Offers advanced filtering features and benefits from improved licensing and performance
There is a licensing issue with Intercept X Endpoint. Their licenses are user-based. Most of our customers use per device licenses, and they need per device licenses because they use one PC for multiple accounts. This creates a problem. There was one customer who complained about the slowness of PCs using Intercept X Endpoint. They use minor performance PCs, which causes their PCs to become slow.

Offers endpoint protection and data loss prevention functionality
The console is in the cloud, while some of the software runs on on-prem endpoint devices. We use Seqrite Endpoint Security as an antivirus product for its data loss prevention functionality. We configure it to define the types of files that can be attached to emails, and then we receive notifications regarding these actions. Most environments have a sizable number of endpoints. Typically, such environments already have a firewall, providing first-level protection. We have two resources to provide support. I rate the overall product an eight out of ten. It has still not been deployed in large numbers, so I'm unsure if it caters to all security environments. It can reasonably care for smaller setups of around a hundred user clients. For larger numbers of users, it might require a different kind of product.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the CryptoGuard in Sophos. In a case of a ransomware attack, this feature comes into action to protect us."
"I find the security heartbeat feature with synchronized security very useful. It's a very nice feature that allows you to basically switch off an endpoint. When an endpoint has got a virus or something like that, or it's infected or compromised, you can isolate it from the network, but only if you've got an XG Firewall as well. It also provides ease of use. It is the only antivirus that can recognize 25 out of the 36 ransomware and virus techniques that have been often used in terms of the behavior base using heuristics. It's beautiful, utterly amazing. No other antivirus can do that."
"The most valuable feature is the supervisory side of it where we can watch the throughputs, and even the loading of the device, to see how much traffic is happening."
"We most value the price and interface quality with Sophos Intercept X. We focus on solution quality."
"The malware detection is the key feature."
"After that, the client switched to Sophos to get the protection they lacked. It either works or it doesn’t and Sophos works."
"The client isolation feature is a very effective feature."
"The most valuable features are the cloud administration and the strength of the ransomware protection."
"Seqrite Endpoint Security is a good solution."
"The most valuable features are the file activity monitors, DLP solutions, and application controls."
"The product's initial setup phase is easy."
"The most valuable features of the solution are DLP, XDR, and EDR functionalities."
"The overall performance of the server and the dashboard are the most interesting aspects of the solution."
"The solution is stable."
"The solution effectively detects malicious files and blocks sign-ins."
"In case it works, we are looking to use features like USB blocking, file upload alerts, and other antivirus features as well, but this software has to work first."

Cons

"Intercept X Endpoint sometimes slows down machines due to high CPU utilization and significant RAM consumption during scanning."
"I have not done it, but integrating it with authenticating the users on the Windows system looks a bit complicated to me. It could be because I don't understand it."
"The product defends very well on its own but could possibly use enhancement in giving users more controls."
"It has a performance hit on a local laptop. There's an agent installed and we are bothered a lot by it because it seems to be using a lot of computer resources."
"I recommend that Intercept X Endpoint should include a patch assessment feature. Various vendors offer virtual patching solutions, which could be a game-changer, especially for the financial sector where frequent service restarts are challenging. These solutions allow patching servers without the need for restarts. Incorporating these features into Intercept X Endpoint would enhance its effectiveness in securing endpoints and servers."
"The tool is not stable on Linux systems."
"The majority of our systems are MacBooks and their solution release cycle is slow to endorsing or support the MacBook's latest OS or hardware platform. For example, when Sophos macOS Big Sur version 11 was released, it took them a while to support this version of OS. A similar situation occurred when the MacBook M1 hardware CPU was released. They have not fully supported the native M1 CPU to this day. They need to speed up the solutions release cycle."
"Intercept X needs more reporting and device management features, so I can get messages from PCs that let me know if I need to do something with them."
"We are using Apple devices, and the advanced device control service doesn't work for M1 chips devices, like Apple MacBooks."
"The solution could integrate with other products to provide a comprehensive protection strategy."
"We would like the solution to have integration with other security solutions so that we can have a single base for monitoring all the security incidents and concerns."
"The support offered by the tool is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"In the next version, they should improve the areas of utility and centralized control."
"I would like to see Seqrite add a remote profile so we can implement different policies for users connecting to the in-office LAN and those accessing the office network from home or a public internet connection."
"I don't feel that the scalability part of Seqrite Endpoint Security is better than the other products in the market."
"The interface is slow."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of the solution is average compared to the market."
"It's not bad, but compared to competitors, it's a little bit on the high side. The price could be more competitive."
"The product is moderately priced."
"We have an annual subscription."
"They offer both monthly and yearly licenses."
"Licensing costs are not expensive."
"You are able to purchase more licenses for the number of devices or servers that you require. There are many other features available but our license does not include them, such as XDR, which is endpoint detection and response. We have not explored the new features as of yet but plan to in the coming future."
"Price-wise, it is good. Currently, we have a three-year plan."
"There is no option to refund the money and unfortunately, we bought a three-year license, seeing that Quick Heal is a long-established player in the market."
"My company needs to purchase a yearly subscription for the licensing costs for Seqrite Endpoint Security."
"The license isn't expensive."
"It is a cheaply priced product."
"You need to pay for a yearly license for Seqrite Endpoint Security, which is expensive."
"We get the tool for around 1200 rupees for a three-year subscription. I rate its pricing a nine out of ten."
"The licensing fee is 200 Bangladeshi Taka per client per year."
"Endpoint Security is cheaper than Trend Micro."
