SnapLogic and Matillion Data Productivity Cloud compete in the data integration tools category. SnapLogic has an advantage for its low-code development and variety of supported languages and connectors, making it versatile. However, for AWS users, Matillion's seamless integration with AWS services gives it an edge.
Features: SnapLogic offers a low-code environment with comprehensive Snaps, allowing for straightforward complex data workflows. It stands out with rapid deployment and flexible system connections, aiding easy automation and real-time data transfer. Matillion focuses on ETL capabilities, particularly its integration with AWS Redshift, and offers unique mid-pipeline sampling, beneficial for agile project management. Its scalable pricing model based on team size fits well for larger teams.
Room for Improvement: SnapLogic could add more pre-built integrations, enhance API monitoring, and improve data flow transparency. It needs to address latency issues and make cost-effective improvements. Matillion should increase real-time data handling capabilities, offer more frequent feature updates, and expand user-friendly documentation and database integrations.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: SnapLogic supports Hybrid Cloud, Public and Private Clouds, offering user flexibility. Their customer service feedback is mixed, with responsiveness praised but communication needing improvement. Matillion primarily connects with Public Cloud environments, especially AWS, and receives commendations for its customer support, particularly from customer success managers, enhancing deployment processes.
Pricing and ROI: SnapLogic's pricing is based on usage tiers, providing moderate costs for complex integrations without code, resulting in positive ROI through automation savings and reduced development time. Matillion's pricing via AWS Marketplace depends on team size and usage; though costs can be high, it offers competitive rates for large-scale operations, delivering good ROI even in high-volume scenarios.
Consequently, we adjusted our processes to use Matillion Data Productivity Cloud only for extraction and ingestion, while Snowflake handled all transformations and jobs.
SnapLogic is really helpful and processes in very little time, so it doesn't take much time compared to any legacy tool.
SnapLogic has helped automate manual data transfers significantly and improved our workflow efficiency, reducing integration development timelines considerably, which reflects a good ROI.
They communicate effectively and respond quickly to all inquiries.
Some SMEs are allotted for the organization, so in case of any issue, we have their email IDs to contact them for support, including SMEs and community.
The technical support from SnapLogic is excellent, and I would give it a complete ten.
Customer support scales well; as pipeline volume grows, we have been able to add more integrations and users without performance degradation.
Depending on the nature of data sets, volume, and mixture of different data, the scalability could be improved as manual code writing is still required.
The autoscale process works well, allowing the system to start another node automatically if the first machine reaches 80% capacity.
I rate the scalability of SnapLogic as eight out of ten.
But recently, in a year, I haven't found many performance issues in SnapLogic.
I would rate the stability of SnapLogic as nearly ten out of ten.
The main areas for improvement are AI features and scalability.
Connections to BigQuery for extracting information are complex.
If the AI capabilities and integrations were more intuitive and easy to learn for new users, it would be greatly beneficial.
They can improve more visuals, with graphical representations, such as how many things can be added, how many users can be added or dropped, and how the back-end nodes can be graphically shown in a better way.
Some advanced features lack detailed documentation, and debugging complex pipelines could be more intuitive.
Matillion Data Productivity Cloud offers discounts and special deals, especially when dealing with high-volume clients or fewer existing clients in specific regions, like Spain.
The pricing is moderate, neither expensive nor cheap.
I would say the pricing is on the higher side, but it aligns with the capabilities offered for mid- to large integrations.
There would be only one point of improvement if the price could be lower.
SnapLogic is positioned at around seven or eight out of ten in terms of pricing.
The predefined connectors eliminate the need to write code for connectivity.
Matillion Data Productivity Cloud is effective for ingest functions, particularly when moving information to Snowflake and performing many transformations.
The drag-and-drop builder and pre-built snaps have helped our team through a very low-code approach, making it easier for us to develop fast pipelines and be more agile compared to the heavier integration platforms we used before.
I also like the whole child-parent pipeline feature; it allows me to break up a process into smaller pieces and then have one big pipeline that controls these smaller pipelines.
It's moving into AI, so we can create AI agents with LLM models. We can use most of the LLM such as Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI, Azure AI.
