We performed a comparison between Blue Prism Cloud and UiPath based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Ability to see the blueprint of the design executed alongside the actual process."
"The reusability of the solution is excellent. It's a superior feature - far superior to any other tool on the market."
"The platform is user-friendly and easy to learn in a low-code environment."
"Blue Prism Cloud is an easy to access and user-friendly solution."
"Blue Prism offers the whole package for LPR developers. It's a useful tool to automate anything. As an LPR developer, I think the most important feature is that it lets you get anything into blocks of code that you can use anywhere."
"Blue Prism is well known for being used in banking and security organizations. Its security is superior compared to UiPath and other RPA tools."
"The corporate leverage is better with Blue Prism. They just present better in a large corporation. It's easier to sell suits and ties than it is sneakers and jeans in financial institutions. That's not really about the application per se; it's the perception."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to write custom code."
"In terms of ease of use, I would rate the solution five out of five. It's really intuitive and any people that have the basics of coding can handle it."
"We are seeing many hours saved with respect to automation. Automation should be on every project's agenda."
"It gives you a technology or ability to build a solution on any legacy system."
"There's a monthly upload process in my order management team. Every month, this team uploads a bunch of files to SAP. Now they don't need to do that because the bot does that for them at a given time period. The team members need to just upload a file to SharePoint and then the bot will pick it up."
"The user interface is simple and allows people to learn from it faster than other applications."
"UiPath Studio's UI automation activities help me in easily developing automation. It is difficult for RPA developers to write complex code because no one knows everything about all automation areas. For UI automation, it is not mandatory for a developer to know how to write the code for the element on the screen that needs to be clicked or typed into. The UI automation packages of UiPath provide built-in activities, and developers can directly drag and drop and indicate the element on the screen that needs to be clicked or typed into."
"Orchestrator has a lot of good features including the configuration, the queues, the transaction reporting, the logs, and accessibility."
"It has significantly improved the accuracy of our operations, particularly in terms of quality, and has also reduced the time required."
"We have limited integrations in place, and my objective is to integrate Sentinel. However, there are constraints as some individuals have only one or two options for SIM integration solutions. Given the urgency of quick resolutions in today's landscape, prevention and detection are crucial. While these measures provide significant security, it's equally important to focus on response and recovery. In the case of a ransomware attack, it's not enough to solely prevent and detect. Once detection is in place, a response model should be implemented to automate the process and minimize the time required for tasks, such as creating investigation reports. In the past, it would take approximately seven to eight days to create an investigation report for a specific attack, including writing a case study. This process can be streamlined and improved through the automation of contextual investigation reports. By saving base templates and content, including screenshots and attack details, automation can be achieved. We are currently working on integrating Microsoft WAF and Excel for this purpose, but having a built-in tool would be ideal."
"The main issue is screen scraping with Blue Prism gives us a big challenge because we need to define which technologies are web-based have been built instead of by itself discovering the technology that it is built on."
"It takes a while to get up and running."
"Blue Prism could be more efficient in its resource use. Having one LPR agent per virtual machine wastes resources. If we could execute many applications at the same time, it would improve and optimize the resource used."
"Pricing for Blue Prism Cloud is a pain as it's a little higher."
"Blue Prism Cloud's pricing needs to be improved because it is a little bit more costly than other automation tools like UIPath."
"The vendor does not make their pricing clear when you are searching for it, which is something that needs to be improved."
"The pricing was a bit high, from what I understand. That might have played a role in the decision to migrate to another solution."
"What happens when a selector breaks? That means that something has changed in the application... UiPath could do a better job of enveloping selectors to make them less fragile... That is the one area that is the biggest pain point. It happens all the time... They should reduce selector sensitivity and improve remediation when one does break."
"UiPath's performance could be improved. UiPath's framework was built on top of .NET Core. It was a 32-bit platform initially, but they recently introduced a 64-bit version. Let's say I have a huge machine with 64 gigs of RAM. If I have a server machine and want to use multi-threading to extend my automation and multitask, the design won't allow me. I can't separate things into multiple processes."
"The variable management is really messy. When I look at the code, I don't know where the variable is and in which scope."
"In the world of NextGen technology, it would be ideal if they could speed up their beta products."
"OCR-based activities should be improved to handle larger amounts of text."
"The setting up of the cloud was a little bit confusing for us. We expected someone to walk us through that process and we just did it ourselves and weren't sure if we were doing it right."
"Sometimes, in my experience, Picture In Picture is a bit buggy. It takes over your control, then the controls get mixed. That is one of few issues that I have found."
"We're actually looking into a document to understand the use case. It's essentially car titles, and we're struggling. We've used several different OCR engines to try to train the model and try to improve it. For us, a little more direction on how to actually achieve this would be useful. We've been struggling for a couple of months now trying to get it working and getting it to the level we need it."
