Proactive synthetic monitoring has reduced major incidents and provides global user experience insights
One thing that is not available is the multi-factor authentication feature concerning monitoring any applications. If an application depends upon MFA for its login flow, Catchpoint doesn't have the ability to bypass or monitor that flow for multi-factor authentication. This is one area where I would like to see improvement in the tool because many applications nowadays use multi-factor authentication, and Catchpoint does lag a bit in providing the end-to-end synthetic observability for applications dependent on MFA. This is one of the major areas needing improvement. Otherwise, Catchpoint has been one of the greatest tools in the synthetic monitoring or digital experience monitoring space, and I don't see anything else right now, but MFA is something that certainly needs some improvement.

Real-time monitoring and dashboards with cost-saving licensing
SysTrack requires significant improvements. Sometimes clients experience broken links where the service doesn't run on the user's machine, causing outdated data to display. For instance, a machine's last reboot might be inaccurately shown as seven days ago instead of two days ago. Additionally, real-time data syncing issues lead to delays, requiring this to be addressed, as data might be several hours old.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"After using Catchpoint, we were close to 90 percent, where out of ten incidents, just one incident came from a customer, and the remaining were detected by internal sources, especially with Catchpoint."
"Catchpoint has impacted my organization positively by speeding up the process in detecting issues much earlier, even before the business reaches out."
"Catchpoint's customer service and support are valuable."
"Catchpoint is actually catching issues before customers see them, since it's checking the sites every five minutes or even every minute, via the APIs."
"Catchpoint is very great software for troubleshooting APIs, websites, availability, and other third-party services such as CDNs, which makes it stand out."
"They only lose two points for the cost; otherwise, the insights they provide are really good."
"Catchpoint has positively impacted our organization by providing reliable visibility into performance and availability of our Jira and Confluence environments, giving us confidence that critical user journeys are being continuously monitored."
"The thing I like most is the tech support in this company, because they have 24/7 chat support. We can chat immediately and ask them about an issue and they keep responding. They create tickets on our behalf and respond."
"I am impressed with the huge amount of information that you can get from the infrastructure."
"When a user calls in and says that they are having slowness issues, this tool has the capability to show exactly where the performance issue is. The Resolve feature that they have is very good. It is one of the main features. They are doing a pretty good job with the Resolve feature in terms of showing endpoint performance on various factors."
"SysTrack provides unique, real-time data."
"When you search for a machine or a user, the way we get the information is very helpful. The GUI provides us with all the information about that machine that a user is accessing. It tells us about the CPU, memory, etc. The GUI and the details provided are very helpful."
"Cost-wise, SysTrack has a higher rate than other products, such as Nanoheal, but the features that SysTrack has aren't there in any other product available in the market."
"SysTrack is a BI solution for endpoints; we use it to understand the user experience at the company and user level."
"It is a very powerful tool that will make your life easier."
"SysTrack gathers a lot of different metrics on every single device including performance metrics and application-related metrics such as application usage and resource utilization by applications. It collects a wide range of different metrics, and from that perspective, it's a really good tool."

Cons

"For some larger workflows, I think the product could improve in a few areas."
"I think Catchpoint should have licensing models for individuals or very small organizations, and there is no auto-tuning for alerts, so auto-tuning features for alerts would be beneficial."
"A room for improvement in Catchpoint is that it lacks an automated page updating feature. My company receives all the alerts and notifications it needs, but the page doesn't update automatically. You need to manually refresh the page, so every five minutes you need to refresh it to see the most updated information. If there's an automated page refresh feature, that would help my company. It's a feature that Grafana has. The page auto-refreshes in Grafana, so you don't have to manually refresh the page. If that feature is implemented in Catchpoint, it'll be useful for the users. Another area for improvement in the tool is you have to do a manual task, for example, when you have a notification for a market, you get a zip code that the user could have entered, but if the zip code is incorrect, you have to manually go into Catchpoint and update that parameter, so that manual step is another area in the tool that needs improvement."
"I believe the connection with Snowflake, AWS, and other new upcoming AI tools should be easier, especially the configuration with AI tools and LLMs."
"if we need to do performance analysis, we have to click too many times. For example, if there is an issue that is caught by Catchpoint, we need to understand what the error is and at which step it failed, or which transaction that is impacted. To drill down, we have to click too many things to get the answer."
"I would love to have RAM monitoring available in Catchpoint, which would be a nice feature for both synthetic and real user monitoring, and it would be an amazing tool that I would love to have, complementing each other."
"The only thing that occasionally bugs me about Catchpoint is some aspects of the UI."
"One thing that is not available is the multi-factor authentication feature concerning monitoring any applications."
"One thing from a layman's standpoint, the report should be very clear."
"The licensing model is problematic."
"SysTrack requires significant improvements. Sometimes clients experience broken links where the service doesn't run on the user's machine, causing outdated data to display."
"The tool needs to improve the integration with third-party providers like Cisco products."
"The solution lacks AI in its analysis module."
"Their dashboard could be better. They did it custom, which is the main problem. They should have given an option to integrate it with some of the tools such as Power BI. Unfortunately, they are developing their own native dashboarding capabilities, which is killing them, in my view. The product is good, but dashboarding has been a pain area. I have to literally learn a new BI or dashboarding solution just for a system. We have 100 such kinds of solutions in our environment. If every solution has its custom solution for dashboarding, we can't survive. It is going to be crazy."
"Lacks flexibility with regard to licensing."
"SysTrack isn't stable enough. There are too many upgrades, and not all versions are stable."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing varies based on services and licensing models."
"The price and licensing are very, very high. They have to come down on the pricing to match with the industry standard."
"The solution's pricing is comparable to the last tool we were using."
"In terms of licensing fees, I believe they were slightly higher."
"The pricing is based on consumption and works on a point scale. For example, let's say I want to look at www.google.com, and I'm going to test it to see if it's there. It will bring back all this data that tells me how long it took to connect and how long it took to get the first byte. It will list all the resources on the page, showing that they all work and there are no broken links. It brings that data back. That test has an assigned point value depending on what you decide to extract from that test. If all I do is check to see whether it's available, it might be one point. I don't know the exact point values off-hand. This is just an example."
"Cost-wise, SysTrack has a higher rate than other products, such as Nanoheal, but the features that SysTrack has aren't there in any other product available in the market."
"It is on a per-device basis. It is not on a per-user basis. I was not much engaged in the licensing piece. I was only a part of the conversation about how we are going to scale up or down, but its price, for sure, is competitive."
"If you compare cloud solutions to SysTrack, which is on-premises, then SysTrack is cheaper. If you compare the cost of SysTrack with that of other similar solutions, the cost is similar. For each master server, there's a license. In terms of end user devices, the licenses are sold in multiplications of 10. That's one upfront cost. Once you procure the license, you can use the software for as long as you like. The maintenance is sold on an annual basis. Additional costs are related to hosting and include a SQL server license and Windows server licenses."
"I would rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten."
"It is somewhat expensive."
