Global deduplication, stable, and flexible licensing options
I give the solution ten out of ten. This solution offers one dashboard to manage the BC con, disaster recovery plan, DR solution, and backup as well as different licensing options, unlike other OEM products. We are the system integrators for our clients, so we design the solution as per the customer's requirements. We provide several solutions options to our clients such as Druva inSync, Druva Phoenix, and Arcserve UDP with the specifications and the client makes a decision based on their requirements. I would advise potential users to first be clear on whether they are going to use it as a backup solution for compliance purposes, just wanting to take the backups of files and servers, or for instant recovery. The IQ and RPO discussion with our customers usually takes 30 minutes. I recommend this solution.

Enhances data protection strategies and ensures the reliability of backups with helpful support
The features we have found most valuable in NAKIVO Backup & Replication include its cost-effectiveness, seamless integrations, comprehensive functionalities, and ease of installation and management. The pricing model is very competitive, providing excellent value for the robust features offered. Its seamless integration with our VMware infrastructure ensures smooth operation without any compatibility issues. The wide range of functionalities, including incremental and full backups, storage optimization, and disaster recovery options, meets all our backup needs comprehensively. Moreover, the simplicity of installation and the intuitive user interface have made it easy for our team to quickly set up and manage the backups without requiring extensive training.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a very stable solution...It is a scalable solution."
"The product's deployment process was straightforward."
"It is easy to configure."
"There are many backup options available in this solution. For example, you are able to do backups of servers, email, OST files, and users. This is a complete backup solution which is very good."
"Our customers are happy with the product’s functionality."
"Arcserve UDP has a good configuration and user interface. It makes the job of an administrator easy."
"The solution has no limitations because it does backup for Linux and Windows."
"The ease of use is the best feature of the product."
"It has saved us numerous times from power outages and server failure."
"We have found all the features of Nakivo to be useful and the solution is easier to use compared to Proxmox. It is user-friendly, we are very satisfied."
"The user interface is good, and it's user-friendly. I also like its usability with hyper-convergence products like Nutanix and others in the data infrastructure."
"We have been able to set up a failover site that has replicas of our critical VMs."
"The ability to restore in a catastrophic event is priceless, since every company must use a backup solution of some sort."
"I could install and configure the trial version in maybe half an hour and had a successful backup of our file server on the same night."
"The product is good for protecting very low-budget offices, whereas other solutions fail in terms of cost and footprint of the VMs involved."
"It is flexible."

Cons

"It should be easier to switch between backup locations. We have multiple data storage locations and sometimes one of those storages need to be replaced. It would be nice if they made it easier to reconfigure the backup configuration."
"The problem is just reliability. If the promises in the marketing material were realized in real life, it would be the perfect solution, but it's just the reliability issues."
"We cannot restore each user's mailbox. Each user's mailbox should be independently restorable. Also, this solution is very slow. If you select all of the servers, it runs for a long time... It needs to be faster. Finally, If anything happens to one server we should be able to switch to another server."
"The product is not user-friendly."
"The solution can use a lot of bandwidth when the scheduling is not done, it should auto-schedule itself. For example, if there are 50 users connected in the network at 12 o'clock and the backup is not scheduled. At this time the network offices are going to have performance issues when it is doing a backup. Having a feature to auto-schedule a time when the network is not being used often would be beneficial."
"I don't know whether the tool has VMware integrations. It would be good to cover this area if it doesn't have those."
"A lot of their new technologies are not very good."
"They could work on their marketing approach. I don't see many people leveraging it."
"At the moment I am pleased with what Nakivo does but I would like more reporting functions and if possible, integration with my RMM system."
"So far, there is no version that supports Polish. If such a version existed, many customers in our region would decide to purchase and implement this solution."
"I need no more valuable features for backs-up. I have not yet tried the latest release, however, I have all the features that I need."
"When you schedule some jobs, you should be able to see a list of the jobs contained within each. You have to open up the editor to see what is inside. You must click through and edit stuff. Each time, it asks you to save or discard changes. It's very annoying. You only see the name of the scheduled job, and you need to edit it to see what's it's inside."
"There are features that we would like to be integrated such as the ability to exclude directories, the creation of an image for bare metal restore as well as the creation of Plesk integration to use NAKIVO as a Plesk backup tool."
"Automatic updates do not work, and every update has to be done manually."
"I would like to have a built-in SNMP client, which is important if we want to monitor it using Zabbix, Nagios, or another monitoring solution."
"It would be helpful to be able to have a custom footprint so that only the required features are installed."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is a bit pricey, considering the reliability problems. If the tool worked flawlessly, the price would be fair, even cheap."
"I feel that the product is fairly priced."
"The pricing of the product can be considered to be reasonable enough for the Asian region."
"Normally our customers purchase the premium plus license, rather than the standard one, which provides more options."
"The price is based on the number of sockets. We use a four-socket price that includes two servers and the cost is $4,375."
"The price of StorageCraft ShadowProtect is competitive in the market."
"I rate the product price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
"The solution is expensive."
"This product provides good value for the price."
"From the perspective of Indian users, the cost is a little bit high."
"The licensing model is crystal clear on the website."
"The prices are high."
"We use a perpetual license that is priced well."
"Regarding the licensing, I would advise speaking to the Nakivo representatives and you can get the best option for your environment."

"Pricing is easy to understand and very affordable."
