In our current project, we are using Oracle Integration Cloud Service for integration with third-party systems and Workato, so there are different third-party systems as well as different systems in the project which we are integrating.
The main benefit of Oracle Integration Cloud Service for me is that it makes integration faster; we don't have to write any custom code, and the return on investment is good, allowing us to complete tasks in two weeks that could take three months to do with custom code, thereby saving time and money.
Oracle Integration Cloud Service provides all the functions needed to cover all the use cases we encounter in the project, but one thing I would like is the ability to execute Java code from the integration, which I see may be lacking or something we can think of in the future.
Oracle Integration Cloud Service provides all the computations we need and the functions on string, integer, and date are most useful.

I have been working with Oracle Integration Cloud Service for almost six to seven years now.

When comparing Oracle Integration Cloud Service with products from other vendors such as Informatica Intelligent Cloud Service, I see that this product is very compatible with Oracle ERP Cloud, making it easier to integrate systems within the Oracle domain, although there are certain limitations such as the inability to have more than 600 or 700 running instances in one production environment.
Regarding data visibility in Oracle Integration Cloud Service, it raises questions about whether it is easy to work with and easy to use, particularly in the visualization of data in the product.
I have not used machine learning features in Oracle Integration Cloud Service at all.
I have sometimes explored the analytics tools in Oracle Integration Cloud Service, and I think they were pretty helpful and actually good.

In Workato, integrations are called recipes, whereas in Oracle Integration Cloud Service they are called integrations. While every tool has bugs and fixes, Oracle Integration Cloud Service provides customer support through SR to address and solve problems. Oracle Fusion is an ERP, mainly focused on supply chain and finance, particularly with Fusion Cloud ERP.
Most of my large customers have multiple products in their system. When we implement Oracle Fusion ERP for middleware, we frequently use Oracle Integration Cloud Service. Many customers have different platforms to integrate with, such as Dell Boomi or other middleware. It's part of the ecosystem, and regarding Microsoft products, due to single sign-on requirements, we have to connect the workflows we build in Oracle Fusion with their Microsoft Exchange server for users to receive emails. These things are part and parcel of implementation.
I am intensively working with Oracle Integration Cloud Service and OCI both. We have customers where we perform lift and shift using Oracle Cloud infrastructures.
Oracle Integration Cloud Service is one aspect, but within the Fusion ERP applications, Oracle pre-delivers AI and JMI capabilities. Currently, the count is close to 100, with 70 more use cases Oracle plans to introduce. These are available, and we configure them for customers as applicable. It's in-built product capabilities.
The solution mainly focuses on automation of reconciliation processes and day-to-day tasks where manual efforts can be reduced through automation.
It is very easy to integrate, and the pre-built APIs available to connect multiple systems help establish connections faster and more accurately. Customers need not worry about data volume flow, and Oracle charges based on usage. Multiple packages are available, such as 10 million messages per annum, allowing customers to choose packages for optimum cost.
Oracle Integration Cloud Service makes it simple to connect any third-party products, and Oracle is key for adding pre-built APIs. For all major products, the APIs are available from Oracle itself.
The implementation is simple because sufficient documentation is available, and my team has developed expertise. We know precisely what needs to be done. Based on scenarios, customers can have everything within their channel.
One area requiring improvement involves multi-tenancy scenarios, as no customers operate on a single cloud. Most large customers use multiple clouds, and Oracle's partnership with Azure and other hyperscalers needs additional development on the Integration Cloud Service side.
The solution has been in use for more than six years.
When I started with Oracle Integration Cloud Service, not many APIs were available, or if they were, they weren't heavily used. Oracle has provided some fixes, and in my last two to three large engagements, we haven't faced any major challenges with the product.

While solutions such as Dell Boomi and other platforms exist, since I work primarily with Oracle ERP applications, we prefer Oracle Integration Cloud Service.

We are migrating some interfaces from Axway to Oracle Integration Cloud Service. There are some pass-through interfaces wherein we receive data for application-to-application (A2A) file transfers within our organization. We initially used Axway, but because it is costly, we decided to migrate to a cloud-based solution, preferring Oracle Integration Cloud Service.
Oracle Integration Cloud Service is easy to use. Being an iPaaS, it offers all the features without needing to provision any hardware. It has built-in features available to establish connections with various SaaS providers like Salesforce. Additionally, it provides a wide variety of built-in adapters for many cloud providers, such as Azure Blob and AWS S3, which you can use for integration purposes.
The ease of configuration is something that could be improved. The mapping is a bit complex, so configuration is not very easy for a new user. The mapping part is complex.

It would be good if Oracle could provide some built-in AI features. For example, since mapping is complex, it would be beneficial if they could provide AI-driven assistance or coding prompts to simplify mapper tasks. My overall rating for Oracle Integration Cloud Service is eight out of ten.

