The stability needs work and the leader node should be removed, but we can deliver results faster.
The speed of the application It has delivered results to our customers faster than we were able to previously. The stability needs work. I've used it for two years. It wasn't stable. There are issues. No issues yet. Customer Service: It's good. Technical Support: It's good. SQL Server…

Resilience has supported proactive management and secured audit readiness across multiple sites
The resilience in Dell PowerStore benefits my company from an auditing perspective because we know we have that resilience in place. I see Dell PowerStore playing a bigger role in the future because we are starting to use it more, and that is pushing it. The biggest return on investment for me when using Dell PowerStore is scalability. Scalability is key. I can amplify that scalability is the biggest return on investment because we have redundancy between two sites; if something goes down, we have to manage it, but we want to do it proactively.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has delivered results to our customers faster than we were able to previously."
"The most valuable feature of Dell PowerStore is its immutable storage, which is what we are looking for. It offers high protection in terms of ransomware protection."
"I have found that Dell PowerStore scales with my organization."
"It has its own file formatting protocol, which saves a lot of space."
"I configured the storage for a customer, and they had all the scattered data placed on different servers; I consolidated all the data into a single dashboard accessible via Dell PowerStore Manager, which improves performance and IT infrastructure."
"The most valuable features of PowerStore are its density and data reduction."
"The most valuable features in Dell PowerStore are the Metro Volume features that are built-in without requiring an additional component."
"From the last 10 years, my company is actually using Dell PowerStore, and we have great results regarding data redundancy, data storage, data mapping, and availability of the data."
"What I appreciate most about Dell PowerStore is its performance and speed."

Cons

"The stability needs work."
"Dell PowerStore can improve the integration with VMware."
"The cost always has room for improvement."
"Improvements could be made in the replication solutions of Dell PowerStore. Even though replication between Dell PowerStores is possible, high latency connectivity is problematic."
"The only area I can highlight for improvement is that the 4:1 data reduction target has not been reached."
"The solution’s security and technical support could be improved."
"Personally, I feel that Dell PowerStore is a little bit costly in the market compared to other products, but this is just my personal perspective."
"We used to be able to see the metrics for our customers. On Compellent, we could look up that customer and see all the metrics. That is not allowed for us now. We cannot do that anymore. I have to be explicitly allowed by the customer to do that, and some companies' security does not allow that."
"During the installation phase, the licensing part was not straightforward. It was very difficult for the technicians, who are not trained Dell EMC technicians, to do the licensing because the information on their website is not straightforward."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The pricing structure and licensing model of Dell PowerStore are pretty decent. It's pretty competitive."
"With compression, we were able to have a solution within our company's budget. We include a clause in the contract with Dell that states if the compression ratio is not met, we will adjust the workload accordingly."
"In terms of licensing, my organization has Dell Technologies End User License Agreement (EULA), but I don't know exactly how it works, though it is a big bundle of licenses for Dell Data Domain, Dell EMC Unity XT, Dell PowerStore, Dell ECS, and all such kinds of storage arrays."
"There are no separate licenses required as all the basic licenses are included in the bundle."
"The pricing structure and licensing model of Dell PowerStore are very good and I like it. We chose it because it was reasonably priced and met our requirements"
"There's still a cap on the upgrade path, where you can consume all the engines within the frame before you have to go to another frame... Normally, we exceed the IOPS on the frames before we can ever exhaust the storage, so anything they can do to help us avoid stranded storage capacity, capacity that we couldn't get to, would be beneficial."
"The licensing for this solution is good and is in the mid-range tier."
"The solution's price was comparable to other products for the use case, size, and setup."
