Decades of use have delivered secure, customizable control for public sector operations and finance
I have just completed three assessments: one on inventory demand planning, another on using artificial intelligence to bring supplier contracts in portable document format directly into PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft works both internally as well as with third-party products that integrate seamlessly with PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft operates both from a need-to-know-only basis as well as being able at the same time to do group purchase and realize large quantity purchase discounts. My clients have used marketplaces, and it is really industry-specific whether they use one or not, or if there is even one available. I would rate this product nine out of ten.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The fact that it's an all-enterprise solution is the most valuable feature to me."
"I love how easy it is to customize."
"I'd like PeopleSoft to be like on the cloud and more mobile-friendly. If I try to access it from a cell phone, it's a bit difficult, so it would be great if PeopleSoft could improve these features."
"PeopleSoft automatically generates code, making it easier to integrate with third-party or internal systems."
"The customizations allow us to come up with a lot of complex labor rules. In the Philippines, there's a lot of different kinds of rules you need to be in compliance with. The solution offers up a lot of flexibility and customization that is perfect for our region's requirements."
"If the organization has complex needs that require constant changes based on business changes and has a solid IT department, there might not be a better solution than PeopleSoft."
"If the organization has a sufficient budget and wants to manage talent and support business objectives, then this is the answer."
"Job data is a valuable feature."
"The Performance Manager, Recruitment manager, and the Payroll and HR core functionalities are the most valuable aspects of this solution."

Cons

"Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is one of the most expensive systems in the HCM area, so if the organization has budget limitations, then I would not recommend this system."
"The Work Center feature in PeopleSoft is a step in the right direction in consolidating someone's role-based interaction with the system. This enhanced functionality streamlines workflows and improves efficiency."
"One aspect where PeopleSoft could see improvement is in its level of customization."
"The solution's initial setup is not straightforward."
"Data might get lost, for instance."
"I wasn't part of the team that originally implemented it, but I was involved in upgrades. I think it was extremely difficult."
"First-level support is poor, but second-level support has been fantastic."
"Services that need improvement include PeopleSoft Query, Pivot Grids, and PeopleSoft Test Framework."
"The learning development functionalities has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is priced per module."
"The tool is expensive."
"This solution offers annual licensing. We pay per user."
"The main issue we have with the solution is that it is very expensive."
"I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten, with ten being expensive."
"Check all options before a decision is made."
"We are a University and the cost and license are negotiated privately."
"The product's cost depends on the number of people in your company or the number of paychecks processed. They charge based on these factors, plus a maintenance fee. I'm not sure about current pricing since Oracle took over."
