It provides a stable SAP environment, but deployment does require someone with experience.
It offers High Availability for many applications, including Oracle and SAP environment In my last job, it provided a great SAP environment that was stable and running on Veritas Cluster. I've used it for six years. It's not so easy in some cases, and you will need some experience. There were…

Backup operations have become reliable and reporting now simplifies hybrid cloud protection
Veeam Data Platform has Veeam Enterprise Manager as well as Veeam ONE as valuable features, which allow us to generate various kinds of reports that are required for the customer. Instant VM Recovery is a good feature of the high-speed recovery features in Veeam Data Platform, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is also a good feature. Ransomware protection is a good feature added in Veeam Data Platform from version 12 onwards, and the ability to create immutable repositories is also a good feature in Veeam. The analytics part of Veeam Data Platform is a good solution because I have worked on various backup technologies such as EMC NetWorker and NetBackup. However, I have not used the analytical parts currently but will check it out. Streamlining processes as well as saving money are benefits that Veeam Data Platform provides for the end user, as it allows for application-aware backups and database backups without the need for various kinds of licenses that other backup software requires. Veeam offers socket-based licenses, instance-based licenses, and capacity-based licenses, which is a great feature.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It integrates well with other solutions."
"The solution does a good job with VM backups."
"It's scalable."
"Once you get it set up, everything is smooth, and the recovery is excellent."
"One of the most valuable features is the incremental backup. It is, of course, perfect because you have a lot of restore points, but you don't need all the space. The stability is also perfect."
"Its stability and scalability were the main reasons for going for this solution. It is highly scalable, and its stability is also powerful. It has a friendly interface, and its monitoring and performance are the best in the market."
"Veeam Data Platform copies data very efficiently."
"Veeam Is very useful for most environments and can scale up in most environments - such as Amazon or Azure."
"The solution is simple to use."

Cons

"It could be more stable and more secure."
"I would prefer it if the backup console did not require use of a specified program but rather that it could be opened from any website."
"The interface and cluster environments could be improved in the future as presently they are using agent interface instead of user interface. Also, the backup for the Oracle WAC environment can be improved."
"The navigation of menus can be difficult to find what you're looking for sometimes."
"They need to focus more on cloud backup."
"Perhaps the interface could be improved, though it has always been fine for me."
"When in a domain, the virus can easily attack the Veeam server, something which happened to us."
"Sometimes, it's a little difficult for me to use its user interface. Its scope is very big with a lot of tuning, settings, and so on. If it's difficult for me, it must also be difficult for our customers."
"The initial setup of Veeam Backup Replication is straightforward. The process took approximately two days. The setup could be streamlined to take less time."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our clients pay for licensing on a yearly basis."
"It is more expensive than other solutions."
"Room for improvement is actually more in the way of licensing. The really good and useful features are in the Enterprise plus edition, and that one is really expensive."
"The price is a bit high. Licensing type is VMware friendly, so it is easy."
"The licensing fee depends on the licensing model we choose."
"It is an affordable solution."
"Compared to other enterprise solutions, Veeam Backup & Replication generally offers a competitive price point. However, there has been a noticeable and concerning increase in pricing, particularly in the year 2023. The rate of price hikes has been significant, with prices escalating three times during the first quarter of the year. This trend indicates a substantial shift in the pricing structure, which may have implications for customers and their budgeting considerations."
"Our licensing fees are paid yearly and the cost is about $12,000 Swiss Francs ($17,400 USD)."
"Veeam products are less expensive than other products. The licensing costs are low and they're pretty affordable."
