Simple to set up, reasonable pricing, and useful remote control capabilities
I'm on the latest version of the solution. I just updated it yesterday. While we have the solution on-premises at this time, we'll likely move to the cloud later this year. They have a trial version that you can try. They have a free version that you can try as well. I use it myself to support my family. I would try the free version or the trial version depending on your business. They can set you up and you can get to see all the features. I would also advocate going to the cloud version. Don't bother with the on-prem. It's just easier to jump to the cloud. I'd rate the solution nine out of ten.

Helped us tremendously in collaborating with each other and getting our work done and offers the breakout rooms feature.
We are a team located across various locations. Not in the same geographic location. We are distributed. And it's not possible to physically travel and meet people. Sometimes it's simply not possible. But Zoom has helped us tremendously in collaborating with each other and getting our work done. Without Zoom, it would have been very, very difficult. The breakout rooms feature is also helpful. For example, I have a meeting attended by hundreds of people and want to create subgroups. I typically use it for different role-play scenarios during training if we are trying to conduct some training on presentation skills. So there's a large group, which is initially trained by an instructor. Then you get instructions that the room will be split into smaller breakout rooms. I'll give you a topic, and you'll practice in these smaller groups. That's one way I use it. So it's like a simulation of a real brainstorming session I'd have in a physical space.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Session groups and triggers are the most valuable features, because they make a greater degree of organization possible. Greater degree of organization is valuable to my organization, because we have many sessions to handle."
"Due to the fact that we can help our clients virtually, the solution has allowed us to reduce our travel costs by about 90%."
"Offers more security than TeamViewer, Google Remote Desktop, and Zoom. It's a stable, feature-rich solution that's easy to set up and easy to scale."
"The product is really easy to deploy."
"Better than TeamViewer and useful for fixing problems remotely."
"ConnectWise Connect is very convenient as we can remote to a PC even when it is not within our LAN."
"it gives me the ability to remotely connect to machines that I manage without user intervention."
"The flexibility to manage bandwidth and organize connections, and the price, make ConnectWise a really good choice."
"The most valuable features of Zoom are quick connectivity, screen sharing, and quick response."
"The most valuable feature of Zoom is user-friendliness."
"The solution is easy to navigate."
"Zoom has facilitated our remote and hybrid meetings, particularly in the context of our agile processes such as scrum. In the past, estimating story points required physical presence in a room, where we would use visual cues or hand gestures. We can create polls with Zoom and share them with team members for direct input. The recording feature is also good. Additionally, features like whiteboarding allow for specific collaboration sessions tailored to different team members' needs. Auto-scheduling meetings and integration with Microsoft Outlook make organizing and attending meetings effortless. Overall, the product is good and convenient."
"It is a stable product."
"The video and audio quality are very good."
"The collaboration features are good."
"I felt the installation to be straightforward."

Cons

"I would like ConnectWise Control to be more transparent on the real costs to renew their license."
"There could be improvement to the remote command line tools."
"Reporting could definitely use improvement. With LogMeIn Rescue, I used to be able to, for instance, at the end of the month, pull off a report of every session. It was very simple... I could see the name that was typed in, the IP address to the computer that it was connected to, if it was running Windows... It just doesn't seem - there might be but I haven't found it - to be a way of pulling that information out of ConnectWise."
"We have had issues. We have had circumstances, for reasons we don't know, where the service will stop running, and when the service stops running that computer no longer becomes reachable. We haven't really seen that so much on desktops, but we have seen that happen quite frequently on server operating systems, Server 2008, Server 2012. You can install the product and then a week down the road it will just stop."
"They could provide a toolbox for the plan I'm on."
"On a Linux machine, there are different limitations that are not there on a Windows Server. Much more limitations exist on Linux deployments."
"There can be some complexities when running patches or when building up all the profiles, making them areas where improvements are required."
"Support for PAC files on the guest's side and support for proxy on the host's side. Currently, there is no support for guest-side PAC files or for the host-side proxy (which uses authentication)."
"Zoom could improve by increasing the time limitation in the free version."
"The solution could improve by being more secure."
"We are more inclined to work with Microsoft Teams."
"The pricing could be improved."
"They could improve security more."
"There must be an option to ask permission from the host to record the Zoom meeting."
"The security needs to be improved."
"The security of the solution could improve."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is priced well and it is still a great value. Although I have been reading a lot about Splashtop. They are getting pretty competitive on their pricing, including a fairly easy to use remote support for mobile applications, like iOS and Android."
"Good price and works well."
"ConnectWise Control is not an overly expensive tool. Its pricing is reasonable."
"We pay $3,000 USD for the service, yearly upfront."
"It is priced fairly."
"Make sure you have enough licensing for all the techs that you have."
"I download the product for free with ConnectWise RMM's license."
"We pay $85 per month for each user for a ConnectWise package with multiple solutions."
"The free version has a time limit, but paid subscriptions are available."
"We generally have a strict budget so the pricing for Zoom is reasonable."
"I rate the product's pricing two or three on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
"Zoom is available with an open license that can support meetings of up to 40 minutes."
"Zoom has a less expensive subscription than other solutions such as Cisco Webex."
"The solution's pricing is good."
"I am using the free version of the solution. However, it has a time limit of 45 minutes for meetings. We do not have meetings longer than 45 minutes, it is fine for us."
"The exact costs are handled on a corporate level, however, I understand that if you just want to own a license for your small business or something like that, it's around $300 a year, which is very reasonable."
