We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Autopilot is the most valuable feature.""I like the group policy management feature, which performs application monitoring and device enrollment.""The biggest benefits of Intune are the ability to push changes and the added security. When we moved forward with Defender, we onboarded all those machines automatically. That helps dramatically. For a while, we were left with machines that weren't protected. We could see where people had done things they shouldn't have done, and Defender saved our skins a few times. It didn't happen a lot, but it happened enough that it made us glad we made that decision.""Intune provides full visibility into all active mobile device users. If their devices are noncompliant with our security policies, I have the flexibility to update them remotely.""The security-related tools are excellent; these features allow us to secure devices, lock them down, and ensure compliance.""Among the most valuable features are the Company Portal that is built into Intune, and the update rings so that we can manage what types of future updates the devices get.""The product has eased the deployment of Microsoft apps to the devices. We can manage it properly. We can control it and push the updates. Another company helped us with the deployment. However, we can do it internally.""I like that we can implement conditional access."

"AWS provides Auto Scaling groups.""Has a variety of automation options.""When we do the automation in the cloud, we use the SSM agent. This helps us to test our automation and documents, and monitor the cloud.""The solution's ability to scale is good.""The solution is user-friendly""With AWS Systems Manager, our company can patch our systems directly from it, so we don't need to patch our systems manually.""Systems Manager has a feature where it analyzes the logs and gives us a performance overview in the form of a graph. We know when it's taking up more resources and when there are spikes, so we can predict the usability."

"It offers excellent scalability.""Spring Cloud integrates well.""The solution's initial setup is straightforward. The deployment process took me around ten minutes to fifteen minutes."

Cons
"The most important thing is reporting. They should improve their reporting. They should give a free hand to users. In SCCM, I can create my own reports. For example, in SCCM, I can create an inventory report for my PC or for all PCs, but in Intune, we don't have an option to create any report. Microsoft claims that Intune is a successor of SCCM, but SCCM is more powerful than Intune. So, they should develop Intune more and make it equivalent to SCCM. Then, their product will be great in the market.""Intune has some limitations when it comes to application updates for third-party applications. You can schedule an update, but when it's a package setup, you need to supercede and replace it each time.""The current Intune reporting functionality could benefit from some improvements.""I think there should be a better tracking of the cell phones used on the Intune.""There is still a gap between SCCM and Intune, especially in the reporting, inventory, and software deployment areas.""I would like the ability to install the agent on devices from suppliers, which would enable us to implement a zero-trust strategy for guest devices.""In the past, I raised some tickets for the enhancement feature, which was missing in Intune.""It just doesn't handle software updates well at all by itself. You need to be a scripting wizard to make those happen properly, or you use third-party tools. The Windows feature updates are very difficult to implement. I would like to see a proprietary built-in remote control tool. I know that they have Team Viewer integrated, but it is not seamless. It would be nice if they had a seamless remote desktop capability directly from the Intune console."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"Additional features can be added as per customer requirements.""The AWS UIs are not the most intuitive. Also, the usability needs room for improvement.""The current challenge is that we can't pull any incidents from other accounts.""The fact that AWS Systems Manager takes time to complete the patching process, makes it an area where improvements are required.""Lacks sufficient integrations.""We formerly used third-party products to analyze the log, give us information, and find bottlenecks. Systems Manager could provide more tools that conduct this analysis, so we don't have to do it ourselves.""AWS does not have EKS cluster backup."

More AWS Systems Manager Cons →

"Stability is one area in the solution that needs to improve.""If there's a dashboard like the ones provided by Apigee or Kong, that will be useful.""It would be beneficial for the framework to become more lightweight and efficient when transitioning to the cloud."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."
