Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"XenDesktop has helped our users to work remotely with a better user experience.""Citrix is one of the companies that is delivering virtual apps and desktops in a big way. They are mature enough to understand the level of stability required and deliver it.""The App is the most valuable feature.""The architecture I built had a robust failover mechanism for the endpoints, and the interface was user-friendly.""I use Citrix DaaS to connect to devices.""The user experience when using the solution's technology remotely is definitely superior to our VPN and/or Windows Remote Desktop. It's a much better user experience for those folks.""The tool helps me to connect with some apps of our company and resolve the tickets.""My focus has primarily been on publishing virtual applications."

"The ability to change the way that the client works to a service so that we can get a little bit deeper into the operating system, as opposed to just an app running is the most valuable aspect. We also like the unattended sessions. Those are probably the two most important things to us. It's important because we can't do certain things when it is just an application running."

Cons
"There are many latency and slowness issues, which are things looked after by Citrix.""Citrix has to support all of the hypervisors including KVM and OpenStack KVM.""Templating the deployment process could use improvement. When you start, there are a large number of details that are quite client-specific, although they do share common themes. To get somebody up and running in a day is very difficult to do. They should streamline by use case.""The solution's technical support is not so good.""I have to re-enter my user password when I am not using the tool for some time around ten minutes. I want to also improve the need to download other Citrix apps.""The speed and connectivity of Citrix DaaS could be improved.""My only issue with Citrix is that they frequently rebrand their products. I'm using the app and everything is fine but after a couple of years, it's entirely different. There were an enormous number of Citrix tools readily available. My immediate concern was selecting the correct ones.""The initial setup has room for improvement."

More Citrix DaaS (formerly Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service) Cons →

"If they included some sort of monitoring system for managed services so we can have it all in one package, that would be helpful. There are managed services solutions that allow us to remote into the computers, but a lot of them have too much overhead. Usually, the remote connection is not as simple and as fast and cannot be run as a service."
