Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Centralized metrics have improved risk visibility and now guide daily security decisions
One feature I would love to see in Cortex.io is more advanced real-time threat detection and automated alerting. I feel that this is very important, especially tailored for vulnerability severity and risk prioritization. Currently, Cortex.io provides excellent scoreboards and insights, but having real-time security alerts tied directly to risk levels, with automatic escalation and suggested remediation actions, will make the platform even more powerful in my opinion. This matters because it bridges the gap between observability and active security response, helping prioritize high-severity risks automatically, which can cut down the time spent manually correlating metrics and alerts. One area for Cortex.io's improvement could be deeper automation and actionable recommendations. For example, the automation prioritization for vulnerabilities by risk could have more remediation actions based on historical issues, and also more security tools for real-time alerts.

Current setup enables smooth problem-solving but lacks comprehensive guidance and local support
More information about setup procedures and a more user-friendly front end would be beneficial. We need more information for setup processes. It is difficult to do the work independently, requiring us to hire external companies for maintenance hours to fix small issues that could be resolved faster in-house if we had better information. We have been looking for an upgrade version, but finding local service has been difficult. It has been challenging trying to get things done. Speaking with the Microsoft office, we found there are no local companies with substantial experience with SCSM. What we have now was installed five or six years ago. It has been difficult to change configurations and look for upgrades, even with all the manuals. Our office is considering moving away from SCSM and getting a service desk solution outside of Microsoft. For me, it has been a good tool to get help and solve internal problems in the office. It is a very good tool, but the difficulty in getting local service or more information is pushing us to look for another tool.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Overall, I would rate Automation Anywhere a nine out of ten."
"We got the solution because of its ease of use with the API call, avoiding the use of developers."
"The valuable features of Automation Anywhere really are around the ease of use. Our RPA program focuses on citizen development, and all of the developers have full-time jobs as accountants, and then they work in automation on the side when time allows."
"IQ Bot is the most valuable integrated feature of Automation Anywhere."
"Security is a top priority for us. To be allowed to automate different processes, we need to have a good set of controls around who is allowed to do what, and what credentials people can and can't use. It allows us to manage access make sure that we have full control."
"Notifications and triggers are especially good."
"The ease of use is its most valuable feature."
"When it comes to financials, Automation Anywhere has done amazing work in ensuring not only the speed and accuracy of the bot, but also the compliance and error controls through which the bot executes the job at very high satisfaction and tolerance levels."
"The visibility feature has helped our teams by resulting in a 75% reduction in mean time to restore, allowing us to get alerts and incident history instead of relying on scattered spreadsheets and unreliable tools, thus saving around 15 to 20 hours per newly created service."
"Cortex.io is user-friendly, and its intuitive user interface is beneficial for non-technical team members."
"Cortex.io has positively impacted team collaboration because it provides clear visibility into service health, security posture, and operational metrics."
"The best features Cortex.io offers are the dashboard, which is very detailed, and the fact that you can run different kinds of testing such as application security testing, vulnerability management testing, and cloud security testing, allowing you to see the levels and rankings of how vulnerable those situations are, including the risk factors."
"The solution offers good productivity at a low price point."
"The call logging is the solution's most valuable feature; it's very easy to use and isn't too resource-intensive."
"With integration capabilities with the other system centers like SCCM and SCOM, for example, we are able to build a robust CMDB configuration management database, and overall, most customers just prefer the product."
"The scalability is a collaborative with SCOM, and SCSM; SCSM is a configuration manager for page and software development, you can see your systems which have been updated and it can easily deploy the new things as well, and you can also see it as a collaborative operations manager and integration manager."
"SCSM is easy to learn because all of the material, including training videos, can be found online."
"It is an amazing solution but the pricing could be improved to be a little more competitive."
"Improved time management, all the details logged (nothing missed), roles and responsibilities in tool are set according to policy/procedure."
"For our cloud-based deployment of SCSM, the Autopilot is the best feature."

Cons

"The setup process is not easy compared to the competition, and this can be a barrier to entry."
"There are occasional bugs in the system but technical support is quick to address them and deliver solutions, patches, and upgrades."
"The EXE license is such that I can create executable files from the developer machine and deploy it; however, the file that you created can only be deployed to one system, so if you wanted to deploy this test file to, say, 10 test systems you would need 10 licenses."
"The Excel part needs improvement because we use it as a database. Right now, we are using UiPath for this feature, as that RPA tool allows us to sort, search, and filter in Excel databases."
"Sometimes, I find that Excel automation is not as expected. Excel automation can be enhanced."
"The analytical dashboard in the Control Room could use some improvement."
"In a cost-sensitive industry like banking, where automation needs to prove clear ROI, a more flexible pricing structure would assist organizations in expanding automation more aggressively without feeling constrained by budget considerations."
"The quality and speed of Automation Anywhere's support need significant improvement."
"One feature I would love to see in Cortex.io is more advanced real-time threat detection and automated alerting."
"I wish Cortex.io could cater to smaller teams struggling with visibility and operational toil, as a lighter version would be really great."
"Deployment for Cortex.io is not a simple process and is somewhat complex."
"I have not seen a return on investment, so I cannot share relevant metrics."
"On a scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I rate this product as a seven, maybe even between six and seven, because there are a few things they need to improve, especially in the interface."
"It crashes our client's computers. Sometimes they get blue screens."
"I have found SCSM not adequate enough to carry out some functions."
"I would like to have the ability to integrate with other systems from the back-end. I am using Orchestrator and it is a little bit difficult because there are too many constraints."
"It's not too hard to compile stuff but it is hard to manage the solution. Even the design itself makes it difficult for management."
"This solution has been difficult to deploy in some cases."
"Our office is looking for maybe getting out of SCSM and getting a service desk solution outside of Microsoft."
"The configuration could be easier."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Complaints are generally about the cost of IQ Bot, which is higher than its competitors. The base model’s pricing is comparable to other platforms with attended, unattended, and IDP capabilities as well."
"Roughly, as of today, it is around $250,000 annually."
"The pricing model can be a bit more flexible."
"The cost for scalability is much cheaper than developing a new system."
"We're just starting to renew our license, and we were quoted $115,000 without the IQ Bot. The IQ Bot is another $30,000. This is with very limited pages, as we go through our first projects. The majority of the cost was for ten days of onsite training."
"Automation Anywhere is somewhat expensive. The prices are slightly higher, but if you need something, you must pay for it."
"We have seen ROI in terms of cost and time with a couple of our projects."
"It is fantastic. It has been great. It is perfectly priced for the quality received. When paying for quality, that is exactly what you get."
Information not available
"It comes free with the enterprise agreement that we have, but the expense really is in having to buy another product to sit on top of it to make it work properly. You wind up having to buy additional support and additional product with their own support and maintenance costs on top of that."
"I would rate the pricing as two out of five."
"Licensing can be complex and confusing."
"The price of the solution could be better. My organization has an enterprise annual license with Microsoft which provides us support."
"The price should be lower."
"The license for SCSM is cheap."
"The platform is competitively priced."
"The pricing is reasonable."
