Decades of use have delivered secure, customizable control for public sector operations and finance
I have just completed three assessments: one on inventory demand planning, another on using artificial intelligence to bring supplier contracts in portable document format directly into PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft works both internally as well as with third-party products that integrate seamlessly with PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft operates both from a need-to-know-only basis as well as being able at the same time to do group purchase and realize large quantity purchase discounts. My clients have used marketplaces, and it is really industry-specific whether they use one or not, or if there is even one available. I would rate this product nine out of ten.

Accurate reporting and customization options deliver reliable business solutions
SAP Business All-in-One is used for the mid-sized market. Their main areas are reporting, inventory valuations, and inventory limit management. The system doesn't allow negative inventory. This ERP helps organizations manage their financials, inventory, productions, fixed assets, and budgeting. We can customize it by creating add-ons and linking them with SAP Business All-in-One, making integration very easy. SAP Business All-in-One is not specific to any module. We can access and learn all modules including sales and distribution, procurement, production, and financial aspects. We can develop Crystal Reports that are SQL-based and query-based reporting. It is a good product and ERP system to run and use, with many large companies using it for their financial operations.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features most important to me are the web solution, the web interface, and the integration with other ECM products."
"Very stable in terms of performance and scalability."
"I love Oracle support."
"I have not found another product that even comes close to PeopleSoft."
"The support I have received from PeopleSoft has been excellent."
"Having a complete enterprise solution where all the reporting is in our own centralized system is great."
"The user interface that I use is very intuitive, it’s to the point of what I want to use it for."
"PeopleSoft is mostly used for payroll and core HR functionality, and some customers use it for its finance module."
"Go for SAP Products because of their business processes/features, stability, and scalability, which include backward and forward integration with any third party applications."
"SAP Business All-in-One gave them accurate reporting and also provided a solution to hide their recipes and bill of materials from unauthorized users."

Cons

"The bugs are always in the latest release, so I always tell my client to be one release behind, let somebody else find all those bugs, and their response time in fixing those bugs sometimes takes a little while."
"The problem we have is the customization. We've gone a bit overboard with customization. That’s problematic during upgrades, which is a common problem with PeopleSoft."
"The Work Center feature in PeopleSoft is a step in the right direction in consolidating someone's role-based interaction with the system. This enhanced functionality streamlines workflows and improves efficiency."
"The whole systematic flow of any query raised to HR should be improved."
"Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is one of the most expensive systems in the HCM area, so if the organization has budget limitations, then I would not recommend this system."
"Mobility isn’t the greatest."
"If they could provide reports for various organizations, especially global ones. Currently, the report fields are mostly US centric, and do not support other regions."
"Global payroll could be easier to use."
"SAP Business All-in-One needs to improve their production module as it is very limited."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product's cost depends on the number of people in your company or the number of paychecks processed. They charge based on these factors, plus a maintenance fee. I'm not sure about current pricing since Oracle took over."
"I would consider this to be an expensive product, but the quality justifies it."
"One of the cheapest solutions available and also one of the best."
"Yearly payments are to be made toward the licensing costs of PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft is not very expensive, so I feel it is an affordable product."
"The expenses related to the solution are nominal."
"PeopleSoft has a yearly maintenance fee."
"Check all options before a decision is made."
"The solution is priced per module."
