Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Successfully manage endpoint security and compliance while facing integration challenges
I have not come across any difficulties. I integrated it with ILMT (IBM License Metric Tool). It lets us identify all software being used in my organization with BigFix. It provides input of all types of software being used, including details and information about hardware specifications. I am more involved in software licensing and procurement, so I utilize this tool for procuring more licenses if needed for our company. After integration, we get different dashboards showcasing our IBM infrastructure, highlighting various issues in our environment that we can mitigate. I recommend BigFix to others. I rate BigFix a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"The anti-exploit is impenetrable."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks's ability to block sophisticated threats in real time is quite good and is on par with SentinelOne's."
"The initial setup isn't too bad."
"Being a cloud solution it is very flexible in serving internal and external connections and a broad range of devices."
"The product has an intuitive dashboard."
"We use it for malicious connections from malicious websites, to identify payloads that might be inside the traffic, to identify malicious processes or bugs that are running on the network, and any activities that tend to lead to data infiltration."
"Stability is one of the features we like the most."
"The initial setup is pretty easy."
"If you are using BigFix and you have the client installed on every machine, you are nearly always audit-safe from out of the box."
"It has improved my organization because we can automate a lot of tasks; we went from manually patching machines or doing our best and having very little visibility into it to us being able to set it and forget it and getting really good results on first-pass patching."
"Before we had BigFix, we had problems with some malware. BigFix allows us to immediately patch all instances of endpoints that were vulnerable to antivirus and initiate scans. That's key."
"Reliability of the agent and the ability to troubleshoot actions after they've been taken are the most valuable features."
"The use of fast query has been extremely valuable providing insight in real time of the endpoints."
"Patch management is no longer a problem."
"The interface is easy to use, and it's not complicated to create tasks; it offers all of the features that we require."
"It's easy to use, not complicated."
"I like Seqrite's web protection features and external device control."
"The solution is centrally managed, easy to configure, and easy to use."
"The product's initial setup phase is easy."
"Endpoint Security's best features are inventory, asset management, and quick scanning."
"The most valuable part of the solution is its ransomware backup feature."
"The only thing that I have found useful is that I have an overview of my systems in the networks."
"Endpoint Security's best features are inventory, asset management, and quick scanning."
"There are many features available in this solution, such as asset management."

Cons

"The tool needs to be improved in terms of integration and interface."
"The onboarding process could be better."
"It would be better if they could educate the customers more. Some sort of seminars and roadshows will help educate the customers and show what the product can do."
"It would be good if they could make an exception for applications."
"Managing the product should be easier."
"Currently, if you use Palo Alto endpoint protection as the only solution it's very complicated to remove pre-existing threats."
"The downside to the solution is that there are a large number of false positives."
"The connection to the internet has not performed as expected."
"The solution could improve by adding support drivers for different systems and equipment. When you have a lot of different computers if they could fix how to install any updates, firmware, or drivers for different systems or servers it would be good."
"The new EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) feature, Detect, is new and still needs a few updates."
"The relevant language takes a little getting used to since it's not used anywhere else in the industry."
"I self-taught for this online, so the initial setup was a little difficult to pick up at first."
"The self-service application seems to need some work to replace the client UI."
"The first setup was complex."
"Sometimes there can be a delay reporting back to the server for a variety of reasons, such as users turning their computer off when they go home."
"There is no support for patch management on SLES on IBM pSeries (only the Intel platform is supported)."
"The stability is zero, Seqrite doesn't work, and the company doesn't accept the problems."
"We would like the solution to have integration with other security solutions so that we can have a single base for monitoring all the security incidents and concerns."
"The pricing could be a bit lower."
"The solution's integration capabilities are moderate and could be improved."
"The interface is slow."
"A handbook of known issues and quick fixes should be given so that troubleshooting and frustration are less."
"We are using Apple devices, and the advanced device control service doesn't work for M1 chips devices, like Apple MacBooks."
"The solution could improve by providing better security and a cloud base version."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay about $50,000 USD per year for a bundle that includes Cortex XDR."
"The pricing seems fair, and I do like the licensing model. You use wherever they are, and it is elastic."
"I don't recall what the cost was, but it wasn't really that expensive."
"The tool's price is moderate."
"It is "expensive" and flexible."
"Cortex XDR's pricing is ok."
"I don't have any issues with the pricing. We are satisfied with the price."
"The cost depends on your chosen license type, like Pro or other licenses."
"Its price is very reasonable."
"You get what we call the Platform Edition, which you get for free. The patch service is maybe $0.50 per workstation per month. Then there's the basic server cost, which is about $1.50 per server per month. You also get into Lifecycle which does power management, OSD remote control, and those types of things, and that might be about 10 times the price - which works out to about $13 per server and, maybe $5 per workstation per month."
"The tool's price continues to go up. The cost per endpoint can vary, ranging from approximately 30 to 80 dollars per year. Compared to other products, pricing is in the middle. You need to buy an additional database license, but most users already have it."
"When purchasing, buying with other IBM tools provided us with a very good discount in pricing."
"The price of BigFix is better than the solutions. You are able to pay monthly or annually. There are not any hidden costs with BigFix. There is an additional cost for the SQL database."
"So, the pricing is slightly more expensive than the others. I have to keep buying licenses every time I add a new device."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is expensive and ten is cheap, I rate the solution's pricing one out of ten."
"I can estimate the reduced cost of servers maintenance to approximatively $500,000."
"The solution has reasonable pricing. There is one pricing without any hidden charges. They have to pay once a year or three years."
"I give the cost of the solution a seven out of ten."
"We pay approximately $1,500 for licenses for the solution."
"Endpoint Security is cheaper than Trend Micro."
"There is no option to refund the money and unfortunately, we bought a three-year license, seeing that Quick Heal is a long-established player in the market."
"The license isn't expensive."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"It is a cheaply priced product."
