Pros
"We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."

"The ability to troubleshoot customers' connectivity has been very beneficial.""The technical support is really good. They will go above and beyond, if you are running into a problem. You can go to a sales engineer, who will engage technical support to help you out.""It is very rock solid. We hardly have any hardware issues.""It allows us to get quicker resolutions. We can see exactly what is using up the bandwidth, so we can assist end users.""The real-time troubleshooting and application segregation that you can do within it.""We use it for monitoring whenever we update a new circuit or site.""The most valuable features are speed and cost.""The product is stable. I have never had any issue where we have lost an InfiniStream, or visibility from that particular InfiniStream, throughout the bank."

More NETSCOUT InfiniStreamNG Pros →

"The most valuable feature is visibility.""With the Vprobes, we quickly identified issues on the application servers, which we normally couldn't, where it usually would be a full circle round between our NOC and server people.""The best feature is when we have it connected permanently via TAPs. That enables us to constantly collect data and then we can go back in time... To be able to rewind, back in time, and see the problem as it happened, is very helpful.""The product is very good. We have very few problems.""The speed that you can get from the top of a problem all the way down to the packet layer of troubleshooting analysis.""We are using nGeniusONE to run our bandwidth capacity management reports. In the past, we used to be very reactive, we used to depend a lot on suppliers to tell us which sites are our hot sites, meaning, which have high bandwidth utilization. Now we do this in a much more proactive way and we are moving to a more predictive approach in that aspect, thanks to nGeniusONE.""The packet capture is the most valuable feature for us. It gathers data from the device. In case somebody has a problem, I can go back X amount of time - days, hours - and get the data to do real troubleshooting.""When we have any type of outage, and we dig into it, we are able to tell what the root cause is instead of having to go through Wireshark, etc."

Cons
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Cons →

"There is a timeout feature that we have been asking for awhile.""The monitoring and reporting tool needs improvement. Users want more information, such as the level of detail when doing a packet analysis. They want more detail to be able to isolate down to a specific point.""I'd like them to make the product more user-friendly.""The scalability has some limitations and quirks to it. I would like to be able to upgrade rather than replace the whole thing.""The stability depends on who is using the tool, because you only can get as much out of the tool as you put into it. There are a lot of patches for this particular environment, so you have to keep on them. If you lose track of them, then the product is not useful anymore.""It's not able to communicate with our probes.""Being able to manage the packet flow switches in nGeniusONE would be great.""We don't use the single pane of glass view, even though we own it."

More NETSCOUT InfiniStreamNG Cons →

"nGeniusONE could be improved by reducing the number of bare metal servers required to run it. Currently, you need a separate bare metal server for each of the following: Xfinity, ISNG, nGeniusONE, and CFS. It would be more cost-effective and less complex if all of these functionalities could be combined into a single bare metal server.""Some of the filters could be easier to see and to set up. That's the only thing that I've ever had any trouble with.""The current solution is not easy to scale, because it is an appliance-based solution. So, you have to swap everything out.""here is a big issue with the special way they use InfiniStream to store data.""The scalability needs some work. From a probe perspective, we are limited to a certain amount of throughput on the devices themselves. Without having actual hooks into the bare metal hardware for the solutions, it's a bit of a "thumb in the air" as to when we hit our capacity or when our high watermark is.""I would like more in-depth convergence between all the applications, especially when I look for information through a data mine.""Initially, we were having a lot of issues with bugs when using version 6.1.1. There were a lot of problems with the dashboard causing confusion. We worked with our SE and the NETSCOUT engineering team to fix the visibility with the data. There should be a patch release to fix this issue. However, this seems to be working fine for us right now after the 6.2.2 upgrade.""Maybe the optics cost could be improved. It's not about the product itself, but the optics cost from other companies is very high, which affects the business. When you buy a $1 million product, you shouldn't be expected to pay $500,000 for support. So, support, operation, and professional services are very expensive. It's the main weakness."

Pricing and Cost Advice
Information Not Available
  • "To capture more with the solution that we bought, you have to buy another InfiniStreamNG, and there are only four ports in the back."
  • "The scalability is good, but it comes at a cost. E.g., if you need 100 InfiniStream because you are sending gigs or terabytes of data to one InfiniStream, then you will have to purchase another InfiniStream, which are not cheap."
  • "It can be scalable. It just costs too much. With a company as big as ours, it gets too expensive to accommodate every single site."
  • "This product could be cheaper."
  • "The price is a little high."
  • "I would like it to be more scalable with less spend."

  • "If you are able and you are willing to use everything that Netscout provides to you, it's probably a relatively fair price. The problem is that it's such a large and such a complex tool that I'm not sure that many companies would be able to use it entirely, the way it's expected to be used."
  • "Like any company, we always want better pricing. The pricing is okay, but it's not a cheap solution. When you want to deploy it across an enterprise as large as ours, you go into seven figures. It's not a cheap solution to get out there."
  • "Their pricing is very competitive with other solutions... But what I like about NETSCOUT's licensing is that it's shared across all their platforms. They don't create a new licensing scheme for every one of their products. So for nGeniusONE, you buy a certain license level, and it works on all of their products."
  • "Cost is probably the biggest drawback. Compared to some of the newer vendors that have popped up in the space, it's definitely more on the expensive side... [But] it's been able to keep its value, even in the face of the cheaper competition."
  • "The biggest problem we have with this product is the expense."
  • "It can be expensive, but if you have a good configuration, based on what you are looking for, it's okay, it's manageable."
  • "It is very expensive, but it's well worth the money."
  • "It is a little overall pricey and expensive, but you get what you pay for."
