Netwrix Endpoint Protector and GitGuardian Platform compete in data protection and secrets management. Netwrix has a competitive edge with robust device control and cross-platform support, while GitGuardian excels in secrets detection accuracy.
Features: Netwrix Endpoint Protector offers robust device control, content-aware protection, and enforced encryption across Windows, macOS, and Linux. Its granular policy management excels in controlling IT environments. GitGuardian Platform focuses on secrets detection with scanning capabilities and automatic alerts, highly regarded for its detection accuracy and remediation.
Room for Improvement: Netwrix Endpoint Protector could improve network-level DLP, SaaS support, and policy customization, especially for Linux. GitGuardian might enhance processing speed and user management, focusing on reducing false positives and improving scan visualization. Both platforms should expand integration and offer more customization.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Both solutions are available in on-premises and cloud versions, with Netwrix showing more flexibility in hybrid setups. Customer service for both is satisfactory, but GitGuardian is praised for prompt support, while Netwrix can improve its technical support response time.
Pricing and ROI: Netwrix Endpoint Protector is budget-friendly with competitive pricing and positive ROI in data protection, suitable for smaller businesses. GitGuardian can be expensive for larger teams but is valuable for its secrets management reliability, providing significant ROI through data breach risk mitigation.
For the small project I was working on, using the basic tier provided a huge improvement at zero cost.
In terms of return on investment with Cloudflare, it costs my time to set them up, but basically once they're set up, it's done.
I can certainly say that we have saved significant time and resources in terms of people and automation.
The majority of our incidents for critical detectors and important secret types are remediated automatically or proactively by developers through GitGuardian's notification system, without security team involvement.
Cloudflare does not offer hands-on technical support to fix customer problems but rather a self-service model.
I would rate the technical support with Cloudflare as excellent every time I've had to call them.
I have primarily worked not with the tool's customer support but with the product's sales engineers and technical sales engineers, who seem to know their stuff.
It effectively helps us with credentials security and has been performing satisfactorily.
I would rate their technical support a nine out of ten.
I would rate the technical support as excellent.
I would rate the technical support for Netwrix Endpoint Protector as a nine because we have trained engineers, and I am also trained.
I never needed to contact the vendor for technical support because we faced very few issues.
It is a SaaS tool, but the fact that they have workloads deployed across the world proves that it is a highly scalable tool.
The tool offers very good performance, even during high-traffic periods.
I rate the solution’s scalability an eight out of ten.
In terms of scalability, I would rate it around a ten out of ten, as it handles all the repositories and commit activity we have.
I would rate it a ten out of ten for scalability.
Currently, what GitGuardian Platform is doing works effectively.
Everything starts from the endpoint, and we maintain the Endpoint DLP in many cases while working alongside existing DLP systems.
This solution is scalable because prior to onboarding it, we took references from the vendor, the implementation vendor, and the CoSoSys team.
I rate the solution’s stability an eight out of ten.
The service is very stable with no impacts during high-traffic periods.
We set up a lot of the repository, so GitGuardian is a required check.
The SaaS platform has experienced two significant moments of downtime or instability in the last six months, requiring notices and retrospectives.
I would rate the stability of the GitGuardian Platform as excellent with no downtimes.
The product has been around for over 15 years now and is very stable because I started using them from version three.
Stability-wise, the solution is stable; we experienced no downtimes during our two years of usage.
Despite these challenges, overall, Cloudflare remains the preferred solution compared to Azure, AWS CloudFront, and Google Cloud Armor.
Areas like how assessment, discovery, and payload are dealt with and how it all comes into your organization can be considered when trying to make suggestions to Cloudflare for improvements.
There are some performance considerations when it comes to dynamic content that involves fetching data from databases or using APIs.
Another thing that would be good to see is some more metrics on the usage of the GitGuardian pre-push hooks.
The self-healing activity by developers isn't reflected in the analytics, requiring us to collect this data ourselves.
We are looking for better metrics and audit data, wanting more features such as knowing which users are creating the most secrets or committing the most secrets, what repository, what directory, and who is not checking in secrets.
Netwrix is known as the best DLP for Apple Macintosh computers, which is noteworthy.
Not all the policies applied to the Linux clients were as effective as those for Mac and Windows.
I find it to be cheap.
I rate the product’s pricing a five out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive.
The tool is a premium product, so it is very expensive.
Overall, the secret detection sector is expensive, but we are happy with the value we get.
It's fairly priced, as it performs a lot of analysis and is a valuable tool.
The most valuable features of the solution are performance and security.
Techniques like minification and image compression reduce the size of assets, leading to better performance and faster user load times.
The solution has been able to compare it to the market, and I think the product has taken great strides in automating quite a bit of things, and they use a lot of AI.
One of the best features of the solution is the ability to use pre-push hooks.
A high number of our exposures are remediated by developers before security needs to step in, as the self-healing playbook process engages them automatically.
GitGuardian Platform performs the capability to detect secrets in real time exceptionally, as it activates from the commit and can detect it immediately.
Assuming if there's a breach, we will be able to know exactly where the breach has occurred and what has occurred, and they are quite granular in how they report their information, including their logs.
Netwrix Endpoint Protector works on Linux and macOS to block USB ports, control internet access, and manage other peripheral ports.
License utilization was a concern as when we were changing the hostname from asset category to asset tag and from personal hostnames to asset tags, it started taking multiple licenses.
