We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The flexibility is the most valuable feature. We use it for the app on the phone. When we're at different locations, the phone is usually there, so we can use that. It has just been a very flexible option.""The two-factor authentication is valuable because that is the use case for which we are using it.""The integration with Azure Active Directory and the AWS cloud is amazing, as most products nowadays require the creation of a customized integration. With Duo Security, it was more like native integration, and it took me five minutes to register.""By deploying Duo, we have virtually eliminated the risk of direct deposit redirection as a result of credentials that have been compromised via phishing.""Another feature is the single pane of glass management. That's important for analytics and also for troubleshooting. It means there's one place that you go to at least start the troubleshooting process.""At the moment, the ease of use is what is the best feature for me. Once it has been set up and the security can hoc to my mobile device, it's very simple to use my single sign-on, get prompted for a Duo Security, push, go to my phone, accept the push, and I'm done. It's a very simple process.""Regarding the valuable features, I would say that Duo Security is easy to use, has speed, and is dependable.""The solution is easy to use."

"The solution has a smooth and configurable user interface for single sign-on capabilities.""The soundness of the solution is its most valuable feature. For example, if you are in our corporate network, you can log on without any traffic interfering.""It is a scalable solution...It is a stable solution.""What I like best about PingID is that it's very user-friendly. PingID is well-built as a developer tool and regularly upgrades and updates via patches. I also like that PingID has clear documents that will help you integrate it with other solutions.""We use the product to run different reports.""The only feature we were looking for in PingID was SSO integration with our existing web app.""This is a user-friendly solution.""The mobile biometric authentication option improved user experience. It's always about security because, with two-factor authentication, it's always a separate device verifying the actual user logging in."

Cons
"Duo was clearly purchased, and Cisco has a lot of other panels for their Firepower products, et cetera. They need to continue bringing it, Umbrella, and the endpoint pieces even more together and make the integration a little more seamless among all of them.""I would like to see some features simplified, such as securing, configuring, and implementing Microsoft Remote Desktop. Other than that, the solution was rock solid throughout my time administering it.""Most of my colleagues from other companies use the Microsoft MFA solution because it's included in Office 365. Few people are considering Cisco Duo. That's the primary problem in our area. It's a solution mostly adopted by Cisco users.""The new smart license model doesn't always work. It's very complicated.""I would appreciate it if Duo Security could improve its integrations with Windows Hello.""The pain point for us at one point was the Duo Authentication Proxy since we're on-premises and not in the cloud. We had to have a proxy machine that's in our DMZ to talk to Duo for us. The configuration of that was a little complicated.""They could just continue to add more integrations.""Certain customers can not use this product because it is cloud-based."

More Cisco Duo Cons →

"PingID would benefit from a better user interface for integration.""I think that the connection with like Microsoft Word, especially for Office 365, is a weak point that could be improved.""The solution should allow for better integration with other platforms and the UBT.""We have encountered instances where it is not easy to do authentication.""If the solution is going to compete with Microsoft, they need to offer more unique functionality to keep their current user base.""They could use some bio-certification. It's just more user-friendly and more convenient than entering the one time passes. That would be an improvement.""The management console needs to be improved. PingID should revise it.""The product is not customizable."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "During testing we are allowed a certain number of licenses for free."
  • "Its price is reasonable. It is not highly expensive."
  • "Their pricing model is a little bit weird. Currently, there is no price advantage in signing up for yearly contracts. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing costs."
  • "Our licensing fee is currently on an annual basis."
  • "The licensing is very good because it does not cost a lot of money. It's affordable for all-sized customers, including enterprises. There is an additional cost for premium support."
  • "Duo Security is free."
  • "With regard to pricing, for a small business buying a one off, it's pretty expensive. If it's an enterprise that has thousands of employees, however, it's really nothing to protect your data because if your network goes down or it's breached, you're losing millions of dollars every minute. When it comes to a large enterprise, it's priced where it should be because you're talking business to business. You're not talking business to consumer."
  • "Price wise, it's not cheap, but it's not expensive at all either. It's in the middle."
  • More Cisco Duo Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "PingID pricing is a ten out of ten because it's a little bit cheaper than other tools, such as Okta and ForgeRock, and supports multiple tools."
  • "PingID's pricing is pretty competitive."
  • "The product is costly."
  • "The pricing is neither too expensive nor too cheap."

    Overview

Cisco Duo is a cloud-based access management platform that secures access to all applications, for any user and device, from anywhere. It’s designed to be both easy to use and deploy, while providing complete endpoint visibility and control.

Duo verifies users' identities with strong passwordless authentication and industry-leading multi-factor authentication. Paired with deep insights into your users’ devices, Duo gives you the policies and control you need to limit access based on endpoint or user risk. Users get a consistent login experience with Duo's single sign-on that delivers centralized access to both on-premises and cloud applications.

With Duo, you can protect against compromised credentials and risky devices, as well as unwanted access to your applications and data. This combination of user and device trust builds a strong foundation for a zero trust security model.

IDENTITY DEFINED SECURITY PLATFORM delivers a unified, standards-based platform that can be deployed as SaaS, software or both and can scale to handle millions of identities. From multi-factor authentication and single sign-on to access security, directory and data governance, our capabilities work together to give employees, partners and customers secure access to cloud, mobile and enterprise applications, securing and streamlined everything from sign-on to sign-off and everywhere in between.
