Senior Systems and Information Analyst with 1,001-5,000 employees
Creates user defined screens, which are then reportable
Flexibility in terms of customisation does come at the expense of ease of use. It is not the easiest system to manage from a system administrator point of view. Whilst obviously not unmanageable, you will need to develop expertise in teams to manage the back end of the system internally within the organisation.

Centralized global HR data has improved expense control and supports secure employee management
The features of SAP HCM are valued by me as it had a clear idea about what was expected from the user point. The person or the application has a lot of features and it had actually all the information needed from our part. That aspect is nice. Apart from that, the T-codes are really helpful to understand which particular option we need when we put the T-code in the search box. The stability and reliability of SAP HCM product are really nice, very helpful, and secured. It has no point of leakage and is mostly reliable, as most companies and organizations prefer SAP over many tools. As for security, it's already secured from the beginning itself, and that is the only reason our organization relies on it. Since it's very useful at a global scale, it is a very useful tool and is very easy to access and handle.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"MyView is easy to configure, and Auto Enrolment is excellent as you can automate letters and templates."
"The ability to create user defined screens, which are then reportable, allows us to capture specialised information that would not necessarily be considered core HR data for most organisations, and as a university, the ability to produce our HESA return using the dedicated module is invaluable."
"I would recommend ResourceLink and it is a highly customisable solution to any organisation, but they would need to employ a System Analyst to fully implement the system due to the size and complexities."
"HCM is a very important module that each organization should want to use. It will help any organization to calculate and control the cost of their human resources."
"They have some interesting features in the learning space."
"I think HCM was the most stable for me...It is a very scalable product."
"SAP HCM is a competitive and comprehensive tool that covers major programs in the enterprise and supports the global process."
"SAP Payroll module is one of the best in the market and is integrated with benefits, time, etc."
"SAP HCM has a good performance."
"The stability of the solution is good."
"The payroll operations I’ve managed within this and other organizations involve substantial numbers, demonstrating that SAP HCM stable product. As for talent management, we’ve utilized consulting services and supplemented them with various in-house developments. Moreover, we are exploring innovative AI, including chatbots and AI-driven use cases."

Cons

"Their product is not overly intuitive when setting up new processes, but MyView is very easy to use."
"Customer service is questionable at best recently; we have experienced issues with patches and installation of additional modules, which has caused delays on some projects and meant senior managers of the school have had to be involved in escalating issues."
"Leave Management needs to be significantly enhanced and ACs need to be trained fully on the product."
"SAP HCM needs to be more customizable to fit unique organizational processes."
"The Core Talent Modules should have been improved, but SAP has introduced SuccessFactors, which has the best solution for Talent Management."
"System usability is a challenge."
"We are not planning to continue to use it at all. We are moving away from it entirely."
"In my experience, SAP HCM and similar products are very good, but the focus now should be on providing features to encourage employee adoption. For example, accessing pay slips is a task that naturally drives adoption. However, AI tools that can prompt employees at the right time through the right application are needed for actions such as conducting surveys or gathering performance feedback."
"SAP HCM's long and tedious transactions can be improved."
"The payroll area for managing employee salaries has room for improvement; Payroll area for managing employee salary, regarding SAP HCM system, is an area with complex issues because Italian tax and labor legislation and regulations are often changed; so several implementations of this module need custom integration from a consultant."
"The extensibility of the integration could be improved."

"The pricing is really high."
"SAP is extremely expensive. The integration costs and customization costs are also a lot."
"For implementation, SAP offers little support unless you buy SAP Safeguarding from SAP Consulting."
