What switch is a good alternative to the Juniper CGS2520?
I'm a Pre-sales and Project Management Engineer at a small consultancy. We are looking for an alternative to the Juniper CGS2520 switch. Any recommendations?

Are you sure the switch brand is Juniper? Could it be Cisco instead?
Your question is not easy to answer because you did not indicate any specifications. It is usually not possible to match 100% someone else's model. If you are looking for a "similar" product, then you should specifically say what is and is not important for you.
- Is it the extended temperature range?
- Is it the vibration specifications?
- Is it the layer-3 features?
- Is it PVST+
- Is it the port types and numbers?
- Is it the alarm relay contacts?
- Is it the Resilient Ethernet Protocol (REP)?
You see, one may suggest an alternative that 80% matches the GCS2520 specifications but it may so happen that you actually need the other 20% that the suggested brand does not support.
Or vice versa: We may say it is impossible to find a 100% match and give up. But all you really cared about was the extended temperature range.

If you were talking to someone whose organization is considering Juniper EX Series, what would you say? How would you rate it and why? Any other tips or advice?
If you are not implementing ACI or a similarly complex deployment, it may not be necessary to use this solution for LAN access. Similarly, if you require frequent upgrades, it may be more appropriate to consider alternatives such as Juniper solutions This is an excellent solution to consider due to its stability, scalability, and user-friendly interfaces, with even more features than a Cisco solution. It is highly reliable and does not require significant troubleshooting efforts. I rate the Juniper EX Series a seven out of ten.

Juniper EX Series is part of the Junos operating system and has a candidate configuration feature, which means changes are not immediately applied. It has a consistent command structure across all platforms and can handle both layer-three routing and layer-two switching. Additionally, the Junos OS offers virtualization options and support for multi-chassis and fabric switching. Overall, the Juniper EX Series is a versatile and powerful solution.

@Menachem D Pritzker @Rony_Sklar @Enrique Lopez see the good point by @Ender Kefoglu as CGS2520 is the model for a Cisco, not Juniper switch.
