Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It is extensive in terms of providing visibility and insights into threats. It allows for research into a threat, and you can chart your progress on how you're resolving it.""Definitely, the best feature for Cisco Secure Endpoint is the integration with Talos. On the backend, Talos checks all the signatures, all the malware, and for any attacks going on around the world... Because Secure Endpoint has a connection to it, we get protected by it right then and there.""The threat Grid with the ability to observe the sandboxing, analyze, and perform investigations of different malicious files has been great.""Device Trajectory is one of the most valuable features. We're able to dig in and really understand how things came to be and where to focus our efforts.""The entirety of our network infrastructure is Cisco and the most valuable feature is the integration.""The biggest lesson that I have learned from using this product is that there is a lot more malware slipping through my email filters than I expected.""The most valuable feature is its threat protection and data privacy, including its cyber attack and data protection, as we need to cover and protect data on user devices.""The most valuable feature is signature-based malware detection."

"The dashboard is useful for management, and its cost for the features is hard to beat.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the ease of use.""The solution provides good accessibility and is not heavy on resources when there are updates or when it is in operation.""The solution is very lightweight and does not consume that much processor in terms of CPU utilization. The centralized management system is very good.""The most valuable thing for me is that when I'm using the internet and I reach some site that isn't so secure, or isn't recommended because they don't have a good reputation, ESET will notify me.""I would say that this solution has the best support team in this kind of Endpoint protection product.""It is pretty easy to deploy. Its update definition file is small, so it can dispatch very quickly within the enterprise. The product itself is very lightweight, so it won't delay your endpoint. You also don't have to do any difficult configuration because it comes with a very good default setting. So, you just install it and forget it.""The most valuable feature in ESET Endpoint Security is the game mode to restrict notifications."

"Their threat protection is very good. We are managing a good number of users thanks to the solution and we are pretty satisfied with it.""Symantec End-user Endpoint Security is a very powerful solution.""One of the most valuable features is its antivirus database, which is current and updated daily. Another valuable feature is its capacity to be managed by a single server. The solution is managed by a secure server, so all the endpoints are managed from a central point.""The antivirus and antimalware features are good.""The solution, especially in older versions, is quite stable.""Some of the most valuable features were antivirus, malware, and spyware. They were really good.""Symantec is very user-friendly, the interface and functions are very simple for everyone to understand. Additionally, it's a very robust system.""The firewall, IPS and device control are useful at protecting the environment."

Cons
"In Orbital, there are tons of prebuilt queries, but there is not a lot of information in lay terms. There isn't enough information to help us with what we're looking for and why we are looking for it with this query. There are probably a dozen queries in there that really focus on what I need to focus on, but they are not always easy to find the first time through.""The GUI needs improvement, it's not good.""We don't have issues. We think that Cisco covers all of the security aspects on the market. They continue to innovate in the right way.""They could improve the main dashboard to more clearly show me the things that I want to see. When I open the dashboard right now, I see a million things and they are not always the things that I need.""The thing I hate the most, which they have not fixed, is when it creates duplicate entries within a console. If you have a computer and you upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, or you upgrade your agent from version 6 to 7, it creates a new instance in there instead of updating the information. Instead of paying a license for one computer, I have to license two computers until I manually go in, search for all the duplicate entries, and clean them out myself.""I would like to see integration with Cisco Analytics.""We had a lot of noise at the beginning, and we had to turn it down based on exclusions, application whitelisting, and excluding unknown benign applications. Cisco should understand the need for continuous updates on the custom Cisco exclusions and the custom applications that come out-of-the-box with the AMP for Endpoints.""It could be improved in connection with artificial intelligence and IoT."

More Cisco Secure Endpoint Cons →

"The solution lacks the automation I need.""I am a MAC user and my asset cybersecurity is continuously displaying warnings that I am not using their firewall.""ESET's updates are mostly manual. That's my biggest concern. I'd like it to be more automatic. I've had to download the new version and run it manually to install it. I've got several workstations like that right now.""In the future, a cloud version of the solution would be great.""The detection could be better in ESET Endpoint Security. Sometimes it takes time to detect threats and might be because it's not holding all the memory. There are some features that have to mature. More features might be available in the higher-end product.""They can improve ransomware protection, and there should be cloud sandboxing for Mac.""The update process can be improved, and there could be an automatic update process when a new version comes out. For system updates or program updates, there could be more automation.""There are other features you can add on to help make the security stronger, however, they should offer better security even on a basic level."

