Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Responsive technical support and an easy initial setup but needs better asset management
We found the initial setup to be surprisingly straightforward. It's not overly complex and difficult, and the ease of setup is a great selling point. We started to do it on our own as it was so straightforward. There is a beginner's guide on their website which you can use. It's a very good toolbox and very useful. Basically, all you need to do is start up your virtual machine inside or outside, put in some passwords, and run one or two commands as directed and it's up and ready to go. The only thing that may take a while is the configuration process. Otherwise, the deployment is relatively fast. In about two weeks it's completely done. We have two or three people involved in the maintenance aspect of the product

Comprehensive IT service processes have been supported but customization and support need improvement
All ITSM functionalities of SymphonyAI IT Service Management, including incident, problem, change, service request, and their out-of-the-box functionalities, are pretty good. SymphonyAI IT Service Management does not have too many integrations and does not have too many out-of-the-box integrations compared to other peers in the market. I think that is the only place where they lack. However, they did have a functionality where we could build our own integration, so we were using that. If they had any out-of-the-box capabilities for some of the common infrastructure tools, that would have been easier for us. The out-of-the-box functionalities were good, including AI. However, the moment we had to customize options, that becomes very difficult with SymphonyAI IT Service Management. As long as we were using out-of-the-box, it worked great.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We are trying to do about 100 automated processes this year, and I have confidence that the solution is able to cater our needs."
"The benefits we get from automation include faster and more accurate matching, running 24x7."
"We found that RPA with additional AI capabilities, such as machine learning and Computer Vision, can enable the organization to augment existing business operations by creating efficiencies and improving the accuracy of data to be processed, without changing too much of the existing system."
"This Testing Anywhere is a good tool for the functional testing and also good for the beginners in Automation who don't have knowledge in scripting."
"There are things that used to take us a lot of time, like manual entries or HR queries, but now that the bots are in place, we are saving a lot of time."
"Automation of such tasks helped in clearing the bandwidth of the users and requestors alike and saved a lot of to and fro just asking for the latest data."
"At the most granular level, automating people's daily tasks has been helpful by freeing them up to do higher value-add activities, which is definitely beneficial."
"Automation Anywhere helped me achieve my automation goals as it reduced turnaround time, cost, human intervention, and increased overall satisfaction levels for our customers."
"Due to this product, we've been able to improve our IT services and how we work."
"The documentation for beginners is easily available online and very useful."
"The most valuable feature is remote access. People are working from home, and we can take remote access through it."
"It is a good tool to use."
"All ITSM functionalities of SymphonyAI IT Service Management, including incident, problem, change, service request, and their out-of-the-box functionalities, are pretty good."
"The product has the best features for ITSM."
"It was easy to access and fast. Our experience using it solely as a ticketing tool. We used fetch reports from the tool, particularly with regard to SLA tracking for our partners."
"SummitAI IT Management Suite's chat box feature has reduced our service discount, and because it's intelligent, the responses that go out to the users have improved, and the resolutions are much faster."

Cons

"The website can be buggy at times, and I would like to see improvements in latency and slow response times."
"Automation tools have a lot of dependency on the environment, particularly on machines. Reducing this dependency could increase success."
"The main problem that I have with Automation Anywhere is the support. When I have problems that I cannot solve by myself, it is hard to achieve a good result with support. Language is another issue."
"Excel automation or the activities for Excel is an area of improvement."
"Especially while using v11, I often experience freezes with OCR extraction from PDF files."
"It would be better if they could extend the support for AA version 11 for a few more years, as most of the companies have tasks completed in AA version 11, and A2019 is much slower compared to AA 11."
"I have experienced the issues of UI getting stuck. There seems to be an issue with server stability. This is something that can be better."
"I am currently on 11.3.4.2 and the analytics feature of AA, Bot Insights, needs improvement. It is not easy to implement. It is not intuitive for the developer as you have to mark variables for analytics."
"We have noticed that sometimes we have a delay in action on technical support issues due to time differences."
"Asset management aspects of the solution need work."
"I would like them to add software inventory in the next release. We don't have that right now."
"Integration was a major limitation with SummitAI."
"SummitAI IT Management Suite's project management and operational management features could be improved."
"There could be flexibility in terms of customization."
"Technical support takes too long for any issues to get resolved, and that created a lot of frustration."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of Automation Anywhere is a little higher than some of the competition, such as UiPath. However, depending on the use case and other factors we are able to receive some discounts."
"There are some additional costs beyond the standard licensing fees. There are a couple of add-ons we've looked at: The IQ Bot for OCR and machine-learning were add-ons, as well as the Bot Insights - the analytics."
"I don't agree with the IQ Bot licensing costs, which depends on the consumption of the document rather than per bot or user. This is confusing for me, because most of the cases for us in a possible future scenario, there would be a lot of invalid data to be scanned to get to real data. E.g., we would have to supply approximately 100 pages of scanned data to extract two pages of original data. In these type of cases, the IQ Bot might be a costly venture."
"Automation Anywhere University is pretty good. They make it available free for everyone."
"The pricing is fair. My company is part of a big organization, so the pricing is very advantageous."
"The pricing and licensing are definitely moderate to costly but easily recoverable by achieving ROI quickly."
"Including the AWS setup and everything per license, it costs us around $10,000 on an annual basis. I believe that is pretty reasonable considering the teams that we have."
"IQ Bots are very costly. It's not a sustainable bot for us as of now. We will look for better, alternate options for that."
Information not available
"The product's cost is average."
"We have a regular license."
"SummitAI IT Management Suite's pricing is a bit expensive."
