Ability to segregate data, well-suited for medium enterprises and installation is quick
We have some challenges. If we look at the challenges we face in the market, there are a few products like Sophos, where there are features of MaaS360, and the IBM EDR product, ReaQta. So, there are features from both ReaQta and MaaS360 available in Sophos, as well as a few other products, which we have challenges in replacing. MaaS360 definitely caters to a few of the requirements, but when someone is going for a solution, all the features are not available in MaaS360. It is like a combo, MaaS360, and IBM ReaQta, that is, EDR, ReaQta. Both of them, together as a combo plan, actually offer a very good proposition in terms of market competitors. There are a few products like Sophos and another product which have features from both endpoint detection and response and mobile device management. Because we have two different products with those features, we face challenges in proposing a particular product for the client. It is like a marketing challenge. The way other competitor products are available in the market. So it is better to have a different positive team, but, again, to remain in competition and have better scalability. So, IBM needs to integrate a few features that the competitors have in their products. No doubt, this is a different product, MaaS360. We call it MDM. We call it endpoint mobile device management. Then we call it different names that MaaS360 falls into. But when we are talking about competitor products, to remain in the competition, you need to have features that others provide. IBM surely has those features in other products, but not in MaaS360. The only challenge was replacing already existing competitor products with MaaS360. So, that’s the only area where we struggle because they always come with those requirements that they are already getting in the competitor’s product, which is not available in IBM’s MaaS360. So this product lacks some features, like Unified Endpoint Management.

Feature-rich, easy to use, and has responsive technical support
We are working on the proof of concept for both MobileIron and Workspace ONE. We are only testing MobileIron and Workspace ONE. After that, we will decide which device to use. Workspace ONE by VMware Similarly, we will use MobileIron as a mobile device management tool, allowing us to manage our endpoints remotely. So far, we have not had any issues with VMware, and we have resolved some, if not all, of the issues. I have been testing with VMware Workspace ONE for the same amount of time as MobileIron UEM, three weeks. We are using the latest version, and it is deployed on a public cloud. The cloud provider is VMware. I have also been working with Google Chrome. Google Workspace is an email production tool provided by Google. We don't have a firewall because we're in the cloud right now. We have no on-premises network and all of our systems are hosted in the cloud.

Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Pros

"We've found the scalability to be very good."
"It is a stable solution that functions twenty-four hours and seven days a week."
"It helped us reduce the number of support incidents by limiting users' access to device configurations."
"Mobile Device Management, Secure Productivity Suite, and document management are valuable features."
"The tool's most valuable features are application, distribution, and security. It helps to block user access."
"Asset management is the most valuable feature and integral for device inventory."
"MaaS can force people to lock their phones. Not everyone likes having a PIN and other security features on their phones, but this sets a requirement that you can't get your emails unless you have a PIN on your phone. That was a good feature, and we were able to easily increase the PIN from four digits to six digits. Overall, it was pretty user-friendly."
"The solution is quite stable."
"The user interface is user-friendly."
"The company provides great customer service."
"The most valuable features of MobileIron UEM are tunneling and enterprise integration."
"The most valuable feature is that everything is in one place, which makes it easy to manage."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"It's effective in what it is able to achieve and it's easy to use."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"Stable product that's easy to set up compared to other MDM products."
"The feature I like the most is that we can perform remote tasks. If we want to retire or wipe out personal data or corporate data from a device, we can use Microsoft Intune remotely, and with the click of a button, data is removed automatically. Nothing needs to be done from the end-user side."
"Intune has significantly benefited our organization by providing comprehensive visibility into our device ecosystem."
"The overall user experience is quite nice. I have no complaints from end users regarding their devices enrolled in Intune."
"The interface is user-friendly, and the reporting tool works in real-time."
"Stable solution at a good price."
"Intune's unified endpoint management platform is invaluable."
"The most useful features in Microsoft Intune are the policy enforcement and conditional access. These features make our operations easier from a company perspective."

