Cost-effective wwith good automation and enhanced UI flexibility
Initially, the Pega Platform was used as a BPM tool. Now, it is not limited to BPM. We can use it for CPM, GRM, and various other functions. We also utilize robotic automation, including desktop automation and process automation The Pega Platform helps in integrating a lot of manual data and…

Intuitive and easy to use with almost no coding
The ability to analyze the business logic built over the years in ABAP and then convert it was pretty amazing. This is the first time I saw a solution that offers something like that. While obviously, it can't convert 100% of the logic (we had over 30,000 lines of code in this process alone), it did pretty well. Afterward, my team had to go in and complete the rest - using drag and drop - almost with no use of code. I love how they took the MIT Scratch concept and implemented it into the in-app backend. It makes the app creation so much more intuitive and easy to use.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The initial setup is pretty straightforward."
"We find the product to be scalable."
"The flexibility of the Pega Platform in allowing use of different UI architectures, such as React and Angular, is also appreciated."
"The best part of Pega, for me, is that they let you reuse a lot of the aspects in the product."
"Allowed us to develop and quickly release with confidence using cloud technologies."
"Offers a unique environment where its entire architecture is very unified"
"The product helps you to build faster."
"The most valuable feature of Pega BPM is its architecture."
"I love how they took the MIT Scratch concept and implemented it into the in-app backend. It makes the app creation so much more intuitive and easy to use."
"I believe that this is the only product in the market that truly supports offline capabilities in an SAP environment."

Cons

"The UI needs reworking."
"The workflow automation can be slow, so there is room for improvement there."
"I've spent some hands-on time with the platform, and you can do those things, and it is all low code, but is it as easy as they make it sound? No. That's my two cents. For example, if I want to do something, there is no way to switch from low code. I just want to do a simple If-Then-Else rule, but I have to go through their low-code tool and do dragging and dropping. I'm a development person, and in my opinion, even some business users could do this easier. There is no way to go back and forth to an editor where I can just type in an If-Then-Else rule, which would be much faster than drawing in their low-code editor. They don't support that. They lead you too much."
"From a technical point of view, it would be helpful to have some advanced analytics to help with configuration. We have a lot of unwanted features and it would be good to configure it more appropriately so that we are using just exactly what we need."
"This is an expensive solution."
"They are currently spending some time on improving the product with respect to machine learning, especially related to robotic automation. They probably could be a little more adept on that area would help."
"Pega currently is trying to add chatbots to their systems, and it's still quite immature. This part definitely needs to be improved."
"Lack of stronger cloud support is somewhat inconvenient for users and implementation."
"The modernizer element should convert a higher percentage of the ABAP code, moving it from approximately 75%, closer to 100%."
"While we're not in a place of letting LOB analysts build apps, at some point, we may want to give them a bit more freedom - as long as we can limit their ability to harm the ERP data. I would like to see more tools pertaining to this area."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of PegaRULES is more expensive than other solutions on the market."
"Licensing varies across geographical regions for us."
"The price of Pega BPM is in the middle range compared to other solutions."
"The costing model for Pega BPM is different. One is a license that you can pay yearly. Another licensing model for Pega BPM is based on the number of cases you create in production in a year. Costing based on use cases is also available for Pega BPM. I don't have information on its exact pricing or costs, though."
"The solution could be less expensive according to my customers. However, I think the price of the solution is fair."
"There are multiple Pega licensing models, including outcome- and revenue-based licensing models"
"The licensing model for Pega BPM needs to be improved."
"The price is a bit expensive."
"It is straightforward consumption based on the number of end-users."
