Affordable and provides visibility into what the users are doing with the data
The file integrity monitoring feature is difficult to manage because some files are confidential while others are not. We use a different tool to classify the files as confidential and non-confidential. The sensitive data discovery and classification features are not of much help. It is a difficult process. The controlling features must be improved. The interface must be improved.

Block USBs and manage ports effectively across multiple OS platforms
There is an important feature that needs to be added. In Linux, it is difficult to control uninstallation. Users can uninstall it at any time, and we can only monitor that it is uninstalled. If there is a feature that can notify in the master dashboard that an agent has been uninstalled, it would be very beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The detection and alert features are valuable."
"The product’s strict policies are its best features."
"Endpoint Protector's best features are its protection and user-friendliness."
"I rate technical support as ten out of ten."
"The interface is pretty user-friendly, neatly explained, and simple to use."
"It also provides us with the ability to lock down a wide variety of USB devices, which is pretty important because we don't want certain data accessed. It does a really good job when it comes to the versatility of the exit points it supports, making sure that important data does not leave our organization."
"I like the data protection feature. Our users were working on a client's CRM application with a lot of client-related EIA information. We did not want the users to be able to send any of this data outside. I also like its ability to protect against data leaks via emails and social media. I like that you can deploy it quickly, and it requires no training."
"The versatility regarding the exit point Endpoint Protector supports in making sure that important data doesn't leave our organization is vital for us. In the industry that we're in, data breaches are a significant concern. While our staff is contractually required to maintain confidentiality and they're all very aware that they shouldn't try and transfer company data of different classifications elsewhere to non-company devices, there's a risk."
"The most valuable aspects of the solution is the device control, which manages any portable device connected to the endpoint, and content-aware protection, which controls data in motion from the endpoint to outside, like when users try to upload data to a web browser or an instant messaging application."
"It is easy to manage the DLP between MacOS and Linux."

Cons

"The vendor must provide a cloud solution."
"The interface must be improved."
"Because it is only an Endpoint Protector at this point in time, it does not have a network DLP component. There's only an endpoint DLP component. In the future, it would be good if a network DLP component could be embedded and extended to have network DLP capabilities."
"The only aspect that prevents it from being a perfect solution is the occasional slower response time."
"The policy engine could use a bit of work. They're definitely going in the right direction. We've been working with them over the last few weeks to try and optimize that. But it's reasonably clear that they're just not putting as much effort into the policy engine as into other things, like content discovery."
"It would be helpful to implement filtering mechanisms so that we can sort and view the data based on software and vendor, providing more clarity and ease in analysis."
"In Linux, it is difficult to control uninstallation. Users can uninstall it at any time, and we can only monitor that it is uninstalled."
"Customization could be a lot better."
"They have many predefined classifiers in terms of data identifiers, and they should improve this."
"I would like to see an alert feature that when a system is started, it checks to make sure that the client has the most up-to-date policies."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is reasonable."
"I don't have any issue with the licensing and pricing. I would love for it to be cheaper, but at the same time I'm getting a lot from it."
"We have a limited budget for our media section. When we purchased it last year, we migrated from a different solution to this solution, and at that time, they told us that the cost will remain the same, but this year, they increased the price by 20% or something like that. I am not sure about the exact price, but let's say from 8,000, it increased to 10,000. It was a huge gap, and we couldn't bear this cost because we have a limited budget. When we spoke to them, they understood our problem and reduced it to the same price that we had last year."
"For what it's doing, the cost is somewhat high for us, but it's the cost of doing business with the clients that we have."
"This solution was not too cheap or too expensive. But for the amount of features that they are offering, it was reasonable."
"It has a fair price. They just changed recently from perpetual licensing. When I bought it, I bought it on perpetual license, then they changed the whole company policy to go to subscription. It was a bit of a shock to us because we haven't upgraded it that many times. However, after speaking to CoSoSys directly, they gave us a very good renewal price."
"The pricing is very competitive and is cheaper in comparison to that of other solutions. It makes it an easy decision to go with EPP for the data loss prevention infrastructure."
"The software comes with a higher price tag when compared to other DLP solutions."
"The pricing is reasonable for this particular market."