Cons

"The interface is clunky and the layout is a bit outdated. Also, I don't think MaaS360 has as many features as Intune. It doesn't integrate with Office as seamlessly as Intune does, which isn't surprising, given that Intune and Office are Microsoft products."
"The look needs to be updated and it could be simpler to use."
"The reporting and alerting could be improved."
"The UI has room for improvement."
"We opted to go with Microsoft Intune because it just seemed to be a more mature and comprehensive enterprise solution, whereas IBM MaaS360 didn't seem to have the necessary breadth to manage all of our equipment. Along with laptops, I've had some BYODs. IBM MaaS360 just didn't seem as mature in our assessment."
"IBM MaaS360 needs to have stronger points when it comes to the area of BYOD."
"Zero day support is something they can work on. They can make it a little bit more user-friendly."
"Its integration with Microsoft Teams could be better."
"We would like the initial setup to be simpler."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti. The test team or the testing procedures are flawed because they release new versions with numerous basic issues."
"The MDM, asset management, and software spend management are areas that could have more improvement in Ivanti Neurons for MDM."
"UI needs an upgrade, feels very outdated."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti."
"The interface is complicated and not very easy to use."
"The integration between the MobileIron and Advanced Neurons isn't completely in sync, and we're still working on that."
"MobileIron UEM could improve the monitoring of devices."
"It would be awesome if Microsoft opened their API so we could filter more properties. If we have to do anything outside of Intune that requires a third-party solution to talk back to it, we're very limited in what we can do."
"Reporting in Microsoft solutions is pathetic. With Intune, I'm getting a free inventory tool, but I don't get a reporting tool. When I go to Intune, I can see one machine's entire data in terms of the hardware and the software running on it, but I cannot generate a report for all the machines in the organization. The reporting is the only feature holding back the functionality that is already there."
"The solution could be improved by the opportunity to connect third-party application databases, such as Chocolatey or another setup store, to Intune."
"It would help if administrators could pinpoint the exact location of a stolen device to help law enforcement retrieve it and apprehend the suspect."
"The reporting is subpar. That's the only issue we have with Intune. We use another solution for that purpose."
"I would like to see Intune improve its handling of hybrid domain joins."
"One thing I would suggest is that servers are not getting managed through Microsoft Intune."
"Microsoft Intune is not as fast and extensive as traditional solutions such as SCCM and others."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate IBM MaaS360’s pricing a six out of ten."
"I feel the pricing to be very high."
"It requires zero investment in infrastructure since it is 100% cloud."
"The solution is expensive."
"Price is something for which we are always under pressure. If we have to look at the MaaS deployment, the price definitely has to come down. This is clearly one of the areas that we will have to work on, not only as a provider to our customers but also as a consumer of this service."
"There are other solutions cheaper than IBM MaaS360, such as Microsoft Intune."
"IBM products are a little pricey."
"Fees are monthly and it's approximately $8 per user."
"My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
"The price of MobileIron UEM is very good."
"With our standard E5 agreement with Microsoft, there have been no pricing concerns. Introductory professional services, like a fast-track service, were included with our E5 membership, and there have been no additional costs."
"The product is offered as part of a Microsoft standard bundle. The pricing can be competitive to Airwatch, and Maas360."
"It's bundled with Business Premium and an E3 license, which is beneficial. If you have to pay extra, it's pricey, but with the bundled package, it's acceptable. They recently increased the Business Premium pricing, which we don't appreciate. The price increase and yearly commitment are causing some problems for us."
"It's a bit expensive from a licensing perspective, especially as we look to have organizations with tenants across the globe."
"Intune is included in the Microsoft 365 licensing package that we have."
"Its price is quite okay. I wish they provide certain additional features with the same license."
"It is not expensive."
"Intune is cost-effective as it is included in some of the Office 365 packages."
