Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Provides effective real-time threat detection with potential for cost optimization
Some features such as device control, firewall management, and file analysis are standalone products that we need to purchase separately. If these features came out of the box within the product, it would be much more beneficial for us. Other providers such as SentinelOne include these features in their base product. We attended a CrowdStrike Falcon event where they discussed some shallow AI features, but we cannot see these in our panel yet. We work with different solutions such as Darktrace and SocRadar, where AI features are automatically displayed in our dashboards after release. However, for CrowdStrike Falcon, we cannot see these features.

Security needs improvement and email scanning features are not included
The email scanning feature is not available in DeepArmor. We cannot use this for email scanning. There are many options that are not available in DeepArmor. We cannot use separate applications for different internet applications or for different internet scanning. This is why we cannot use it. I would like to see additional features such as email scanning, which should be included, or malware detections, and other cybersecurity features should be included. It could also be more secure.

Pros

"It has pretty much everything we need and works well within the Palo Alto ecosystem."
"Best solution for avoiding security breaches, malware attacks, and other kinds of security issues."
"I can highlight that we have not faced any security incidents with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks, and even though our environment is quite dynamic, we have not faced any security incident with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks until now."
"Cortex XDR is a very capable solution for protecting large networks and a lot of endpoints. It's very useful because the automation is very high, and if you combine it with the features on Palo Alto firewalls, it provides very strong protection."
"We have found in our test Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks to be a very good tool."
"The protection offered by this product is good, as is the endpoint reporting."
"It is an easy-to-use tool."
"Provides behavior-based detection which offers many benefits over signature-based detection."
"The detection and response have been excellent overall."
"I like the overall reports of this solution. They are crisp, and to the point."
"The solution has improved my organization by automating the detection and reporting of unwanted applications so we're aware of them and can respond appropriately."
"It is very useful for endpoint protection and stopping data breaches, and that's its real strength."
"CrowdStrike Falcon's most valuable feature is the fact that it's not getting in the way of our workforce and their workflow."
"The Insight feature is one we found the most useful."
"We compared multiple solutions in EDR and out of them, CrowdStrike gave the most features and value for money."

Cons

"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks could improve by offering remote management. It would be useful to look at the client's issue to fix it."
"We would also like to have advanced tech protection and email scanning."
"Dashboards do not allow everyone to see what's happening."
"The playbooks could be improved to include more functionalities or actions."
"When it comes to core analysis and security analysis, Cortex needs to provide more information."
"The solution should force customers to integrate with network traffic to see the full benefits of XDR."
"It's more focused on network communication. If a customer wants to increase the level of protection and start working with documents, it's impossible to integrate these features into the system. It's more of a communication-oriented system than a content security-oriented system."
"Previously, the endpoint would leave the environment, not being on our VPN, essentially unable to interact with the server to upload files."
"I would like to see the machine learning feature enhanced."
"The management reporting functionality needs to be improved."
"Setting up and installing CrowdStrike Falcon is not easy, so an area for improvement is for that process to be simplified."
"Unfortunately, native applications are not supported."
"I think there's an opportunity to enhance the AI or at least the traps to say, if something changes from this baseline, let us know and flag it."
"They should provide us with good visibility for everything."
"The KDR solution is immature. They do not have much preemption in ITDR. Threat prevention should be their first priority, and false positive reductions are needed."
"CrowdStrike should provide better visibility in its reporting. There should be more forensic details about detected threats."
"The email scanning feature is not available in DeepArmor."
"The email scanning feature is not available in DeepArmor. We cannot use this for email scanning."

"There is an annual license required to use this solution."
"The other administrator and I can log in to check the exact details of what happened, what was running, and what caused the detection. We know exactly what was happening on the end users PC and we can tell if it's something that we actually need or something that's malicious."
"There are licensing fees."