More ESET Endpoint Security Cons →

"The solution could improve by adding encryption. If it had encryption along with antivirus it would be better.""Is not a full anti-ransomware solution.""We are not satisfied with this solution. It needs a lot of improvements. It doesn't detect the most recent malware and unknown threats. With most of the users working from home these days, there is also a need for some extra security layer. That's why we are thinking of going for a better solution that will take care of all of our endpoints and work from home situation. Symantec also has to work on EDI technology. Vendors like Palo Alto and Cisco are coming with their own intelligence and cloud infrastructure in which unknown threats are regularly watched and monitored, and they are reported to the admin.""The platform itself can be improved as there's no way to track how infections get into the organization.""We had trouble with the advanced features, such as the firewall builder and all the network protection modules. We were having a lot of issues because it would sometimes block users or the printing, or it would create issues with the network access resources.""It would be helpful if this product provided patch management functionality.""It could use more feature parity between what is offered with their on-prem console as well as their hosted console.""It would be nice to see more antivirus features for USB control."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Licensing fees are on a yearly basis and I am happy with the pricing."
  • "We have a license for 3,000 users and if we get up to 3,100 users, it doesn't stop working, but on the next renewal date you're supposed to go in there and add that extra 100 licenses. It's really good that they let you grow and expand and then pay for it. Sometimes, with other products, you overuse a license and they just don't work."
  • "Cisco Secure Endpoint is not too expensive and it's not cheap. It's quite fair."
  • "The price is very fair to the customer."
  • "...the licensing needs to be improved. All the product features we need are there. It's just a matter of the complexity and the different offerings and trying to figure things out."
  • "The pricing and licensing fees are okay."
  • "Because we do see the value of what it's bringing, I think they have priced it well."
  • More Cisco Secure Endpoint Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It is subjective. I don't think it is expensive. If you can have 10 user licenses for less than $100, I don't think it is expensive."
  • "Its price is fair. If we compare it with any other retail product, it is a little harder to compete with."
  • "The price could be lower, but it's comparable, as other solutions have a similar price for the same effect."
  • "I think it's available for a pretty fair price. If you know how to use it, then it's a very fair price for what you get."
  • "I pay about $100 a year, so it's really cheap. I'm sure that if I need something else beyond more technical support, I'll need to pay more."
  • "The license is annually, and the price is low compared to competitors."
  • "The price of the solution is reasonable compared to the other products out there. It is definitely in line with the competition."
  • "The price is okay and I don't have any issues with it."
  • More ESET Endpoint Security Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Its price should be reasonable."
  • "There are subscription costs, we typically purchase the annual subscription. There can be other expenses too, for example, we use CrowdStrike also as part of our policy."
  • "The prices fluctuate, but this year I think it was maybe around $12,000."
  • "The EDR options are costlier than other products."
  • "Licensing is based on a yearly subscription."
  • "Symantec is expensive."
  • "Its price is reasonable."
  • "They're on the reasonable side. They are at mid-level. They're not too expensive as compared to their competitors. They're also not too cheap. In terms of price structure, hopefully, they could do a subscription."

    Overview

Cisco Secure Endpoint is a cloud-managed endpoint security solution that provides advanced protection against viruses, malware, and other cyber threats by detecting, preventing, and responding to threats. Cisco Secure Endpoint is managed online via a web-based management console and can be deployed on a variety of platforms. It protects endpoints, networks, emails, and web traffic.

In a world of evolving threats, it’s necessary to put security above everything. Cisco Secure Endpoint provides you with the scope, scale, and capabilities to attain effective security with its integrated portfolio and industry-leading threat intelligence. Cisco Secure Endpoint continuously tracks and analyzes files and file activities across your systems - both remote and on premises - and compares these events to other events that occurred before or during past attacks. If a file exhibits malicious behavior, the tool sends an alert which enables you to stop a potential threat from succeeding.

Key Capabilities of Cisco Secure Endpoint

    • Multi-layered protection: Cisco Secure Endpoint combines behavioral analytics, machine learning, and signature-based techniques to prevent threats from compromising your endpoints.

    • Powerful EDR capabilities: Reduce attack surface using advanced endpoint and extended detection and response, threat hunting, and endpoint isolation.

    • Dynamic malware analysis: Identify and block attacks in real time.

    • Simplified investigations: Advanced search capabilities help you get the information you need about your endpoints fast.

    Reviews from Real Users

Cisco Secure Endpoint stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to enable developers to easily secure their endpoints with one single operation using its management console and its advanced alerting techniques.

Tim C., an IT manager at Van Der Meer Consulting, writes, "The solution makes it possible to see a threat once and block it everywhere across all endpoints and the entire security platform. It has the ability to block right down to the file and application level across all devices based on policies, such as, blacklisting and whitelisting of software and applications. This is good. Its strength is the ability to identify threats very quickly, then lock them and the network down and block the threats across the organization and all devices, which is what you want. You don't want to be spending time working out how to block something. You want to block something very quickly, letting that flow through to all the devices and avoiding the same scenario on different operating systems."

Wouter H., a technical team lead network & security at Missing Piece BV, notes, "Any alert that we get is an actionable alert. Immediately, there is information that we can just click through, see the point in time, what happened, what caused it, and what automatic actions were taken. We can then choose to take any manual actions, if we want, or start our investigation. We're no longer looking at digging into information or wading through hundreds of incidents. There's a list which says where the status is assigned, e.g., under investigation or investigation finished. That is all in the console. It has taken away a lot of the administration, which we would normally be doing, and integrated it into the console for us."

ESET Endpoint Security is a comprehensive multilayered solution, combining machine learning and human expertise to deliver the ultimate in protection. The solution is deployed on endpoint devices to prevent file-based malware attacks, detect malicious activity, and provide the investigation and remediation capabilities needed to respond to dynamic security incidents and alerts.

The technology, which is based in 30+ years of research and innovation, is constantly adjusting and changing to provide the best balance of detection, low false positives and performance.

ESET endpoint protection products support all OSes including Windows, macOS, Linux and Android.

Unmatched Endpoint Safety for Your OrganizationAs an on-premises, hybrid, or cloud-based solution, the single-agent Symantec platform protects all your traditional and mobile endpoint devices, and uses artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize security decisions.
