Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Cloud-based protection has simplified daily client support and keeps threats under control
The problems that we are facing with policy adoption include slow adoption, as it takes more than five minutes to adopt policy on client computers. ESET Network Attack Protection sometimes helps in reducing network-level intrusions, but sometimes it prevents local devices on the network, which are well-known and good devices, from being recognized, treating them as a threat. So it requires more administration than usual. ESET could implement a good solution for remote support in ESET Endpoint Protection Platform for improvement in the future. Since you have the cloud console, ESET could have something similar to AnyDesk or TeamViewer, but from ESET.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cortex XDR is a very capable solution for protecting large networks and a lot of endpoints. It's very useful because the automation is very high, and if you combine it with the features on Palo Alto firewalls, it provides very strong protection."
"The tool's use cases are relevant to security."
"Stability is a primary factor, and then there's the ease of distribution and policy management."
"Cortex XDR lets us manage several clients from the same console, and its endpoint defense is more advanced than traditional antivirus."
"The anti-exploit is impenetrable. We chose Traps because it is the only product that we were not able to get anything past."
"Technical support is the best in class, in my opinion, because they have invested heavily in research and development."
"Cortex XDR alerts us on the dashboard when there's a threat, which allows us to restrict that user and helps secure our infrastructure."
"These days it's machine-learning technology and behavior-based analytics features that make us more secure."
"Technical support is very good and so far they have been very helpful and they resolved our problems in several hours."
"I would say that this solution has the best support team in this kind of Endpoint protection product."
"We use ESET to protect our company from evolving threats, monitor activity in the network, maintain a hardware and software inventory, and automate tasks such as running commands through a console."
"It's a very user-friendly product."
"We use ESET, which is pretty much perfect for us; it is also absolutely simple and automatic once setup, absolutely invisible once running, and it has effectively caught unwanted stuff and saved our bacon over many years."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the management."
"The protection and security have been great."
"The technical support has been really great; all of it, including technical support, desktop management, etc., has been excellent, and we've found it very convenient and easy to use."
"The solution is stable."
"The most valuable features are the file activity monitors, DLP solutions, and application controls."
"With Seqrite, it is completely protected, and we have full control over what is happening on the end user's laptop."
"We were excited about the cloud-based management features of Seqrite and were looking to use the same."
"The solution's current features include antivirus, web filtering, file activity monitoring, PAM, firewall, IDS/IPS, and DLP. Though I'm not familiar with the whole solution, it is good."
"The product's initial setup phase is easy."
"Seqrite Endpoint Security is a good solution."
"The convenience has been great."

Cons

"The solution should offer more dashboards and they should be better customized."
"Product might have some bugs."
"A little bit more automation would be nice."
"They have the worst support, as a company, that I have ever worked with, as they are difficult to get a hold of and keep on the phone."
"Cortex does not offer an on-premises solution. However, some customers would prefer not to be on the cloud. It would be ideal if it could offer something on-prem as well."
"Limited remote connection."
"The price could be a little lower."
"I think sometimes Cortex XDR agent automatically stops event capturing from the device, and then even the dashboard does not get any notifications from the agent."
"The adware module could be improved."
"It seems to have some issues with updates. When you do updates, it sometimes requests for a reboot, and even when you do the reboot, it still says that you need to reboot. Currently, on my computer, it says that a new ESET Endpoint Antivirus has been installed, and I need to restart the computer for the changes to take effect, but I've already done that, and the same message is still there, which is a little annoying. It should have a feature similar to the Intercept X feature in Sophos."
"They can improve ransomware protection, and there should be cloud sandboxing for Mac."
"Online security could still be improved in ESET Endpoint Antivirus because security is threatened by phishing."
"The management of the solution isn't as clear as it could be. They could adjust that to make it a better product."
"The management of the solution isn't as clear as it could be. They could adjust that to make it a better product."
"It's not a huge thing, because it doesn't happen very often, but I'll notice sometimes, when there's a startup scan, the computer does bog down a little bit."
"I think the product support is very bad."
"The cost of the solution can be improved."
"Deployment of Seqrite Endpoint Security is generally straightforward. The only complexity we encounter is that, since it is cloud-based, there can be delays in updating the endpoint's status."
"The solution needs to improve stability."
"In the next version, they should improve the areas of utility and centralized control."
"Sometimes, small and medium businesses, or even startups with just five, ten, or fifteen systems, are also keen to secure their data. There is a reluctance on the part of the technical team to extend installation support when the opportunity sizes are smaller. Seqrite Endpoint Security has a lot of value. Still, its marketing could be done much better on a larger scale, especially in India, in light of the new DPDP 2023 Act, which the Indian Parliament passed. It would be even more valuable if Seqrite could incorporate features to help companies comply with this law, it would be even more helpful."
"It should be able to detect and report any ransomware attack but currently, it doesn't detect and it doesn't report any."
"We are using Apple devices, and the advanced device control service doesn't work for M1 chips devices, like Apple MacBooks."
"I don't feel that the scalability part of Seqrite Endpoint Security is better than the other products in the market."

"Pricing of ESET Endpoint Security is within the market pricing."
"The price of ESET Endpoint Antivirus is fair compared to the performance of other solutions."
