Pros
"The most valuable feature is the Glass Tables. It gives you a nice, good overview of your KPIs. It's really slick and clean.""ITSI includes a feature called a glass table.""ITSI provides a visual representation of complex tools and context, using color coding and other features to make it easy for anyone at the monitoring or service desk to use.""The flexibility to develop and consolidate many solutions into one platform is great.""The solution has been stable.""In my opinion, Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) is better than QRadar. With the help of Splunk, we can get results.""One of the excellent features is the service analyzer, which is truly impressive.""Customers have noted the solution helps streamline incident management."

Cons
"If the product had some prebuilt machine learning features, it would add value to our use cases.""It was an intimidating tool for us to jump into at the beginning.""The license cost is expensive.""Splunk ITSI generates numerous false positives and has the potential for enhancement.""After upgrading Splunk ITSI from version 4.11 to 4.13, the analyzer stopped finding values for KPS and services.""We're using predictive analytics, and there are three or four algorithms. It would be helpful if this process were more standardized and scalable.""The cost of the license could be lower.""Microservices is the only area where Splunk ITSI can be improved. When things come from one EC2 instance to another, there's a lack of exposure to microservices, so we can't know what's happening. Apart from that, it's doing pretty well."

"The reports are not great and should be improved.""It could be more stable.""I would like to remotely connect to the computer, and Zabbix doesn't have this capability.""Correlation of events would be a wonderful addition.""There's a small module of APM, however, it is not an enhanced version. People usually ask for a full-fledged APM solution.""If you want to use all of the features then you have to pay a licensing fee.""They should open an SSH session from the web interface.""Zabbix does not draw automatic mapping of the network, this is something they should add in the future. There is a lot of effort that is involved in tailoring some of the settings which could be made easier."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
