Has improved credential security with remote password change and role-based access
I have not faced any significant issues with Delinea Secret Server during this period of time, but we had a problem with a web password filler, which is a template used for accessing a web URL using Secret Server, where we faced some session management issues since session management is not applicable for the web password filler. This should be the improvement that we require from Delinea Secret Server. The session management is not applicable in this case; we can manage the session and have session management inside the remote systems within the organization. However, when it comes to web-related access, we can access directly through Delinea Secret Server. We can access any URL through Secret Server, but the problem is that the session cannot be managed on the web URL due to it having multiple systems. I do not have any other recommendations regarding the improvement of Delinea Secret Server at this time.

With a great support team and stability, the tool also offers scalability to its users
The initial setup was easy. One just needs to write the initial configuration. Then, in senhasegura's cloud applications, you can use it. I just deploy it in PoC environments or demo environments and not for production. Hence, it takes much less time than I imagine when comparing its deployment in production. I think it can be deployed in two or three days. My company has partnered with senhasegura. We just downloaded the main machine for virtual use. Then, we get the key to install it. Before, you just need to try the general configuration. Then, you will have the web applications ready. Then, you can just discover the accounts or any devices that you want to manage the accounts and manage the credentials.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The privileged access management, which is the Safe Access Model is the most valuable feature."
"The initial setup of Delinea Secret Server is straightforward and easy for development purposes."
"Provides us with the ability to control access [to secrets] by groups."
"I really like the zero trust piece."
"The biggest benefit of Delinea Secret Server would be the remote password change and discovery, which are a major help for the management of the accounts."
"It offers the possibility of secure administration of hardware devices, as well as Linux systems administration from a Windows environment."
"It is able to manage storage and use of personal passwords."
"Delinea's network integration is the most useful. For example, I use a Check Point firewall connect to SmartConsole, so I need to do a lot of configuration in Delinea Secret Server. Native integration with Check Point is valuable. You can also go download whatever API you need from the cloud, whether you're using Check Point, Palo Alto, etc. Enriched discovery is another good feature. If you are dealing with several kinds of systems, you can see which system requires privileged access to my network."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."

Cons

"As I am partial to CyberArk, I rate Thycotic Password Reset Server as a nine out of ten, owing to the minor glitches I mentioned."
"One of the product areas that could be improved is the ease of handling SSL certificates within the application."
"I don't know what kind of a cryptographic it uses to encrypt the password but it should be one of the stronger ones. Some of the cryptos have been accessed by hackers."
"I would like to see the shadowing of ongoing terminal sessions (Remote Desktop Mirroring)."
"Whenever an update is applied to Secret Server, it requires downtime. Most of the time, the solution tends to fail, necessitating the need to pull data from backup servers."
"Delinea Secret Server can improve by extending the monitoring policies and making the performance better."
"We always ask for partner enablement, which is more like a soft requirement rather than a product requirement. It would be great if they can provide us deeper knowledge of their products for integration."
"We faced some upgrade issues, especially during the management and administration parts. I found it less straightforward than on many other platforms, even outside password managers."
"In Linux credential discovery was a bit hard, but after Senhasegura's latest update, it is much easier."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Secret Server is expensive when compared to the cost to some alternatives."
"There are different plans and additional licensing costs that can be instituted for add-ons."
"It isn't terribly expensive."
"The price of this solution is good."
"Most customers opt for a yearly license."
"Pricing is comparable to competing products."
"There is an annual license fee per user and the price is fair."
"I would give the price a four on a scale from one to ten, with one being the cheapest and ten being the most expensive. We pay for the license on a yearly basis, and we paid for three years. It costs around 5000 a year."
