Offers centralized security management and flexibility
The improvements required in the product depend on how it is used, meaning it can be used for endpoint security or email and collaboration security. The web gateway is used along with anti-malware, advanced protection, URL filtering, application control, and data protection. I don't have any improvements to suggest in the tool as of now, and not at least for now, as per my security assessment. There are certain concerns with the product's stability, so it is an area where improvements are required.

Central console streamlines patch monitoring and device management effortlessly
WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection ( /products/withsecure-elements-endpoint-protection-reviews ) is good and easy to set up. I provide an installation file for every client through my domain controller and GPO, and it works properly. We have faced no incidents with viruses or network breaches, and it's easy to monitor patches. I can use remote desktop from the central console. The solution also saves my time because, being the only one handling it, I can monitor all devices easily.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most effective features of Trend Micro Smart Protection are its antivirus and malware capabilities."
"The sandboxing is more proactive and more reliable than any of the other endpoint protection solutions."
"Integrates easily with almost every third-party product"
"The most valuable aspect of the solution is that it also protects our smartphones. It's one of the reasons we use Trend Micro specifically."
"The configuration is easy."
"The most valuable feature of Trend Micro Smart Protection is automatic scanning."
"Trend Micro Smart Protection has good features like malware analysis, C-to-C connection and detection, workbench, auto security play with features, and lots of DDI features."
"The most useful feature is endpoint security."
"We use the product for detecting network vulnerabilities and for software update purposes."
"Both incoming and outgoing traffic is protected."
"The notifications and patch management features are valuable."
"There is a layer of security to prevent a malicious agent (malware) from interrupting or stopping services, deleting or modifying registry entries or even stopping the antivirus from acting, ensuring that there will be no interruption of protection."
"The most valuable features of WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection are the clear useful portal and overall company protection."
"On the cloud management page, the solution scales up very highly."
"WithSecure Elements Endpoint Protection is good and easy to set up."
"F-Secure is useful for keeping user machines up-to-date by pushing out security and critical updates."

Cons

"It is onsite. It does have its challenges in terms of scalability."
"Some functionalities within the DLP can be improved."
"The solution should improve its mobile management solution."
"The only drawback to this solution is that it needs different products for different types of clients, and it would be better to have a single agent for all of the products."
"No online encryption or cloud services are available for the tool, so my company has to install it mostly in an on-premises environment. Encryption or cloud services need to be made available in the product."
"There is room for improvement to make it better for customers."
"The solution could be more stable and secure."
"It does not provide insights into what is being done."
"Resource consumption is suboptimal and could be improved."
"There is no technical support available in the Middle East."
"The program and cloud service management is in English. It's not a problem for me, however, it might be for users who don't speak English or use it regularly."
"I would like the part of Hash Analysis by external sources to be improved."
"But the biggest one for us is patch management because this has been our top priority when looking at alternatives. Every solution needs to have patch management, if that's possible. It would cut costs on our side if that feature were included, so we don't need to pay for two separate pieces of software."
"The solution could improve by having more real-time responses. For example, when a license gets removed from a computer it does not update the records of the change. Additionally, when I installed Microsoft Windows Defender I was not able to send licenses through email to our tenants. The integration with other solutions could improve."
"One problem is that the solution takes too much RAM from the client."
"There could be a dedicated security partner with essential knowledge."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If I'm not mistaken, for three years, for 400 licenses, we paid nearly 15,000 euros. We don't have any additional costs that we have to pay on top of that."
"There is an annual license required for this solution."
"The product pricing for PCs is reasonable, but server security can be expensive."
"The price of the solution should be less expensive."
"The cost seems competitive."
"Instead of going for monthly or yearly licensing models, it is better to go ahead with three-year or five-year licensing models as it can be cheaper."
"Whether something is affordable or pricy, is relative. It depends on the value an institution has attached to a capability. For us, security is a premium requirement, I can't say a solution is pricey if we are able to afford it and run it for seven years, I would say it's affordable."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis and I believe our organization paid about $2,000/year. However, it's been a while since I looked at the pricing and we no longer use the solution."
"The cost of the solution depends on the size of the company and where the licenses are being ordered from."
"The product has average pricing."
"If you purchase licenses in bulk the price of the licenses can decrease."
"We pay a yearly licensing fee of about €20 per computer."
"The price is comparable."
