Pros
"Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers.""Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR.""Fortinet FortiEDR's firewalling, rule creation, monitoring, and inspection profiles are great.""I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""The price is low and quite competitive with others.""Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out.""This is stable and scalable.""The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors"

"I like the integration; it lets you see the product installed on a particular computer.""I find the main valuable feature to be the antivirus, it is very effective with removing viruses.""The most valuable feature of ESET Endpoint Security performance.""It has a clean and clear interface.""It effectively catches unwanted stuff. It has saved our bacon over many years.""The stability is good.""We use ESET, which is pretty much perfect for us. It is also absolutely simple and automatic once setup.""The solution offers impressive advanced protection."

"The solution is easy to use.""It is a scalable product and is average stability-wise.""The most valuable features of this solution are that it is really easy to use, and it is secure.""Symantec has cloud-based endpoint protection, so whether a user is off the network or on the network, the endpoint will be protected by the cloud.""One of the most valuable features is its antivirus database, which is current and updated daily. Another valuable feature is its capacity to be managed by a single server. The solution is managed by a secure server, so all the endpoints are managed from a central point.""The solution detects malware very well.""I like the additional features that come with it. The firewall feature and the encryption feature that they throw in are good as well. Another thing that I like about Symantec is that it runs on different platforms, not just on Windows.""The most valuable feature is the virus and malware detection capability."

Cons
"The dashboard isn't easy to access and manage.""The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location.""FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things.""ZTNA can improve latency.""The solution is not stable.""I haven't seen the use of AI in the solution.""They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller.""Detections could be improved."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"ESET should consider giving it application control.""The initial setup of ESET Endpoint Security can be complicated when you get involved with encryption.""They need to improve licensing for VMs. When ESET is uninstalled from a VM, the seat stays on the license management server. We have to manually delete the seat from that server because it doesn't know how to handle it. I contacted exclusive ESET support here in Croatia and they told me there is no solution for this yet.""After we did the initial setup of ESET Endpoint Security, we had to inform users about popups. This solution comes with an in-built software firewall and there can be some popups coming. We must tell the user not to keep, allow, or block anything. That is the main issue on the user side we have faced. The user's experience may not be as good.""Everything has some kind of room for improvement.""It would be nice to have more features in vulnerability scanning, which I believe will happen eventually.""If I were in an environment that required a large-scale deployment then I would choose another solution over ESET.""The user interface of ESET Endpoint Security could be more user-friendly and more features could be added."

More ESET Endpoint Protection Platform Cons →

"The solution is very difficult to uninstall. There isn't really a way to uninstall the product at all, which is quite a headache.""It can be improved in terms of features and integration. It should have more advanced features and more integration. Currently, it is just talking to their own solutions. They could add more artificial intelligence, more XDR, and more integration with other vendors so that we can do sharing of information with other vendors.""I think the CPU dependence should be enhanced.""When, Microsoft releases a new OS version twice a year, you never know if the current version of Symantec Endpoint Protection will support it. You can have a lag between when Microsoft releases a new client - and then the current version doesn't work correctly - and it could be some months between updates from Symantec.""About four years back, Symantec's signature was very heavy and their signature patch was around 200MB or 300MB files.""The stability was not the best. There were times when antivirus updates broke it. It wasn't necessarily self-updating - at least, not in terms of the virus signatures. It updated in terms of the executable files. Therefore, when Windows updates would come out, they often couldn't be installed, or the computer would hang due to the fact that the updates weren't compatible with the antivirus.""It should support the next-generation IPS. Currently, it supports only IPS.""We must have complete dissolution with advance care protection but we are finding out that we need more Symantec technical specialists. We have identified a need to hire at least one more technical specialist familiar with Symantec to improve our solutions capabilities."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
