Some features such as device control, firewall management, and file analysis are standalone products that we need to purchase separately. If these features came out of the box within the product, it would be much more beneficial for us. Other providers such as SentinelOne include these features in their base product. We attended a CrowdStrike Falcon event where they discussed some shallow AI features, but we cannot see these in our panel yet. We work with different solutions such as Darktrace and SocRadar, where AI features are automatically displayed in our dashboards after release. However, for CrowdStrike Falcon, we cannot see these features.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The primary way that CrowdStrike has improved the way our organization functions is visibility, and when we do have an issue, the ability to see what was happening before, during, and after the issue on the target laptop or server is far better than what we were used to."
"CrowdStrike Falcon is able to identify threats based on processes, rather than looking at signatures and this is what I like about this solution."
"It improves a lot of our security operations for threat management, and it provides a lot for our day-to-day operations too."
"The pay-as-you-go model enabled me to deploy quickly from the AWS Marketplace management account, scaled protection for workloads without upfront commitments, and reduced the initial operational overhead."
"The biggest advantage of this solution for my customers is that it is a single solution that fulfills most of their security concerns while being easy to manage."
"There are two things which customers really like about CrowdStrike: If they buy managed services from CrowdStrike, it offers them detection of security issues in one minute, and if you buy their professional services, they offer insurance where you can claim up to $5 million if there's a breach."
"Probably the most valuable thing to me is the real-time response piece. The fact that I can connect to an endpoint as long as it is on the Internet, no matter where it is globally. I can remove files from the endpoint, drop files on the endpoint, stop processes, reboot it, run custom scripts, and deploy software. Pretty much no other tool can do all that."
"It provides very good protection and the ability to crosscheck environments."
"The solution is not expensive for the data security measure you receive, it is reasonable."
"The security level that they are maintaining with the pre-authentication keys is very good."

Cons

"We would like to be able to perform on-demand scanning, rather than relying on the scheduler."
"Support, particularly related to after-sales and after deployment, could be improved a bit. If you need to connect to support, it takes at least a day to reach the support team and get a proper reply."
"CrowdStrike Falcon could improve by adding manual scanning or serverless scanning. It is not available at this time."
"CrowdStrike Suites and the way that it bundles things can be a bit challenging. It should be easier to integrate with the other stuff that they sell or be included with what they sell. We have one piece, then they are talking about another piece on vulnerability management all of the sudden, and we don't own that piece. We can see it in the console, but nothing shows up. It simply appears within the tool as an option, but we can't use it without purchasing it."
"The solution should have included remote wipe capability out of the box."
"Any kind of integration that you want to do, such as using the API to connect to a SIEM, is complex and it will be expensive to do."
"I recommend that some deep-dive trainings are required for the NG SIEM, specifically for their next-generation SIEM module, as they need some basic trainings for that."
"Threat prevention should be their first priority, and false positive reductions are needed."
"The solution could improve by providing better documentation for beginners to learn, such as videos or other tutorials."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of CrowdStrike Falcon is expensive and should be reduced."
"It is expensive compared to SentinelOne, but as the market leader, it is worth it."
"I'm not directly involved in sales, so I can't comment on the exact price, but I know the price decreases the higher the quantity we purchase."
"Purchasing the product through the AWS Marketplace is just a click away. Since we were using the on-premise version of the product, we continued on the cloud by purchasing it through the AWS Marketplace."
"We have a yearly subscription and find the price to be good. I'd give it a rating of four out of five for price, we got a good discount."
"I do not have experience with the cost or licensing of the product."
"When comparing to Microsoft, CrowdStrike Falcon is more expensive."
"There are three to four licensing models available to choose from for CrowdStrike Falcon. The price of CrowdStrike Falcon depends on the distributor and the reseller partner. The price we received was good."
"The solution is not expensive for the data security measure you receive, it is reasonable."
