Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Easy to setup, good support and stable product
When we started, we used Acronis for both cloud and on-premises backups. Protege was a reliable solution, and the cloud-focused approach is well-suited for our current needs. If you require both cloud and on-premises backup capabilities, Acronis is a more comprehensive solution. For solely cloud-based backups, Protege is a solid option.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The stability of Acronis Cyber Protect is very high."
"As far as I'm concerned, it's rock solid and I'm very pleased with it and I will continue to sell it and support it."
"The most valuable feature is that you can do a bare-metal restore even with dissimilar hardware."
"The interface is easy to use. They keep on adding new features. Acronis recently added multi-platform support."
"With Acronis software it was very easy to set up, the reliability has been wonderful."
"The web-based interface makes it easy to use."
"The licensing model is very good."
"I would definitely say the backup and recovery. It used to be a separate module. It was a recovery part and it would literally duplicate the machine to bare bones."
"Since it is on the cloud, it is a very stable solution."

Cons

"It would be better if they made it easier to obtain images for laptops and desktops."
"The stability could be compromised if there's no program or scheduling of Windows updates."
"As far as the functionality goes, I haven't had a single issue with it. Rather, I've had some issues with the understandability of the interface."
"I have had an issue at times with support, because they weren't able to get to me and I've had to call back after an hour or so, but other than that, I can't be more pleased with the product."
"Installation could be easier."
"We have sometimes issues with the child copies and other similar functions, but it's normal with any backup solution. We need to fix those issues first in order for us to be able to do the backup properly."
"I wish Acronis had a feature that would allow me to set an expiry date for customers when I send them Acronis, such as when I create a customer workload or gigabyte."
"The licensing approach becomes intricate when dealing with SharePoint."
"One area for improvement would be expanding its capabilities beyond Azure-specific backups."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are monthly fees to use Acronis Backup."
"Its price is quite friendly on the pocket. You need to pay the licensing cost upfront, and then the support charges are on an annual basis."
"It has already paid off itself in the first few months that we implemented it."
"If the solution was less expensive it would be better."
"It is very cost-effective for the SMB segment, especially for start-ups and smaller environments. It is cost-effective for on-premises and on-cloud deployments in such environments."
"I like the pricing, and that it is easy to use and has performed well. "
"It is a low-cost solution."
"The current subscription model of Acronis Backup compared to other backup solutions is not costly."
