Has strengthened privileged access control and improved audit visibility through session monitoring and password rotation
On the identity product side, it is awesome. However, they can improve in the documentation parts. For example, if there is a migration process, I can see the maximum customers are moving from self-hosted to on-premises or from on-premises to the cloud. It would be helpful if they released a generalized document for processes such as migration. A clear overview document would assist us in understanding more about the tool, configurations, and automations to enhance our security. Regarding the initial setup of CyberArk Identity, I faced some challenges. At some points, I could not find proper documentation for deploying, enhancing, or integrating with other components. I could not find the proper documentation in the community portal.

Improved user experience with seamless integration and easy installation
The feature that I mostly valued is the ease of installation on different systems, especially on Windows. Additionally, it is very beneficial for deploying single sign-on sessions between different windows on a web browser, provided I am connected to the right identity provider. That seamless integration significantly improves user experience and efficiency.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features of CyberArk Identity are its ability to control access to administrative staff."
"I like the RBAC (Role-Based Access Control). It basically involves defining various roles, and then simply assigning those roles to users."
"As soon as it is implemented, it fundamentally changes how users access systems, providing immediate security benefits."
"The best features in CyberArk Identity that I appreciate most are the recent updates that have added features in the cloud privilege environment, including Secure Infrastructure Access, Secure Cloud Access, and Secure Web Sessions."
"Overall, I would rate CyberArk Identity a nine out of ten."
"The initial setup is straightforward, and it takes me up to an hour and a half."
"The user self-service program and the Office 365 provisioning service feature are the most valuable. It is a very easy and feature-rich solution that gives priority to the users and security."
"Identity is the tool that offers the most seamless integration with UiPath Orchestrator and the most utility from an automation perspective."
"The security and single sign-on (SSO) features are the most valuable."
"It is very scalable. We have a very large customer base: 75 million customers."
"It provides end users with SSO to our applications – they log in once and they can access all of our applications."
"With Single Sign-On, we don't have to do anything in our system, and after they deploy the application, everything works seamlessly."
"This is the only access management product that I have come across which configures end-to-end and hosts resources."
"Segregation duties is another great benefit. It has allowed us to automate the process of creating user accounts really well."
"It is pretty easy to learn."
"Obviously, the most valuable feature is the flexibility of the solution, it being able to be integrated with a number of applications and solutions, and also the configurability of the solution."

Cons

"More integrations would be better."
"The tool has issues with the third-party SMS gateway. The solution has its own SMS gateway. Integration support is a challenge when we don’t use their SMS gateway. The tool also needs to improve its scalability."
"CyberArk Identity is kind of expensive."
"More integrations would be better."
"It was pretty complex to implement CyberArk Identity. We had some help from a partner, and that helped a lot. But even for the partner, it was really difficult to streamline the process of implementing."
"The solution could be easier to use and I found it to be very complex involving many steps."
"This solution has MDM (Mobile Device Management) features, but they are weak."
"The product needs to leverage the cloud more, especially in the financial sector, where cloud adoption might be limited. Proper reporting within the cloud is essential. The tool should be more user-friendly to expedite access for users. The current agent-based system poses challenges if a user loses access to the server, making tasks difficult to perform. It should also improve technical support."
"Upgrade planning is extensive and costly and involves a lot of applications, so we’d like to see that improved."
"As we are moving in to the mobility space, this is where we really see SiteMinder and their other product really come together to provide a solution base to a different area where the IoT is coming, the different business communications are happening. All of those things require authentication and we really want to see this product grow into that role."
"It may be a good product, but I'd advise staying away from customizing it."
"We installed one version and there is a bug in it; from a customer perspective I would want that particular issue to be fixed rather than getting an answer that the bug will be fixed in the next version."
"The installation process was complex. There are a lot of different moving pieces, and the main complaint is that it's hard to automate any of it."
"Yes it can be complex, I think that's one area we have already given feedback to the product management, that is a little complex to get the set up and get it going and the upgrade process is very complex."
"When the client approaches CA, it provides an answer that is more product-oriented, rather than solution-oriented, so there is a communication gap."
"I'd like to see a rework of the user directory configuration."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is acceptable. It is worth considering what we are protecting with the amount charged."
"I would rate the tool’s pricing a seven out of ten. The product’s pricing is expensive and is on a yearly basis. You will need to pay around 10,000 GBP for 500 users."
"There is an initial license and then there is a subscription needed."
"I think it is a fairly priced tool. I rate the tool between six and seven on a scale of one to ten where one is expensive, and ten is cheap."
"We find that the pricing and licensing of this solution is adequate, as compared to the other competitors in the market."
"The pricing of CyberArk Identity is competitive."
"The solution is cheap and I rate its pricing an eight out of ten."
"It's not that affordable compared to Delinea or other products. They're less expensive and allow more customization. For the cost, it is expensive."
"The solution's pricing is competitive."
"Symantec Siteminder is expensive; they could definitely do better on the price."
"CA solutions are generally expensive but for the customer the ROI is big."
"The licensing is fair for this solution."
"I recommend conducting a PoC on every available product before choose one."
"The price is quite comparable to the other enterprise-level solutions in that market."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"Siteminder is a little costly. You pay for licensing, and they offer packages, so if you have less users, then you have to buy different products at different prices. If you have more of a user base, then the package is different. They also include other features—for example, if you have a database and you're using Siteminder, then it's good to use a Semantic-specific database, but if you are using less, then you have to purchase the database separately. Whereas if you are going for a bigger license, then it comes within the package. It depends on which plan you are using."
