An easy-to-setup solution with good stability
We use Jitterbit to connect cloud solutions with our on-premises ERP system We connect cloud solutions to our on-premise ERP system easily using Jitterbit. It is its most valuable feature.  The solution's API management capabilities need improvement. We have been using the solution for almost…

Good flow design interface, scalable, and provides a good variety of connectors
Improvements can be made in several areas, as follows: * Configurable timeouts on each connection would be better than a single global timeout that applies to all. The rationale for why timeouts are necessary is described here: https://weblog.singhpora.com/2019/07/fault-tolerance-in-integration-flows.html In my opinion, this feature can actually save resources (CPU, memory) for Oracle and also deliver better runtime functionality to customers. * Retryable scopes and activities could be useful. * Easier ability to edit a DB operation via DBAdapter when a schema changes, such as a column added or removed from a table (Update Aug 2022: it's possible via the wizard but needs a slightly non-intuitive series of steps) * Ability to add Java libraries for very corner situations like file/ftp adapter valves, which is a feature that exists in Oracle Service Bus and can be very useful in some rare situations. * OIC arteracts should support standard source control formatting for easier comparison across versions

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The fluid user interface (probably the most user friendly interface, when compared to its competitors)."
"Integrity, ease of use, user-friendly user interface, and errorless logs are the most valuable features."
"We only use small parts of the solution, however, the parts that we use are quite adequate."
"Jitterbit handles the most lines of data in a .csv and loads the quickest of any data loader I have tried."
"It is very easy to build integrations and processes to pull and push data."
"It runs like an appliance and has tremendous throughput."
"Easy integration with Salesforce"
"The Cloud Console for monitoring and troubleshooting data operations."
"The initial setup is easy."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of customization."
"Oracle Integration Cloud Service integrates well and is user-friendly. If you are not a developer or ops engineer you can still use the solution with ease. You do not need to have developers' knowledge, you can easily adapt and learn quickly to integrate the services. They have good documentation."
"The Oracle integration tool is the most comfortable tool for using those Oracle products."
"The OIC is very good."
"Technical support responds quickly."
"OIC offers a number of pre-built technology and SaaS adapters for high productivity for a wide range of target systems, both in-house via agents and cloud/SaaS, via a very flexible range of interfaces."
"The solution is scalable."

Cons

"You need to have some development skills or hire a Jitterbit engineer to make changes."
"Looping through complex data structures can be difficult."
"There were some bugs in the product. For example if you run a delete query and test, it deletes the actual data."
"I would like the ability to offer a dedicated cloud version for security."
"In the past few months, there have been some server downtimes during work hours that have affected some critical scheduled integrations."
"Sometimes we experience disconnections and I have to close all Jitterbit programs."
"I know with Salesforce updating the UI like they did, it slowed it down a lot."
"Its API management capabilities need improvement."
"Oracle Integration Cloud Service can improve the downloading and uploading of files. I've submitted this issue to the Oracle Idea Labs. The issue is from the front end of Oracle Integration Cloud, we cannot download or upload a file directly or drag and drop it."
"While most of the adapters are available through Oracle Integration Cloud Services, they do not have a lot of features. I would like to see some enrichment in this area and for the solution to go deeper into the applications and upgrade the adapters."
"Our client was quite concerned about the cost, which is something that could be reduced."
"The error retrying mechanism could be improved. If an error occurs, it can be retried automatically, it would be helpful."
"The logging capabilities could be enhanced. Currently, logs are only retained for a few days, which can be inconvenient for administrators. Ideally, we'd like the option to configure log retention periods, like a month or fifteen days, instead of the current one-week limit."
"The solution's customer service could be better."
"The solution doesn't currently have a fully fledged workflow feature like they have in OIM."
"There are a few features that we noticed are not in the cloud. There are some improvements needed. One example is the graphical user interface that needs to improve, it could be easier to use."
