Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Solution supports seamless integration and promotes effective device management
For technical support of Citrix, I find they are responsive, but L1 is not very capable; this product requires some mature understanding, so sometimes they can handle small problems, but for major or architecture-related issues, their L3 or our L3 engineer helps them understand the problem.I would assess the technical support of Citrix as a seven from 1 to 10.

User lifecycle management becomes streamlined with unified access and context-aware policies
If applications support SAML protocols, integration is always an easy task. However, there are difficulties with form-based applications or LDAP-based applications, particularly traditional applications. We need more flexibility not only with SAML but also with LDAP-based and form-based applications. Context-aware access currently only works with SAML-based applications. If other application integrations could support context-aware access, that would be helpful, as companies are in a transition mode with various traditional, form-based, and LDAP-based applications. Mobile device management could be improved. Through Google Cloud Identity, we can manage Android applications and have control over iOS devices, but container functionality is missing. This is particularly important for BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) scenarios, especially in India where the market is now split equally between iOS and Android users. Improvements in this area and integration capabilities would be beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Intune's most valuable feature is its centralized management capability."
"First of all, the integration with the rest of Microsoft's products is a major win."
"What I like most about the tool is that it's now very easy to set up a device for someone to use. It also helps us tremendously in managing security. Before, we used on-premise management with a domain controller. It was difficult to manage security comprehensively. For example, it was hard to know which computers were updated. We weren't able to do that easily with our previous solution."
"The most valuable feature is that we can manage workstations or Android devices remotely without needing the device to be connected to our local network."
"Comparing this to having an endpoint management solution, the efficiency gain may be up to 80%."
"Microsoft Intune is far more efficient and faster than MECM."
"The most valuable feature is the UEM capabilities."
"As an IT administrator, I appreciate Intune's ability to implement granular device-level policies for our organization's employees."
"The product is capable of acting in many different ways to help secure architecture."
"For mail containerization, Citrix Endpoint Management is very good, for document reading is very good, and if I have in-house applications, then if I want to publish them without compromising the data, then it's very good."
"The MAM applications of the product are great."
"One key feature is secure application delivery, which enables the secure delivery of mobile and web applications to end-user devices. This ensures data protection and compliance with corporate policies."
"A valuable feature of Citrix Endpoint Management is that it's stable. The stability is not a challenge among the move to the cloud."
"We have found the ability to manage user accounts on shared devices valuable as it reduces the need for multiple licenses, which saves costs."
"ShareFile, in particular, is valuable with its ease of sharing, and the best category security that is in the hands of users."
"Users can log in anytime, anywhere, using any device, which is a significant advantage."
"The best features of Google Cloud Identity are that it's free and works with modern applications, meaning if it's OAuth or using the OAuth protocol, it's very easy to integrate with those applications."
"The most valuable feature of Google Cloud Identity is its stability."
"The most valuable feature is the performance."
"Google is always on its own. Google Cloud Identity is pretty good on every point."
"It is a very stable solution. I would rate it a ten out of ten."
"The Cloud Identity is well advanced in terms of features, applications, and the components that it is offering."
"The most valuable feature of Google Cloud Identity is group access. You are able to assign policies to groups instead of users individually."
"One of the most useful features was the single sign-on. You can use it as an identity provider or service provider. And you can use their organization unit feature to enable or disable some of the features for a specific group of users."

