My use cases include using ProtonMail for Drive occasionally for storing files. After some time, I stopped using that feature. Primarily, I use it for sending emails when I want to maintain anonymity, such as for activist work. I stay anonymous for these types of activities.

What I appreciate most about ProtonMail is that they are trusted, which is why I choose them.

It is easy to use and there is a feature where clicking the right side button in ProtonMail copies the mail ID, which I find very useful.

In terms of what can be improved in ProtonMail, I think it is good but I feel that only tech-savvy people use ProtonMail. It is not that popular among other people. Therefore, we do not use it for normal use cases. They could implement some features that everyone would use, which might help it become viral. Then we could use it for all communications.

I have been using ProtonMail for almost four or five years, possibly more than that. I cannot recall the exact duration, but it has been more than four or five years.

I have never interacted with the support team.

The initial setup is easy.

I am uncertain about the two-factor authentication feature.

I have had integrations with other Proton services and have used Proton VPN once, though it has limited features. Simple Mail, which was acquired by ProtonMail, has been very useful for me.

The pricing is moderate. I have not used any paid services from ProtonMail. It is not very costly, but I have not used any premium services.

I would rate ProtonMail an eight out of ten due to their transparency and the utility of their simple login feature.

I use ProtonMail for exchanging invoicing with clients, managing financial information, and receiving notifications from bank accounts and investment brokers. It's dedicated to high-importance communication involving financial information.

The auto encryption of attachments is valuable. ProtonMail allows me to provide my own hashing algorithm, which is beneficial for those familiar with encryption. It’s clear about its processes. While Gmail offers similar features, ProtonMail is distinct regarding attachments, making it preferable for critical information.

The UI was previously cumbersome, however, it has improved. One improvement could be the integration between ProtonMail and Proton Pass, allowing sharing of specific secrets via email. However, this feature is not available in the free tier, making it difficult to try out both products together.

I have used ProtonMail for about a year.

I have not had any problems regarding downtime. It is essential for ProtonMail to maintain high stability, as downtimes would negatively affect its reputation.

In case there's a need for more storage, it is easy to scale up, similar to increasing storage on an EC2 instance.

I have not needed to communicate with the technical support of ProtonMail.

The initial setup was easy, earning a ten out of ten. ProtonMail's setup is almost instant, requiring just account creation.

The management and deployment are handled by ProtonMail.

The pricing is competitive, offering good value on the average plan. It’s approximately $100 for annual billing.

I did not evaluate other options before choosing ProtonMail.

ProtonMail is cost-effective for encrypted mailing, offering extensive features and customization, especially if you want to provide your own hashing and keys. There isn't another solution that simplifies these aspects as ProtonMail does. 

Overall, I give it a nine out of ten.
