A low-performing integration tool
We use it as an in-house back-type integration tool. It allows us to have different integrations between different systems It does not perform well. It needs more reusable components that are unlimited in time. Furthermore, it relies on the files systems and does not create components, so it is…

Interactive dashboards have transformed reporting and now support real-time data-driven decisions
One area that could improve in TIBCO Spotfire is performance with very large data sets. I use the advanced scripting feature less often, but the visualization and dashboard features are very useful in my daily work with TIBCO Spotfire. TIBCO Spotfire can be improved in handling very large data, faster dashboard loading, simpler advanced scripting, and better customization options for visualizations. Integration with some external tools in TIBCO Spotfire can be smoother, and the user interface for advanced features could be more beginner-friendly. A more intuitive navigation system, a cleaner interface, and an easier drag-and-drop option for report building would also make it more useful.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The stability of the solution is OK."
"Being able to create dashboards on the fly while stakeholders give requirements in real-time is extremely valuable in advertising."
"I would recommend this product because it is intuitive with a fast learning curve and very powerful."
"It has an extremely good graphic ability, so as to present the data in a way that's very meaningful to the end user."
"It has helped our organization become more agile."
"In my previous role, we replaced Cognos with Spotfire and the benefits were plentiful, including but not limited to: Improved types of reporting/visualisations, significantly more malleable than Cognos, and advanced analysis features."
"The best features TIBCO Spotfire offers are its ease of use and the extensive range of capabilities it provides."
"We particularly like the data angling feature of this solution. This gives us the ability to work on data transformations, join files, and carry out other data preparation tasks all in a single tool."
"I think having Python included is a big win because you get the chance to customize your algorithm and your in-house development without having a big dependency on a third party."

Cons

"It is not performing well."
"It does not perform well. It needs more reusable components that are unlimited in time."
"I would like to see the visualization library in this solution expanded, so that I can increase what I can offer to our clients."
"My biggest gripe with Spotfire is the lack of customization."
"Print capability and trigger-based events."
"I have run into issues with large datasets (>2M records), and attempting to build relationships between tables for use in a single visualization."
"The look and feel is not very customizable out of the box, which is the cherry on the cake when it comes to analazing data."
"TIBCO Spotfire can be improved in several areas. The UI can be enhanced, and the usage and flexibility need to be better compared to other analytical tools."
"I would like more easy-to-implement analytical algorithms. At the moment they include things like forecasts and regressions. They need to add a lot more of these types of things to the product because not everyone is a data scientist."
"Room for improvement is in comparison with other tools. I need to see more options that do not require scripting in the tool, and I need more enhancements on the statistical server side."
