that this software is resource heavy, and demands a lot of processing capacity."
"The price for Pandora FMS is expensive."
"I would like for the solution to be faster and have a better tolerance between parallel servers for Pandora and Pest Control."
"Pandora FMS is relatively new, and the interface with the older version crashes at times. We have several different operating systems, such as Linux and Windows, and Pandora does not run as well in these."
"I would like to have a dashboard with all assets displayed, with a quick hover-over status."
"When it comes to the definition of local Software Agents for the first time in the open-source version, it can become very tedious."
"This solution requires proper training to get 100% out of it."
