Faced deployment successfully but configuration complexity needs to be reduced
I think the layout is a bit complicated. There are so many different layers to set up, and it is very easy to miss out or make configuration mistakes because they are hierarchical. You need to be very careful about which one has been in use. Aruba ClearPass is also complicated as well. If Aruba could combine all of their products together, it would be great to have a single pane of glass. Currently, the Aruba sensor does not work together with other products. There is no single pane of glass for location configuration, so you need to log into different websites to check the user experience.

Centralized features have simplified deployment and improved day-to-day network management
One of the best features of HPE Wireless WAN is Wi-Fi Direct, as it provides dual-band frequency and helps to connect Bluetooth with IoT devices. I am comfortable with this feature and find it beneficial for connectivity. I use centralized management features such as WLC. They have improved operational efficiency significantly. It is one of the best tools we have for centralized management because it is easy to manage, manually delete, and create sites. This makes it easy to implement policies across the network. I see measurable benefits from this centralized solution, which is quite easy to handle as people are comfortable managing the tool. Users do not need hardcore technical expertise to operate it on a day-to-day basis, making it quite comfortable.

Pros

"We are very satisfied with the solution as it delivers everything we need for our wireless network, including security, authentication, and integration with other platforms."
"I like the solution's ability to add multiple SSIDs on different levels such as enterprise and guest networks."
"The GUI is user-friendly and the dashboards are good."
"The installation process was easy."
"In the event of a controller appliance failure or downtime, the system seamlessly transitions control to any access point acting as a backup controller."
"The most valuable feature is reliability."
"The GUI offered by the product is good."
"There is a clustering feature, so the APs immediately switch back to the next available controller. The users will not notice any impact and will feel connected to the network. They will not notice any disconnection."
"The main benefit of this product is the lifetime warranty, up to 99 years. For example, if your switch card fails after 10 years, and the hardware fails, it will be replaced with the very same switch or the equivalent model available at the time."
"We've found the scalability to be good."
"It's easy to use."
"The most important is that the solution is stable."
"The most valuable features of this solution are it supports the newest virus technology, which helps with bandwidth, and is very stable."
"It is a good and stable solution."

Cons

"Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is expensive."
"This solution needs different models that are more specialized for certain customers."
"We have had stability issues with some types of portable devices."
"It is a little bit cumbersome to configure. If you're designing a WLAN and you want to do and cover certain types of clients, you really have to know different settings and how they interact with one another. If they could automate that so that if you are designing for one type of equipment, you could, in essence, run a wizard. That would certainly save on a lot of calls to tech support."
"Technical support is important to me and I feel that it is something that can be improved."
"There are so many different layers to set up, and it is very easy to miss out or make configuration mistakes because they are hierarchical."
"The solution has bugs. It really has bugs, and you have to wait until it happens, then you realize it."
"From the commercial-side the pricing side is fine but in other aspects, it could be lowered."
"There are some areas that need improvement, such as connectivity issues and additional features that other products have."
"Technical support could be improved. They could respond a bit faster."
"HPE Wireless WAN could provide better access points and better pricing."
"The license cost of the product is an area where the prices are neither expensive nor cheap, leaving a scope for the prices to be lowered further."
"The HPE Wireless dashboard could be more user-friendly."
"It's very old-fashioned, which is why we have made the decision to replace it."
"The installation is easy. However, my implementation is complicated and you would need special training to complete it."
"I would say that the integration with other vendors in areas such as management or the visibility of other vendors in the management tools could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is pretty cost-efficient than Cisco ISE when my company did a PO, but for a single-party tender, its pricing was on the higher side, so it depends. I rate the pricing for Aruba Networks Wireless WAN as six out of ten."
"It is a costly solution."
"The pricing of the product is pretty good."
"The price of Aruba Networks Wireless WAN depends on how you buy it. From a pricing perspective, if you choose to buy Aruba Networks Wireless WAN as an MRC, it's dependent upon the radio and the solution that you choose what your MRC is. If you choose to buy it outright, they're competitive with their competitors, and they're probably four percent or five percent lower than their largest competitor."
"Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
"I rate the pricing a seven or eight on a scale of one to ten, where ten is the highest and one is the cheapest."
"The product's price is within range since it has a lower price."
"It is more affordable than Cisco."
"We don't pay a licensing fee, we purchased the product."
"The solution is quite expensive. You have to pay for every node and it can get expensive fast, it is approximately £3,000 per month."
"The price is perfect for me."
"Price wise, it is on the medium end of the scale. It could be lower."
"The price of HPE Wireless WAN is high."
"The license cost of the product falls under the category of a moderately priced tool."
"Customers pay for HPE Wireless WAN based on the contract. It's usually paid yearly. There's an additional cost, particularly for the hardware."