Cons

"In future releases, I would like to see better integration with Apple products."
"The documentation about the custom image setup could be better. Although Microsoft provides the steps to configure Intune or set up or deploy Intune, it doesn't have much information related to custom images. If you ask, "how can we deploy the custom image?" There is no information. The steps they mention ask you to connect to your on-premises environment or create your own image on the cloud itself once there is connectivity. But I needed to go to multiple websites to get all this information. I had to figure out how to upload the custom image if you want to use the on-premise custom image for Cloud PC. If you have the proper subscription, you must have the right access, like global admin or owner. Then you can add your custom image to that. There are no steps mentioned over there. Microsoft Intune doesn't have Chrome browser support. I would like to have that support because they will want it if we pitch the product to clients."
"Unfortunately, Intune’s management extension does not provide the same level of logging, and I lack the visibility in Intune that I had with SCCM."
"From a new user's perspective, it may be a little overwhelming because there are quite a few things to look at in the console, however, once you are sort of acclimated and are familiar with your core functions, it's fairly simple and straightforward."
"Some customers have reported experiencing slowness when using lower versions of the Android system."
"Since the devices are configured over the Internet, whatever policy we apply from the compliance portal does not reflect immediately on the endpoint."
"Microsoft Intune is not as fast and extensive as traditional solutions such as SCCM and others."
"I would like the ability to install the agent on devices from suppliers, which would enable us to implement a zero-trust strategy for guest devices."
"Citrix needs to improve the architecture. They also need to strengthen the application integration. They keep referring to some things to be required as security, and they keep selling the next level and on-premise separately. They should give the customer the opportunity to decide whether they want to use the next level on-premise or on-cloud, but they should not charge additional fees if the customer wants to deploy the next level on-premise because the customer is already being charged as the end user. They should allow next level on-premise optimization without any additional charges."
"The tool’s battery usage was high."
"Support for inventory management of Apple devices should be added."
"For technical support of Citrix, I find they are responsive, but L1 is not very capable; this product requires some mature understanding, so sometimes they can handle small problems, but for major or architecture-related issues, their L3 or our L3 engineer helps them understand the problem."
"Citrix often depends on other services like backend data centers, network security, and application firewalls. Issues in these areas can be misinterpreted as Citrix issues by users."
"Requires integrating with ABM before enabling some of the features."
"I would rate Citrix Endpoint Management as two out of ten overall, due to the policy changes and the lack of significant features or stability improvements."
"The iOS version updates do not work as well as I would like."
"The one place it could be improved is the password vaulting. The password vaulting does not prevent the admins from reading users' passwords, and that's a debate."
"Google Cloud Identity can be improved by having better integration with Active Directory, but since Active Directory is also a Microsoft solution, we don't think it will happen; that's the only disadvantage of Google."
"Technical support is slow."
"If you want to set up some alerts, you don't have much control over the configuration. You have to use their default alerts. And they only provide alerts for certain activities, so you cannot customize those. Monitoring isn't very helpful either."
"We cannot manage the attributes of SSPR."
"The integration should be made easier."
"The solution's storage capacity could be increased."
"Overall, I would give a zero out of 10 for Google's support. There is no easy way to navigate issues without paid consultation, making it quite frustrating."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of Intune is often included as part of a bundle with other Microsoft licenses, which makes it somewhat cheaper."
"I recently got to know that the AD P1 license is compulsory to use Intune Autopilot, which was surprising for me. Earlier, this was not the case. It is the wrong thing to do. We now need to purchase AD P1 licenses for us and for our customers. I would rate it a seven out of ten for pricing."
"It is cheap, but as compared to Google, it is costly. Google is cheaper, but quality-wise, Microsoft Intune is better."
"I would rate the price a four out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"The cost of the license and the features are justified for myself as a technical person."
"Intune's pricing is competitive. For example, the license of Blackberry's Enterprise Mobility Suite was costly, but Intune is affordable. It is included as an additional feature when you buy security enhancements for your organization. For example, let's say I have fifty users in my organization and all of them are using Microsoft cloud services, like Teams, Office 365, and OneDrive."
"Microsoft Intune has been incorporated into our Microsoft E5 licenses."
"Microsoft Intune's pricing is reasonable."
"The licensing costs vary depending on the customer and the licensing model. We have three main types: per-user, subscription, and concurrent user licenses, plus a user-based model."
"The fees are paid monthly and there are no additional costs other than the licensing fees."
"I rate the product price a seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price, and ten is a high price."
"The product is billed on a monthly basis depending on the number of users."
"When I worked on Cloud Identity, they offered a free or enterprise version. You can synchronize and create up to 100 user identities in the free version. After that, you have to purchase a business or enterprise license. In that model, you'll be charged based on the number of users."
"The pricing is a bit expensive."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a three out of ten."
"We probably spend about $50,000 a year on licensing."
"The licensing cost depends on the partners and the relationship between the company and the partners."
