We performed a comparison between Cloudian HyperStore and IBM Spectrum Virtualize based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about MinIO, Dell Technologies, Red Hat and others in File and Object Storage."The cost was the main reason we chose to use this solution."
"The tool has S3 capability. Its scalability is excellent. From a security and encryption perspective, the solution supports SSL encryption. It is a seamless solution offering data encryption, quality service, and security encryption."
"It is very durable and that is particularly important."
"The most valuable features are its scalability and Amazon S3 compatibility because we can move back and forth with a hybrid cloud."
"The ability to have a feature-rich software set which extends the capabilities of the back-end storage arrays."
"I like all the features, but the most impressive recently has been the introduction of IBM's Flash Core Modules. They are a form of a flash drive, but they have many more features."
"It lowers cost. It does so by getting more efficient use out of the technology behind it."
"The most valuable feature is its reliability."
"It provides transparency, because of its advanced copy features."
"We acquire companies (and things), so we end up with odd hardware. We bring it behind the SVC and it allows us to migrate stuff off of it seamlessly. SVC can also cover up a host of defects of the underlying storage."
"It is a single pane of glass management interface, so once the storage is allocated to SVC, they only have one place to go to manage it for everything."
"The most valuable features are the simplicity of use, the flexibility, and the options included. I mean, it's just a big time saver."
"Cloudian HyperStore needs to incorporate AI and predictive analysis. It would be helpful if the solution could analyze and predict how to manage data better. The end users should not have access to protected documents. They should be able to drop the documents. The capacity management dashboard can be better. We also want two-factor authentication using Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator as MFA. Hence, the user would access the console not just by logging in with a password and username but with third-party applications as well."
"As it is an S3 solution with the same protocol as the one we have with AWS, having better integration with AWS will be beneficial."
"It is a cloud-based environment and at times, it is not very simple to use."
"Tighter integration with cloud storage might be useful as a target for a variety of use cases."
"The only errors I find sometimes is the solution tells me I cannot operate it because a service has turned off, you can just go back to the VM, go to services, and turn back the services. However, this should improve."
"The solution could have a better built-in performance monitor."
"They are actually working on one bug we found, which was with flash restore. This was the user interface design for virtual environments."
"The Storwize port is not so stable."
"For improvement considerations, I would probably say multiple sites."
"The integration would be an option that we would like, but I understand that's not how it's going to be implemented."
"Anything which improves performance and the ability of our systems would be a nice."
