We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Decipher has been a valuable feature that many of our clients use to extract information from documents.""The tool saves us from repetitive and mundane tasks. We don’t have to write, record or copy data from Excel. The product helps us save time. We save money as well since people doing this task are on various other automation tasks. The chance for repetitive entries is also reduced because the tool helps us make one-time entries.""We can save on staff costs by automating processes.""The platform is user-friendly and easy to learn in a low-code environment.""It’s scalable.""Blue Prism Cloud is an easy to access and user-friendly solution.""There is no latency in the product.""The most valuable feature is the speed at which we are able to implement solutions that can interact through the user interface in the same way that a human being would."

"It enables us to implement end-to-end automation. We have projects where it automates the entire process from one end to the other. Very often we have "human-in-the-loop" within them, because some decisions have to be made, but they are almost end-to-end solutions.""UiPath's most valuable features are its UI automation activities like scraping and manipulating data. We need to scrape the data before we can manipulate it or save it in another application. I think that part is very valuable and important.""One feature that is particularly very likable is the My Workspace option under the Orchestrator menu. We can easily arrange and/or segregate all the folders there. The My Workspace option has been a very big positive for me. I've been able to streamline my work and do structured work with this My Workspace option.""UiPath makes you more productive because it comes with a lot of drag-and-drop features. You don't need to know the APIs to access particular elements on the screen.""It's easy to go with UiPath. It's user-friendly, and any IT person will find it easy to use.""I like the low-code/no-code approach and the graphical interface. Among all the RPA tools, UiPath is the one with the easiest interface.""I love the REFramework and the Azure Queue and orchestrator.""The OCR engine is a valuable feature."

Cons
"The version control could be improved and made consistent. There is a discrepancy between the versions on premise and the cloud versions.""The product’s pricing needs improvement.""Blue Prism Cloud needs to improve support, though documentation is available online. It is not detailed, which does not help.""The AI part is currently missing in Blue Prism Studio... It would be good if the AI part is included in Blue Prism Studio, which can make it much more efficient and good to work.""Pricing for Blue Prism Cloud is a pain as it's a little higher.""Blue Prism Cloud's pricing needs to be improved because it is a little bit more costly than other automation tools like UIPath.""It could be more flexible.""The tool’s customer support should improve. There were instances where I tried to call them up and was put on hold. However, they do revert back through emails once a ticket has been issued. They should be quick with their responses on calls."

More Blue Prism Cloud Cons →

"There is some scope for improvement, especially in the area of variables. Some variables are used in specific workflows and some variables are global. It would help if there was a repository that would showcase which variable is global and which is local to a workflow.""The UI and processes sometimes freeze, so it would be good to see some improvement there. The system configuration and internet speed also have some impact on this.""UiPath support's technical expertise is impressive, but the response time isn't ideal. When you raise a ticket on the UiPath portal, customer support can sometimes take up to 24 hours to respond.""On the investment side, it is a huge investment, especially with the current situation in Sri Lanka. If they can reduce the price or provide affordable packages, it will be very helpful.""UiPath is very stable. I have not had any issues in terms of that. The only issue we used to have was if a website were to change or an application were to change, but we have found ways to work around that and deal with those types of situations.""The OCR is the only area where I expect a little flexibility and improvement.""It would be nice to have the possibility to change the values in the middle of the debug. For example, I am debugging a process, and I write at a place. The value of that level is one, but I want to see the results of it if I change it to two. It does not seem possible in UiPath. It is possible in other software, but in UiPath, it is not yet possible.""The user interface needs to be more customizable, and the debugging tool doesn't work well enough. It needs some improvements."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "This solution comes at a medium to high price point. They need to work on their pricing to enable smaller enterprises to get the benefit of using the product."
  • "When compared with UiPath, I believe it will be difficult for Blue Prism to maintain its market share."
  • "Blue Prism comes at a higher price point compared to other solutions on the market."
  • "The price is very competitive when you are comparing to other providers."
  • "I am not sure how we are set up today, but I recall we had an annual License."
  • "The pricing for Blue Prism Cloud is two out of ten because it's higher than every other technology. My company is on a three-year Blue Prism Cloud license."
  • "It is highly-priced."
  • "The default configuration does not include large-scale log injection, but if you require, such integration, it may incur additional costs per gigabyte. I don't have the exact pricing information for log injection, but it is possible that it varies depending on the volume of data. While there may be a basic service included, additional features might come at an extra cost. When working with cloud environments like VMs, calculating costs involves considering factors such as usage duration, network traffic, inbound and outbound data transfer, as well as network access control. The pricing structure for cloud coverage solutions follows a similar pattern, although specific pricing details would need to be obtained separately."

  • "Its actual cost turned out to be about two times more than what we thought it was going to be upfront. There were hardware costs that we were not expecting. Some of the server costs and things of that nature were higher than what we were expecting but based upon the return, it was a net."
  • "In the RPA industry at the moment and in automation in general, UiPath's pricing model is the most consistent. So, if you are looking at year-on-year growth and pricing, or even if you are comparing solutions, each vendor has their own take on how they are going to generate profits and expand their return on investment. By far, UiPath is the most consistent with their pricing. They make it quite clear what they set out to achieve with their pricing and product. That makes their product so much easier to design for, as you don't need to change your pricing and go back to clients every time that you introduce a new aspect into the solution."
  • "Initially, the pricing was a lot more affordable. Now, it seems a bit excessive."
  • "Some of the licenses, such as for Document Understanding, are a little bit expensive. We hope that they will reduce the prices over time, but it's still something new. I understand that it cannot be given away too cheaply in the beginning."
  • "The cost is better than that of other solutions in the market, like Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism. Still, I would like to see them improve the pricing for small and mid-sized organizations... In some cases, if you compare the overall cost of the solution and the cost of human effort, the human effort is cheaper."
  • "UiPath changed the way that they do licensing, starting in 2022. Any partner that has status with them is now allowed to sell licenses, because UiPath itself does not sell licenses anymore."
  • "UiPath is an expensive solution but it is worth the money. You have a lot of features."
  • "Currently our clients are looking for cost optimization post-pandemic and UiPath comes at a high price point."
