Features: Cloudflare provides Zero Trustability, load balancing, and DDoS protection, as well as automatic SSL certificate protection and a user-friendly GUI. On the other hand, Wiz prioritizes context and risk prioritization with its Security Graph, which allows for custom reports and pinpointing vulnerabilities. Cloudflare has room for improvement in terms of reporting and support response time, as well as providing more servers for better traffic routing and easier log collection. On the other hand, Wiz needs preventive controls, refined reporting, customizable dashboards, and improved risk assessment.
Service and Support: Cloudflare's technical support could be improved for lower-tier plans, while Wiz's customer service is highly praised with excellent technical support and knowledgeable CSMs. Users rate Wiz's customer support very highly with scores of nine or ten out of ten.
Ease of Deployment: Cloudflare's process is generally quick and stress-free, but may take longer if a lot of equipment is needed. Wiz's deployment was done in partnership with the company and only took a few hours, and was spread across multiple public clouds.
Pricing: Cloudflare has a premium pricing model that ranges from free to $1,500 per month, which is considered expensive by some users. They offer unlimited bandwidth, but some enterprise customers would prefer a custom pricing model. On the other hand, Wiz has fair and simple pricing that is on the higher end of the market. They have specific features for easy selection, but some users are concerned about potential price increases and lack of transparency.
ROI: Cloudflare and Wiz are two tools that have been positively reviewed for their ROI. Cloudflare focuses on website protection and preventing server overload, while Wiz assists with asset management, identifying vulnerabilities, and compliance.
Comparison Results: Wiz is the preferred choice for cloud-based businesses over Cloudflare because of its ability to provide context and prioritize risks in the cloud environment, as well as its combination of cloud security posture management, threat intelligence, and risk prioritization. Cloudflare offers good load balancing and protection against DDoS attacks, but Wiz's focus on cloud security and risk prioritization makes it the better option.

After implementing it, we're able to get all of the analytics into a single platform that gives us visibility across all the systems in our cloud. "The timing aspect can lead to it being considered overpriced. This is a particular concern we have with Cloudflare, as they may struggle with accurately detecting the client."

"Cloudflare does not have an on-premise solution. If they had different approaches they could be better suited to accommodate more customers, such as on-premise and hybrid deployments. For example, hybrid deployments would be useful where you could move the traffic from the enterprise to the cloud."

"The only small pain point has been around some of the logging integrations. Some of the complexities of the script integrations aren't supported with some of the more automated infrastructure components. So, it's not as universal. For example, they have great support for cloud formation and other services, but if you're using another type of management utility or governance language for your infrastructure-as-code automation components, it becomes a little bit trickier to navigate that."
"Wiz's reporting capabilities could be refined a bit. They are making headway on that, but more executive-style dashboards would be nice. They just implemented a community aspect where you can share documents and feedback. This was something users had been requesting for a while. They are listening to customer feedback and making changes."
"Given the level of visibility into all the cloud environments Wiz provides, it would be nice if they could integrate some kind of mechanism to better manage tenants on multiple platforms. For example, let's say that some servers don't have an application they need, such as an antivirus. Wiz could include an API or something to push those applications out to the servers. It would be great if you could remedy these issues directly from the Wiz platform."

"We would like to see improvements to executive-level reporting and data reporting in general, which we understand is being rolled out to the platform."

"The reporting isn't that great. They have executive summaries, but it's only a compliance report that maps all current issues to specific controls. Whether you look at one subscription or project, regardless of the size, you will get a multipage report on how the issues in that account map to that control. Our CSO isn't going to read through that. He won't filter that out or show that to his leadership and say, "Here's what we're doing." It isn't a helpful report. They're working on it, but it's a poor executive summary."
"We wish there were a way, beyond providing visibility and automated remediation, to wait on a given remediation, due to a critical aspect, such as the cost associated with a particular upgrade... We would like to see preventive controls that can be applied through Wiz to protect against vulnerabilities that we're not going to be able to remediate immediately."
