Cloudian HyperStore can be improved by replacing the Cassandra database since it seems to struggle. I would add that the documentation for Cloudian HyperStore is good, as they have it built into Cloudian itself, but I think the support struggles in an enterprise environment.

I cannot provide current feedback on needed improvements because for the last four years, I did not use Cloudian HyperStore, so my experience may be outdated regarding recent changes. Everything was excellent, and I had a truly good experience, which I can confirm for any other architects who are going to use Cloudian HyperStore.

At this time, I don't see any major areas where Cloudian HyperStore needs improvement. It has consistently met our expectations in terms of performance, scalability, and reliability. We haven’t encountered any challenges or frustrations with the platform. The user interface is intuitive, and the S3 compatibility works well with our existing tools. If anything, continued focus on UI enhancements and expanded third-party integrations could make an already strong product even better especially on the AI and S3 integration front.
One potential improvement would be offering an open-source or community edition of the product. This would allow teams to experiment, prototype, and integrate Cloudian into their environments without the upfront cost of a full, triple-replicated deployment. Looking ahead, incorporating AI-driven data tiering could significantly enhance value, enabling intelligent and policy-based movement of data across storage classes based on usage patterns and business needs. I know they have very robust S3 compatibility but making that information more transparent would be helpful, too.

Software vendors need to make their solutions more intelligent enabling tagging and automated data management decisions regarding the S3 place. As the backup applications already hand over SLAs settings from the backup setup to the objects, the data life cycle is automatically managed with versions, locations, and retentions. General applications conversing with S3 lack built-in intelligence, so more development is necessary on the alliance's part. Cloudian HyperStore is already very sophisticated, and no changes are needed as it is ahead of market need.

I consider Cloudian HyperStore a complete solution. However, it is important to thoroughly understand customer use cases to tailor the appropriate solution, whether using appliances for performance or software for backup targets.

Cloudian HyperStore needs to incorporate AI and predictive analysis. It would be helpful if the solution could analyze and predict how to manage data better. The end users should not have access to protected documents. They should be able to drop the documents. The capacity management dashboard can be better. We also want two-factor authentication using Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator as MFA. Hence, the user would access the console not just by logging in with a password and username but with third-party applications as well.

The stability could improve. It is not easy to maintain, which is a big drawback to the solution. We have to call the support team to be able to change things that were needed. As it is an S3 solution with the same protocol as the one we have with AWS, having better integration with AWS will be beneficial.

It is a cloud-based environment and at times, it is not very simple to use. I would like to see it more user-friendly and easy to use. I would like to see better integration with HyperFile.
Cloudian HyperStore lets you start small and grow to hundreds of petabytes on-premises simply by adding nodes. Leverage the proven interoperability of the industry’s only 100% native S3 API.

I'm really pretty satisfied with it. I suppose the cost could always be lower and they should continue to add the latest Amazon S3 features.
