Protects against threats and helps with ransomeware but needs optimization for lower resource usage
We are using ESET products for our clients, especially for entry-level protection tools. The demand for these tools is primarily coming from our clients, and we sometimes propose them to our clients as well We install the product in a standard way as a product. The primary purpose is to protect…

Offers endpoint protection and data loss prevention functionality
The console is in the cloud, while some of the software runs on on-prem endpoint devices. We use Seqrite Endpoint Security as an antivirus product for its data loss prevention functionality. We configure it to define the types of files that can be attached to emails, and then we receive notifications regarding these actions. Most environments have a sizable number of endpoints. Typically, such environments already have a firewall, providing first-level protection. We have two resources to provide support. I rate the overall product an eight out of ten. It has still not been deployed in large numbers, so I'm unsure if it caters to all security environments. It can reasonably care for smaller setups of around a hundred user clients. For larger numbers of users, it might require a different kind of product.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features of ESET Endpoint Antivirus are that it is lightweight, it will not take up too much CPU and memory of the server or workstation. The detection is good and easy to use."
"The product offers great reporting tools"
"The primary purpose is to protect computers from viruses and ransomware."
"The pricing is good."
"It effectively catches unwanted stuff. It has saved our bacon over many years."
"The most valuable features for me in ESET Endpoint Security are the antivirus feature and detection."
"The most valuable thing for me is that when I'm using the internet and I reach some site that isn't so secure, or isn't recommended because they don't have a good reputation, ESET will notify me."
"It hasn't crashed a single time, so it is stable in that sense."
"The overall performance of the server and the dashboard are the most interesting aspects of the solution."
"There are many features available in this solution, such as asset management."
"In case it works, we are looking to use features like USB blocking, file upload alerts, and other antivirus features as well, but this software has to work first."
"The only thing that I have found useful is that I have an overview of my systems in the networks."
"The update process and policy control are good."
"Endpoint Security's best features are inventory, asset management, and quick scanning."
"The most valuable part of the solution is its ransomware backup feature."
"The most valuable features of the solution are DLP, XDR, and EDR functionalities."

Cons

"The solution is not ideal for use in large enterprises"
"While it is cheap, ESET Endpoint Protection Platform sometimes makes the computer run slower and takes backup, which affects system performance."
"We have experienced some problems with the actualization of some endpoints. We then have to manually reinstall the version on these endpoints."
"The product should provide a one-click option to renew the licenses."
"The use of SQL Server can be improved. At times, there is a bit of challenge while linking it with the Javascript. ESET Endpoint Security requires modern technology or modern equipment on site. You will find it difficult to use ESET Endpoint Security with dual-core machines. If they can add the cloud management feature to their product, it will be much easier. If you look at this COVID situation that we are in right now, people are working from home, so you need to control the computers wherever you are. For example, if you are using any email setup and you are hosting it on your own, all the email traffic will be going through the same network. You need to protect all of your computers from the attack. It is best if you can do it remotely rather than having an IT person to come onsite to manage all computers and metrics etc, which isn't a smart way to do it."
"It's not a huge thing, because it doesn't happen very often, but I'll notice sometimes, when there's a startup scan, the computer does bog down a little bit. However, this happens rarely."
"I suspect there will be some changes required to ESET because some experts I know just moved to MDR. I can imagine there might be some issues that were not fully covered by the ESET Endpoint that would be covered by MDR that we're on now."
"The interface is good. However, it could always be better. It could be more user-friendly."
"The solution could improve by providing better security and a cloud base version."
"The product or service could be improved by incorporating SIEM integrations to enable the collection of logs."
"Deployment of Seqrite Endpoint Security is generally straightforward. The only complexity we encounter is that, since it is cloud-based, there can be delays in updating the endpoint's status."
"Sometimes, small and medium businesses, or even startups with just five, ten, or fifteen systems, are also keen to secure their data. There is a reluctance on the part of the technical team to extend installation support when the opportunity sizes are smaller. Seqrite Endpoint Security has a lot of value. Still, its marketing could be done much better on a larger scale, especially in India, in light of the new DPDP 2023 Act, which the Indian Parliament passed. It would be even more valuable if Seqrite could incorporate features to help companies comply with this law, it would be even more helpful."
"We are using Apple devices, and the advanced device control service doesn't work for M1 chips devices, like Apple MacBooks."
"The solution needs to improve stability."
"When it comes to the support provided by the product, I see that Seqrite is not as mature as the other products in the market."
"I don't feel that the scalability part of Seqrite Endpoint Security is better than the other products in the market."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's a cost-effective product"
"It is not expensive, but it is also not inexpensive."
"The pricing can be a bit more flexible."
"Currently, we are running on a three-year license. The pricing might be around $20,000. There aren't any costs above the standard licensing fee."
"This is not an expensive product."
"ESET is perfect, if you can afford it."
"The price is okay and I don't have any issues with it."
"I pay about $100 a year, so it's really cheap. I'm sure that if I need something else beyond more technical support, I'll need to pay more."
"It is a cheaply priced product."
"My company needs to purchase a yearly subscription for the licensing costs for Seqrite Endpoint Security."
"The solution's pricing is good for us, where it is neither cheap nor expensive."
"You need to pay for a yearly license for Seqrite Endpoint Security, which is expensive."
"I give the cost of the solution a seven out of ten."
"The licensing fee is 200 Bangladeshi Taka per client per year."
"We get the tool for around 1200 rupees for a three-year subscription. I rate its pricing a nine out of ten."
"There is no option to refund the money and unfortunately, we bought a three-year license, seeing that Quick Heal is a long-established player in the market."
