Automated provisioning simplifies deployment and integration
The Oracle Database Appliance is customizable and has excellent features.I don't have any problems with Oracle Database Appliance because this product is very automated, with scheduler and automatic processes throughout. You can make small inferences and changes for creating all the specific modifications. The automated provisioning feature helps speed up the database deployment process because you can use one command or option to resize all the disks or increase memory, depending on the occasion. The Oracle Database Appliance has integration in OCI Cloud. The same services simplify all the manager work regarding backups, configuration, resizing disks, and other services. Deploying the Oracle Database Appliance both on-premises and in the cloud offers the same simplification. You simply input your database name and specify memory quantity, CPU quantity, and database size. The process is identical for both on-premises and cloud deployments. The flexibility of Oracle Database Appliance has helped grow business needs for many customers. Using the Oracle Database Appliance has positively impacted my organization because I can deliver it much more comfortably. Creating a database involves many processes, but with this solution, you just input the name and configure the network and other parameters. It is very similar to RDS in AWS services, where you specify the name, choose the engine, indicate parameter groups, VPC, subnet groups, and proceed. Both Oracle Database Appliance and RDS have greatly simplified the work.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has delivered results to our customers faster than we were able to previously."
"We value the appliance architecture with its “everything-in-a-box” highly standardized setup."
"The main feature is the management and manageability of the tool. We can create a VM on a laptop within a couple of clicks."
"We use the solution for our Java applications."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of dashboarding and ease of reporting."
"Once received, you can unpack it, rack it, install it in less than one day and having a fully usable machine very quickly."
"It has many valuable features, including High Availability and failover, which means you can have an all-ERP solution in one box, so you can use your database with your application server together."
"Oracle is a stable database."
"This box allowed me to consolidate the three most critical databases in one single reliable server (it is actually two nodes in our machine)."

Cons

"The stability needs work."
"It would be beneficial to have dedicated RAM included in the Oracle Database Appliance."
"Currently in Ghana, where I work, there are just a few companies that can afford it, because the price is a little bit high."
"Virtualization features could also be improved. A web-based GUI would be a good start."
"I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten. It has some problems. Databases are huge. This leads to needing more and more RAM and capacity resources, making it hard to scale. Because of this, we use Exadata. That's definitely a point for improvement."
"I would be happy to see the Oracle Auto Service Request (ASR) pre-installed in it instead of installing it in a separate machine."
"Virtualization needs improvement. It's not easy to back up the virtual machines in the Oracle VM architecture. I would also like to see native support for Veeam Backup Software."
"The feature that I would like to see improve is the interface. It is really not good. I almost have to work on script by script in it. There is always some issue with the user interface."
"Virtualization features could also be improved."

"In regards to licensing, it is cheaper to maintain for Oracle applications, and it's an all-in-one solution."
"The solution's pricing is very high."
"Oracle Database Application's support and maintenance are included in the contract."
"Get benefit from the capacity-on-demand features. License your cores according to your licenses."
"You must pay for the license."