In our customers' organizations, Oracle Integration Cloud Service mainly integrates their other applications with the Oracle Fusion stack. It's very handy in scenarios where they want to seamlessly maintain data flow between applications, with business tools and logic validations in place.
One of the most valuable features in our integration projects is the wide range of connectivity options. OIC has built-in adapters for almost every important product in the marketplace, allowing easy connections to various applications with minimal technical interference. It also connects well with databases, file services, and object storage. The error handling capabilities are good, with rich logging features and logging analytics, allowing proactive error monitoring and notifications.
In terms of measurable benefits, we've helped clients integrate about 50 applications from different geographies using OIC Service as an enterprise integration platform.
It isn't specifically for AI-driven projects; it does provide Integration Insights, which gives some predictive measures about the integrations that have run.
The solution should improve its support.
I've worked with Oracle Integration Cloud Service for three to four years. I'm OIC certified and have been generally satisfied with the product.
Apart from the initial learning curve, we didn't face major challenges during implementation. Once the team got familiar with the product, it was quite easy to use thanks to its drag-and-drop interface and low-code/no-code principles.
Oracle uses a universal credit model for OCI. Clients commit to an annual budget and can choose which products to use and build during their contract period. Billing is based on consumption - you're only billed for the products you use.
I would recommend the product to others, especially companies already using Oracle as their ERP and application platform. However, companies with established integration platforms might prefer to stick with those. It has improved much with recent releases and versions, much better than three to four years back.
I would rate Oracle Integration Cloud Service between eight and nine on a scale of one to ten. They've improved performance and scalability greatly over the past few years. The main area they still need to work on is technical support, not just for the tool but across their entire product line. That's the only area where I feel they're a bit behind.

Use cases are integrating between SaaS and other applications, Oracle SaaS and other applications, predominantly for payment gateways and various other vendor-related applications, and connectivity between Oracle SaaS applications and the Oracle Cloud.
There are many functionalities. Fundamentally, it provides all the ready-to-use services for consumption between SaaS and other applications.
For various vendor applications, we have the most famous vendors. It is Oracle ready-to-use. So, the real integration efforts are coming down day by day, quarter after quarter, because of that.
Implementation becomes much faster. Go-to-market is much better. They are fast to market and ready to use. All those things are there. I have not seen any major challenges or anything like that.
We use deliverables only. We are not using any other automation services that OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud) offers. That is the only thing we take up as part of the services. We have not done any separate automation services. We have not explored them yet.
Other than ready-to-use solutions and services to consume it, anything has to be developed. It has to be developed. And all the other Oracle PaaS solutions have to be procured to develop, deploy, and start using it. So sometimes what happens is such things become an expensive proposition, though it is a powerful solution.
The only thing is, if I have to build a solution, I have to start consuming the other services on the cloud, which becomes a pretty expensive solution if I have to develop it. So that’s the only thing.
In fact, we are also part of the product. We are a partner with Oracle, and we are also working with their product team on this, giving feedback and things like that. That is an ongoing process between us and Oracle.
Oracle needs to ensure that some of the most commonly used types of consumption or services are bundled—for every industry, every vertical, and even region-specific services like payment gateways, suppliers, and logistics suppliers—so that they can be consumed straight away. This would provide absolute value for money in terms of time to market, faster deliverables, and quick implementation.
I have been using it for five years. Previously, it was SOA Cloud Services. Now it is Integration Cloud Service. Together, we have been working for the last five years.
Stability is good. Once it is implemented and rolled out, stability is absolutely fine after production.
Scalability is very quick and fast. That is not an issue. It’s really elastic. There are absolutely no issues. But it is only Oracle Cloud. It is nowhere else. The only advantage is Oracle Cloud Customer is there. That option comes as part of that also.
For large customers, it can be used.
The customer service and support are actually good. In fact, they’re so much more proactive nowadays. They have invested a good amount of money in that proactivity.
Oracle started with SaaS, but now it has expanded to other areas. So, there are many competitors. But for this type of service, which they need to opt for, there is no way we cannot, even if you go for it. So, that stickiness is there with Oracle because of the SaaS transaction.
The initial setup is simple. OIC is meant only for Oracle Cloud.
The only thing is that it is possible with a Cloud customer.
It is not really a high price for the value it gives. However, when you start doing the customization, it’s a bit expensive because I need to start provisioning other services before deployment.
So from that angle, it is slightly expensive. Otherwise, it is a value for whatever the product is offering.
I would like to recommend it for all. Whoever is opting for SaaS, even small, mid, and enterprise customers, I would recommend it.
Oracle has already embedded AI, and I think that is being offered now by them. We are yet to explore it. We have just gone through the details and demos and things like that. We have not implemented it yet in any live customer place.
I would recommend the product to other users.
Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten. I strongly believe everything needs continuous development and improvement. So in that context, I would like to keep it at eight.

My clients use the solution to integrate multiple systems, like ERP, SCM, EPM, and some ADP. Different integrations are there, like talent management, compensations and, AppSense OTL, time clock device integration.
Most of the customers are using Oracle products where Fusion ERP is involved. I have seen that the Oracle integration tool is the most comfortable tool for using those Oracle products. It supports multiple systems apart from hybrid clouds. For some of our clients, most integration tasks become very easy when they have to interact with the Oracle Fusion SaaS systems using OIC.
For the most part, integrations and DBCS are more useful. To give a ratio, it is 70% ICS, 20% VBCS, a web-based mobile app, and 10% PCS.
Dealing with the large file sizes has occasionally been a challenge, though we have found workarounds. But dealing with large file sizes could be easy in integrations.
I have also come across schema files where headers, footers, and bodies are there, but it's not a valid schema. None of the MSCAs are defined properly. In such cases, we have to think of multiple workarounds, such as splitting or merging. But this is a standard requirement for organizations, so custom solutions should be provided. There are cases when the systems don't expect additional MSCAs, or they expect headers, footers, or tags with different values. But this is not a proper XML. So if we are dealing with XML conversions, mapping, and integrations, we have to do some custom work. These are solutions that Oracle can provide.
The solution is stable.
The solution is scalable, and my organization has more than 5,000 employees.
The technical support from Oracle is good, but it could be better in terms of SR. Most of the time, their SR process needs to be improved because the person raising the SR or concern does not always have a clear picture.
There should be some matrix or SLA where, if any SR is followed for seven days or more, they should set up a call or an interaction instead of following up repeatedly, especially if the final solution is a 15-minute task.

The initial setup is easy. And Oracle documents are very clear, which is why it is easy. Moreover, Oracle provides support.
Using mindfully is always needed for a good understanding of the logic or the use cases since every application has some limitations. There are different service limits and loop limits. So those things need to be configured while doing the development.
Configuration installation takes one or two days.
The development changes from use-case to use-case, but it is easier than others since we don't have to reconfigure if something is native. Reusable components can be used, and more than 100 adapters are available, so we don't need to collect custom ports.
Only one person is needed for deployment since code deployment is a 15-minute task. The only time taken would be for business testing and approvals.
It is also easy to migrate and maintain the connections and configurations; we don't have to maintain the reference every time. If you are changing the version, it is not required to maintain the versions like for on-premises applications.
There is a monitoring matrix from where we can see the whole picture of the integrations, where they failed, and why they failed.
The number of people required for maintenance depends on the different criteria, but generally, two people are enough if a client is working in a single timezone.
The price is cheaper than all other cloud integration providers. If someone is smart enough to understand the business use case, they can use most features for free. For example, with integration, VBCS comes free for the first 500 users.
It is free if an organization needs to use VBCS to create a dashboard only for monitoring purposes, and there will only be 5% of the monitoring team. You don't need to pay for custom dashboards in that case. There are some additional features available that we need to think cleverly about per business use case.
The license we use for Oracle Integration Cloud Service is monthly. Since my client is an Oracle partner, that license comes with them.

I use the solution in my company to integrate with different applications.
The most valuable feature of the solution is that the tool has out-of-the-box adapters. It has a list of adapters, like pre-built adapters, that can be used. The adapters are used for most of the renowned applications, and Oracle has built-in adapters, which can help to quickly connect with the services just like how Salesforce has adapters for some services that helps with quickly integration.
In Oracle, most of the things are based on XML and SOAP Messages. Nowadays, JSON is also very much in use. Most of the integrations are JSON-based with mobile phones, and all are coming into the picture. Most of the digital integrations are based on JSON. If I use Oracle Service Bus, I know it mostly uses XML and Java-based or JSON objects. Oracle has most of the message exchanges between XML, and it supports SOAP Messages. The support for JSON should be more in Oracle Integration Cloud Service.
The tool offers very good capabilities for transforming XML and objects. With JSON, if the tool provides support similar to XML, then it would be helpful. Nowadays, most things are on JSON, both digital and mobile.
The pricing model could be more flexible for clients.

It would be good if we could have certain functions that can run Java code. We would like to run some Java code from Oracle Integration Cloud Service in the back end. Right now, the solution supports JavaScript, but it doesn't support Java.
I rate the solution’s stability an eight out of ten.
If there are too many scheduled integrations running at the same time, OIC becomes a little slow. It would be good if something could be done to scale the solution more effectively.

Technical support responds very quickly only in the SR 1 production scenario. However, it takes too much longer to respond in other cases. The technical support team's response time is too slow if you are facing issues in a development environment or if you want to know something.
The solution’s initial setup is pretty simple and not too complex.
We use the OIC automation capabilities by creating scheduled integration, which runs once a day or once a week, depending on the use case.
We work for TCS. We recommend Oracle Integration Cloud Service to multiple customers. In most projects, customers either come to Oracle Integration Cloud Service for the first time or migrate from Oracle SOA Suite to Oracle Integration Cloud Service.
Integrating the solution with third-party vendors is fine. However, integrating it with other cloud services, like AWS, always takes a little longer. In that case, we need to do too much research work. I have heard that Dell Boomi is slowly emerging as a competitor to Oracle Integration Cloud Service.
I would recommend the solution to many customers.
